This is one of the first places my husband and I discovered when we moved to Shaw almost four years ago. My husband loves their pizza. I usually order the Greek salad with eggplant rotelli appetizer. I also like their Seafood Lasagna, but it is really, really heavy on the cheese and cream sauce and I can only eat about 1/3 of it in one sitting. The Eggplant Parm is also AMAZING and they give you spaghetti and a salad with it as well. It's SO much food, I usually eat half of the eggplant parm, and save the spaghetti and the other half for leftovers. The Seafood Mediterranean is advertised as low-fat, probably because their is no cheese on it. But they easily give you six servings of pasta covered in butter or oil and on top of that are the veggies, shrimp, and crab. I believe the crab is imitation and not the real deal. It was good, but again... another ridiculously huge portion. I took home well over half my plate and split it between three meals. I love that they deliver on base, but one time they got our address wrong and we waited for almost 2 hours for our order. We usually like to go pick it up and bring it home. Sometimes we go in and eat, but it can be crowded on Friday and Saturday nights. It's a very small place, so seating is limited. Overall, they really are the only "Italian" restaurant in town. They satisfy my craving for the occasional comfort food. read more

We were visiting from Atlanta and decided to try this cute little Italian bistro. Three guys, one gal. The garlic rolls were very good. Salads were ok. Our table ordered Chicken Parma, Chicken Fellini, Chicken Alfredo and the Honey Pecan Chicken. All were very good! We finished with tiramisu and Cannolis which were awesome! We'll definitely come back on our next trip to Sumter! read more

The food at Sambino's is ok for Sumter. Whenever I am here I relax my food/restaurant standards a bit so that I'm not completely disappointed. The service was worse than the food. We stood and waited for a table to open up, and then when it finally did we cleaned it off ourselves. 5 minutes later the waitress comes around saying "oh, I would have cleaned that for you". Delicious homemade garlic knots, meatballs, pizza and calzones. Staff is polite and attentive. The dough they use for everything is delish.

We are fairly new to Sumter so we were looking for a friday night pizza spot. Boy did we find it!! The pizza is amazing and the garlic knots are yum. As for them swimming in melted butter a another reviewer complaind about...its not butter. Its olive oil and garlic. Like any good italian restaurant. We have been no less than 10 times and never ever had slow or rude service. I love this place. read more

Most of you guys must be getting the Sambino's on Alice Dr confused with this Sambino's which is on 441 next to Shaw A.F.B. This Sambino's on 441 is not affiliated with the Sambino's which is on Alice Dr which is called Sambino's Bistro. Basically the same name but with 2 totally different owners. read more

Had to try Sambino's after reading the reviews. We had the lunch portion of Lasagna. HUGE portion was brought to each of us! It was amazing! The Garlic Knot Bread was to die for.... Our waiter was great, accommodating and very busy! Small place, but it works well for the lunch crowd that only have a few minutes for lunch. I was able to see what other' had ordered and the Pizza looked fabulous! If I ever make it back to Sumter, I may have to try their Pizza. But their Lasagna would still be my first choice! read more

By far the best pizza in town. They also offer buy one large get second half off pizza. Their large pizza is huge, has 10 slices. Rolls are tasty. Pasta is up to par. Seafood linguini is great. Only pizza place that we ever order from. read more

Probably some of the best dough in Sumter. They use the same stuff in their garlic bread and it's soft and pillowy on the inside and a great crust on the outside. Ordered a small deluxe and I have to say it was the best pizza ive had in a long time. A perfect crust to sauce to cheese and topping ratio. read more

Sambinos has some great dishes like their Calzone and Pizza they also serve Garlic Knots which are also great! My wife has commented that the sauce on their pasta dishes is rather thick but I cannot make a personal comment to those dishes but it feels appropriate to mention it. The staff is friendly and if you work on base its a short commute for a good lunch. read more

The only reason im giving this 2 stars is because of the pizza and wings. Although I havent had them anywhere else in town yet (other than papa johns) eating in this "restaurant" was a mistake. My wife wanted pasta and heard this place was good so we decided to try it out. The seating area is about 6 tables and one hostess for all of those tables. That means service was not timely. We were given rolls that were drowned in butter but weren't too bad. I would rather have butter to put on them then melted butter in a bowl that they are swimming in. My wife and I ordered chicken parm with spaghetti and ziti. The salad was average but once the main course was delivered I was pretty upset. The ziti was like they cooked the noodles and put some marinara sauce on top. I am used to ziti with cheese baked on top and SOME type of flavoring. The chicken parm wasnt disgusting but for 10 bucks a plate I would have expected something better considering I can get it elsewhere for a few dollars more with better taste. I will never return to eat in Sambinos. If you want pizza and wings then they are okay. #wasteofmoneyandtime read more

I was visiting Sumter for a few days and was in the mood for spaghetti. I wasn't sure I'd find a good Italian restaurant, so I didn't expect Sambino's to be THIS good! When I first went inside I found a small family-style dining area. I was pleasantly surprised when I was first served a complimentary bowl of fresh, hot rolls with a perfect melted butter and garlic sauce. Then I ordered my spaghetti, which was a huge, delicious portion that came with a nice Greek salad. I was surprised by the great prices, too. With my soda added, my dinner total was less than $12, with plenty left over for tomorrow! Oh, it's also family-owned and operated with a super-friendly waitress that treated me like a friend. Also, they've won several local-media awards so my experience obviously wasn't luck of the draw. So as you can tell, I highly recommend Sambino's. Just keep in mind the seating is very limited and I've been told to expect a crowd during the lunch rush... but oh so worth it! Also, don't confuse this Sambino's with the other one in town, as they're not the same ownership and have different styles (or so I'm told ... I haven't eaten at the other one myself). read more

We have been long-time, frequent customers of Sambino's. The quality of the food has recently declined greatly. For starters, the mozzarella on top of our lasagna and chicken Parmesan was obviously just a slice of cheese laid atop the food and it was CHEWY. What kind of cheese is chewy??? The chicken in my chicken parm has always been a large, freshly pounded and breaded breast in the past. This time, it was very obviously processed and previously frozen. The sheet of breading peeled off when I tried to pick it up with my fork. The lettuce in the salad was wilted and brown and there was only one half of a cherry tomato in the entire salad. Rolls were cold. Not at all what we are used to from what had been one of our favorite go-to restaurants. It's completely off our list now. read more
