Excellent food, amazing service, and great value. The people here are so friendly. Jamal was so friendly when I first came, sharing some deserts on the house, giving me tea while I waited, and making sure I was taken care of. The food is very tasty. The chicken is tender and juicy, large portions, and the rice was great. The portions were large enough to save half for lunch the next day. The humus was amazing, and this is coming from a person who's very picky with food. My girlfriend loved her dumplings, and I did as well. Overall, Sami's offers excellent service with a warm and inviting staff that makes you feel right at home. The food is delicious with large portions that will fill you up and or give you leftovers for another meal next time. If you live in the Glen Cove area and enjoy Mediterranean food, I highly recommend stopping by Sami's Kabab House. You will not be disappointed. Five stars.

Sami's has two locations and I can confirm that both of them have the same great service and delicious food. My Afghani friends have said great things about Sami's so I knew I would love it. The portions are very reasonable for any dish, the meat is super tender, and the rice is fragrant- what's not to love? Definitely get the raisins and carrots with the rice- trust me you won't regret it. All in all, I'm glad that there's a Sami's near me.

Food was fresh, very kind staff. Was busy when I went so just in time to get a table in the front by the doors. There was another section to sit but that was full. Food was nice fresh , meats were tender and juicy. It's halal. Mostly Meats, they have salmon as well. They have sweet dishes too like Phirni. Had kava after all the food so a nice balance. We got a family platter which wasn't on the menu. But if you flip the menu they have this photo. Just a photo. So the waiter show Us and said this is the family platter and you can customize it like add whatever meats you'd like. They bring salad to you as a free appetizer. Overall food was great. Siting location was just a bit eh. Hopefully next time we get to sit at the other location in the other room.

Newly opened Afghani place in Glen Cove in a location that seems to be jinxed - new restaurant opens up in the location every few years but doesn't last long. Sami's Kabob House apparently has a location in Astoria which reportedly dishes out really great food. I wasn't feeling it with my take-out order from this location. The hummus was okay. Expected some homemade Afghan bread with the order which I didn't get - instead I had a few pieces of pita bread. The kofte kabob was on the dry side and rice too sweet for my taste.

Honestly kinda disappointed while I went here, I was at least expecting water off the get go with a huge party and we didn't even get that at the very least. Anyway, they don't have a family platter which kinda sucks too and the wait is about an hour despite there being very few customers in general. They were short staffed so that sucks and I know it can be tough but the wait took forever.

I've been dying for something new to eat and we realized we haven't gotten to try Sami's since they've opened up! And WOW every single thing we ordered was phenomenal! you will not be not be disappointed.

Incredible appetizer - crispy eggplant with mint yogurt. Borani Banjan

Absolutely incredible. I've been to the location in Astoria and was craving the Uzbeki Pulao since I had it last. This location is beautiful and the service is what truly made the meal even better. Start your meal with fresh, delicious warm bread, delicious yogurt and mint chutney and save room for the main course! The lamb falls off the bone, with a blend of spices like you've never had. The restaurant is also available for catering - can't wait to come back! Warm, welcoming, lovely staff. Atiq insisted we have dessert to go and treated us like family. Highly recommend.

    Do they serve alcohol?

No. There is a liquor store in the same parking lot as the restaurant. The restaurant will provide you with a corkscrew and glasses for your wine.

There were 10 people in my party. Due to some tables not getting up in time, we had to wait about 30 minutes, even though we were early to the reservation. The restaurant was packed. My family enjoyed everything. We ordered multiple dishes and the three rice sides (zereshk polo, Abaloo polo (my fav - cherry rice) and green rice). We ordered the chicken kebab (2) platters, shrimp kebab (2 platters), barg kebab, ground meat kebab, salmon kebab, and a chicken with pomegranate stew. The chicken with pomegranate stew (Koresh Fesenjan) I had never tried before and it was delicious. For dessert, most of us had Persian tea and Persian ice cream. My grandfather and husband got the chocolate lava cake, was very good. My brother in law got the halavah, which I have had before and he really liked it. I wanted to note the service besides waiting for the table was great. The waiter was super helpful on how many dishes to order and we were all able to finish everything except the rice, which I took home. I loved that the restaurant had a small lift so those with a whee chair could come and dine. My grandfather needed that. Will be running back

Service: 5/5 The service was extremely friendly and nice. We got there and they said we can sit anywhere we like. Service was fast and sauce refills were welcomed. Ambiance: 5/5 The ambiance is elegant yet comfortable, creating a welcoming atmosphere for both casual dinners and special occasions. The decor is tasteful, the dining room is spacious, and the overall setting feels polished without being overly formal. It's a relaxing place to enjoy a meal and spend time with family or friends.

Today my other half was in the mood for lamb so I ordered the lamb shank kabuli again along with the chef combo which consisted of lamb chop, lamb tikka, chicken and fish over rice. The chef combo is probably my least favorite because it's more rice than meats. The meats provided were pretty much a tasting instead of a full kebab (e.g. chicken and fish). The salmon was overcooked and bland, pretty much everything in it was bland, except for the rice and lamb chop, it was thin and fatty. The chicken seemed overcooked as well, it was hard to cut into. The kofta was pretty good, a lot of flavor, small size. The salad it came with, looked so sad. A few pieces of lettuce, carrots and cucumber, that thing couldn't feed half a person. The white sauce tasted like sour buttermilk ranch. After we all ate, we felt awful, heavy, like our chest had some major acid reflux wont be getting this again.

Unfortunately, our experience took a very upsetting turn when we found what appeared to be a bug in the food. We contacted the restaurant to explain what we found and hoped they would handle the situation professionally. Instead, the conversation quickly became hostile. After some back and forth the owner ultimately became very aggressive and said "if you want me to deal with this issue personally you can come in person and we can handle it like men" to my older brother which felt threatening. We left the interaction feeling disrespected, intimidated, and completely disgusted with how our concerns were handled. We were unable to reach a resolution or receive a refund despite raising what we believed was a serious food safety issue. Finding a literal insect in a meal is concerning enough, but what made this experience especially disappointing was the way we were treated afterward. From one Muslim person to another- that man had no kindness in his heart. I truly hope the restaurant shuts down or that man ends up on the street bc he's not taking food safety concerns seriously.

I was so happy to hear that they opened another restaurant in Glen Cove! Plenty of street parking is available, and they even have a shared parking lot in back of the restaurant! I hope more people give this place a chance because the food and service is great! This was our Shared Menu (plenty for 2ppl, and we had leftovers): -- Water Buffalo Momos w.Chili Sauce (8pcs/$18): the Momos were tasty; the meat was very lean. I would skip the Chili sauce next time. I didn't like the sweet and sour taste of the sauce, so next time I'd like to try the steamed Momos with Johl sauce instead. -- Choila Roti "Not a Taco" with Jackfruit (2pcs/$12): Not a Taco but similar to a taco. This was delicious and I'd get this again. We choice the Jackfruit version but they also have a chicken version. -- Masala Wings (Sauteed wet version) (4pcs/$11): I remember really liking the wings when I was at the Ridgewood location but couldn't recall which wings we had. On this visit, we had the wet version which was good but I realized that I like their dry version better. -- Grilled Lamb Chops w.Timur Sauce, Veggies & white rice (2pcs/$25): Surprisingly, this was my least fave dish of the night. I normally love lamb chops but these chops didn't really have a nice seared taste to them. The texture was a little off for me. Also, it was very boney with not much meat. I would try another entree next time. All in all, a good meal! I found the large selection of appetizers more interesting than the entrees, and would have been happy just sharing a bunch of appetizers and small plates. Customer service was welcoming and friendly! It was a pleasure to chat with the owner. Nice addition to the neighborhood!
