I want to gatekeep this place so badly, but I know it would be a disservice to the sweet people at Kabul Kabab and honestly with the state of the country/economy right now, everyone could use a new spot to feed their families/loved ones. Kabul Kabab offers the most delectable, flavorful, and cost-effective family meal in the area. The combo #1 or #2 is more than enough to feed a family of 4-6 and it has great value. A combo comes with salad, onions/grilled tomatoes, 2-4 skewers if your choice (depending on which one you get) and a whole STEAMER TRAY of delicious rice. Pro tip: the lamb kebab is always worth the extra $3 or so and the brown rice is the winner in our home (brown rice = more flavorful + more fiber = winwin!) Please do give this place a try if you're in the area and need to feed at least 3-4 mouths--the people there are so nice and the food is amazing--would give 30/10 stars if I could! read more

Tried the chicken kofta during dinner time which came with two skewers, rice, onions and roasted tomato, and house salad. House bread came with the typical sauces (a yogurt, a cilantro, and chili sauce). Meat was tender and well seasoned. Brown rice was nice too and sumac and paprika were on the table for garnish. I also ordered the qabuli rice topping which was disappointing. Usually the shredded carrots are candied, but these were normal carrots and raisins microwaved with lots of moisture but not transformed in any way. Sat at their tables and served with plastic utensils, food came out in plastic trays as well which seemed incredibly bizarre since the setting and the prices of the dishes did not indicate this would be a fast food hole in the wall establishment. Paid an exorbitant price for their lambchops and almost bursted out in laughter after seeing how small the actual lambchops were, made it all the more obscene as it was almost $40 for this dish. Overall the food here was bland and uninteresting as it was just grilled meats with some white sauce with rice, a combo you can get on any nyc street cart for a quarter of what you'd pay here, only positive here was that you didnt have to tip. This is a very expensive Afghan place but the food is phenomenal. I love ordering the mixed rice. It's a mixture of white rice and brown rice mixed together. They give it to you in an aluminum pan. I truly wish that they would give you more shish kebabs in an order. If they took care of that everything else would be right with the world. The white sauce is nice and tangy. In excess of $100, I ordered a family combo meal to be delivered to my residence. Upon receiving the food, I discovered hair within the dish while serving it to my guests. I promptly contacted the restaurant, only to be informed that the kitchen was closed. Despite paying $108 for the meal, I received hair in the food and was not provided with a replacement. This experience is deeply disappointing and constitutes unsatisfactory service. I called back to the restaurant and was rudely spoken to by the so called manager, disgusting behaviour from the manager not only that I was blamed by the manager that wasn't any staff hair it was mine. Wanted to try something new (for us) on a rainy day, consulted Yelp and chose Kabul Kabab House for delivery. I called the store directly to place my order thus avoiding third party fees - better for the restaurant as well. I got 4 sambosas (2 each of veggie and meat) and a Combo 1 dinner with a choice of 2 kabobs, rice, side veg and salad. Food arrived in about 30 minutes, well packed and still piping hot. We absolutely loved the sambosas, petite fried patties with savory fillings similar to Indian samosas but with flakier crust. Mmmm. Hubbie chose lamb tikka, very good and a generous portion but a bit overdone and chewy for his tastes. Will ask to have it cooked more rare next time. My salmon kebab ($6.00 surcharge) was well spiced, tender and absolutely delicious. Came with a choice of brown or white rice, we opted for brown - jasmine rice kicked up with a nice hint of spice and color. Roasted whole tomatoes and raw onions complemented the kebabs nicely. Also included were containers of white and green sauces, didn't need much of that since the food was so well flavored. Very good food, reasonable pricing, fast delivery, hefty portions. Great food, great service and BYOB! I come here with my family and friends - so each time I've been here it's been with a party of 13+ people. For most small, local restaurants that can get overwhelming but not this place. They somehow manage to get better and better while our groups get bigger and bigger. We've also mastered the art of ordering food here - we get several family platters/combos to share over the table so that's always a good way to make sure you'll get the kebabs you want. Their onions on the side are almost sweet - a perfect compliment to this salty meat, the white sauce is amazing and the lamb chops are some of the best I've had in Long Island.
