You must use the green and white sauce on everything. The salad was extremely fresh and both the meats were cooked perfectly. The entrees are always huge and more than enough food. Service: 5/5 The service was extremely friendly and nice. We got there and they said we can sit anywhere we like. Service was fast and sauce refills were welcomed. Ravagh Persian Grill in Roslyn Heights is one of those places on Long Island that truly never disappoints. It's become a reliable stop whenever you're craving authentic Persian food done well. One thing I've always appreciated here is the little touches. The warm bread they bring out is wonderful, and if you know to ask, they'll sometimes bring lentils as well -- a comforting start to the meal that feels very traditional. The meats are always fresh and beautifully seasoned, which is exactly what you hope for when ordering Persian kebabs. They recently renovated the Roslyn Heights location, and the space now feels very modern and polished. It's definitely an upgrade visually. That said, the dining room is a bit on the smaller side, and the tables sit fairly close together -- close enough that you might hear your neighbor's conversation. The Huntington location has a more relaxed, family-style Persian feel, while Roslyn feels more contemporary. Service has always been thoughtful. During our visit, we accidentally dropped a fork and the staff immediately replaced it without hesitation. Small gestures like that go a long way. What also makes Ravagh special is its place in the Roslyn Heights community. Located in a predominantly Jewish neighborhood on Long Island, it's nice to see a restaurant serving authentic halal Persian cuisine and welcoming such a diverse crowd. We ate at Ravagh on a Friday evening. There were 4 of us and we started with the Hummus and Babaganoosh. They were both delicious. For my entrée I ordered the Khoresh Fesenjan stew. I have never had anything like this. It was chicken cooked in a sauce of walnuts and pomegranate with a side of rice. I loved it. The chicken was tender and the sauce was incredibly flavorful. The other people at the table ordered the grilled meats. I also tried the rice with the cherries in it. Very good. Great place! read more

Ravagh is back and busier than ever!! After seeing on Yelp that they were finally open again, my fiance and I zoomed on over for dinner. We thought that most of the dinner rush would be over by 8pm, but boy were we wrong. There were quite a number of large parties that night & multiple others waiting, so we probably waited around 1 hour for a party of 2. Highly highly recommend calling ahead to try to put your name down or coming around 9pm, when some of the dinner rush dies down. Oh how I have missed the food here!!! We ordered the combination kabob ($72) which comes with 4 (2 koobideh/chopped beef, 1 sirloin, 1 chicken) and white basmati rice. Highly recommend the combo, and get the bone in chicken! The portions here are still generous. I think it can comfortably feed 3, or 4 with the addition of an appetizer or two. All of the meats are cooked perfectly; it is incredibly flavorful, tender, and juicy. Service is friendly & attentive with water refills and bread. I can't quite remember what the old restaurant looked like, but the reopened restaurant is still just as trendy and comfortable inside. This is my first time at this exact restaurant in Long Island. I've been to the one in Manhattan, but I have to say this one is my favorite. It looks like they're remodeled the building at the restaurant is located in and everything is fancy and clean. The service was excellent. This place recently reopened and it is clear that they dish up some amazing food. - I recommend a reservation as it is crowded and may be difficult to get a table otherwise. - valet parking is there due to limited space - classy atmosphere with comfortable seating - the food itself was delicious. The rice was fluffy, baba ganoush well seasoned, all the kebabs were impressive (we got soltani, joujeh, and salmon) - not as big of a fan of the lentil and ashreshteh soups. They were a little watery for my taste - the thing that could have made it 5 star was service. Disappointing Experience After Reopening I've been coming to Ravagh since 2004, so I was genuinely excited to see the restaurant reopen after the renovation. Unfortunately, today's experience was extremely disappointing. I ordered takeout and picked it up, and the food was honestly awful. * The chicken was dry * Portions were noticeably smaller * The salmon tasted off, and I felt nauseous after eating it This was not the quality I've known for over 20 years. I also asked for my money back due to my displeasure and was told to "give my name when I come back," which was frustrating and dismissive given the situation. Sadly, this experience has lost a long-term customer. Going forward, I'll be sticking with Kolbeh, which continues to deliver the quality and consistency I expect. Very disappointed. read more

TC's suggestion of Ravagh Persian Grill was a long time plan in the works that finally came to fruition. In my observation, the façade looks to have been a diner at one point. Though upon entry you're welcomed to an upscale modern vibe that looks nothing like a diner. Our waiter for the evening, Wilfredo, was a pleasure to talk to. Amongst all of our items ordered, he suggested a specialty app for the evening. It consisted of soft yet crispy rice (Tahdig - SP), with well seasoned sauced up lentils and tender beef chunks. An interesting dish that I would try again. Hummus. The best I've ever had. Silky, smooth with no grainy texture. Hummus's I've had in the past were grainy and overpowering. I would come back for this. Warm Dolmeh?! Never had it warm before and will never have it cold again. For me, warm is the only way to indulge. Salmon Kebob, excellent. This was my first time trying purging food. Everything appeared to be very fresh and authentic. I'm not necessarily a fan of Middle Eastern food, so I stuck with a mixed Mediterranean salad, which was very yummy. It had all the things you expect from a Mediterranean salad... Chopped lettuce, Kalamata, olives, chopped onions, tomato, feta cheese, and a vinaigrette. It was very tasty. Everyone else ordered more traditional Persian foods like the rice with cherries, and some stews and soup. Again, not my thing, but my friends wanted to have Persian and I went along for the ride. The service was very good and the restaurant was very crowded for lunch, a good sign. Overall, it was a very nice experience. There are additional parking spots directly behind the restaurant. It might seem odd that in starting the review that way but they have a small parking lot and the businesses next door have signs about towing so it's good to know there's additional spots available. The staff was fast and friendly and the food was excellent. The restaurant was packed when I was there and they were still in top of their game. The stuffed grape leaves are served hot and have the right amount of lemon. The lamb was perfectly seasoned and firm but still moist. My parents constantly rave about this restaurant and I finally got a chance to see what all the hype was about on our way back from LI since we were in the area. It was around 9pm and they were still bustling. The parking lot was full and the inside and outside dining areas were packed. When we walked in, the counter was covered with takeaway orders. We were given a menu and I ordered three meals. It was busy so we expected a wait. The staff was kind and allowed us to sit near the entrance at a table while we waited for the food, even serving us coffee and tea. Their tea is very fragrant and hot the spot on a chilly night. It took about 25 minutes for the order to be ready. I paid and we headed home. The food was still warm when I got back to the Bronx. I ordered three different Koobideh dinners, chicken, lamb and beef. They all come with pita, salad, rice and charred tomatoes and onions, and even small packets of sumac. The meat is seasoned to perfection and super tender. Each meal is enough for two people so we had leftovers for the next night. One thing I found odd was that there was an extra container of food in the bag. I think someone mistakenly gave us another diner's leftover food because it did not look like a freshly prepared meal and it didn't fit with my order. We ultimately threw it out because we could not identify what it was and did not want to chance it. Sometimes I've gotten extra food for free because I order so much but this item looked like someone's half eaten food, packed along with ours. I was a little unnerved by that but everything else was very well packed so I was not worried about cross-contamination. I would definitely go back. I would love to dine in and if they take reservations, I suggest making one if you plan on visiting on a busy night, such as a Saturday. Fresh and delicious! i ordered pickup. location is great - right off I-495, and there's plenty of parking. food came out piping hot and fresh. my favorite dish was the chicken koobideh and cherry rice. next time, i won't pay the extra $4 to get a salad instead of rice since the salad portion was so small (and won't get a salad at all, as i was unimpressed with the salads), but the rest of the food is amazing! i will definitely order again! read more

I've eaten at Ravagh Persian Grill in Roslyn many times, and my love for Persian cuisine keeps bringing me back. They recently updated the interior, and the place looks great. As usual, it was packed, but we were seated within 15 minutes. The only downside during my latest visit was the timing: our food arrived later than expected, especially since several tables seated after us were served first. Still, once the dishes arrived, the quality was outstanding--perfectly cooked, flavorful, and consistent with what I've come to expect from Ravagh. A friend recommended this Persian place to me after telling her about our go to restaurant. I was skeptical but open to trying it out. Ravagh absolutely blew my mind. The decor is very grand and classy and the food is amazing. Service isn't always the best as you will need to flag someone down if you need something but I'm willing to forgo that if the food is good. We ordered the koobideh kebab platter as well as the barg kebab platter. It seems very pricey at first $20-$30 something a platter but I can assure you it's worth it! The portion is huge and you definitely will need to either split it or take some home. I ended up eating only half one a dish by myself. The koobideh kebab was like a seasoned chop beef kebab. It was extremely well seasoned and bursting with flavor. The barg was a juicy sirloin steak that made me feel like I was eating at a steakhouse. We also ordered a side of babaganoosh which I highly recommend! It paired so well with the fresh pita that they provided. The place is quite small but packs a big punch. Ordered the Barg kabob and the Lamb Koobideh Kebab. The lamb was juicy and the seasoning matched the meat well. The Barg was really juicy but it could honestly have been seasoned or salted more but that is just my preference. Both meats paired well with the rice that it comes with but you can substitute the rice for fries or grilled veggies but it would cost you a little extra. The meal was good and tasted like halal but you feel a lot cleaner after eating it. (That super greasy feeling) The sauces that they give you with the bread also go well with the meat. Don't know if you're supposed to dip the meat in them but it worked for me! Be careful where you park! They have a picture posted on their front door warning you where you cannot park and that you would get towed if you park in those areas. read more
