Sadly, after my review 6 months ago we went back (and took more friends because it had been so good) and had bad food and a bad experience. We did notice new staff and the waitress told us it was her 1st day). My husband got the same thing and was disappointed this time because it was no where near as good, not made the same, etc. A friend that was with us tried the antipasta salad again and the difference was alarming - more lettuce than anything, very little meat/cheese and it was just thrown on there - not rolled, no presentation. A new friend we brought got the meatball sub, along with me, and the bottom of our bread was burnt. That never should have left the kitchen. It took forever to get our food and we had a meeting that night so there was no time to return things to the kitchen for remaking. We thought it was a fluke so we tried again (ordering different things) - same result: bad food, bad experience. They are under new management ...again apparently. The last three times I've been there the food was TERRIBLE - and the service wasn't much better. This last time was the clincher though. My family eats out A LOT so, I don't usually let one bad experience turn me against a restaurant (thus the 3 bad experiences). The server was new - it was literally her first day and judging by the empty restaurant ... possibly her first table so I didn't expect much. There were 6 of us ... I ordered the gyro and what little meat they put on it was literally burned to a crisp. It was completely inedible. The other dishes weren't much better. I moved here a year ago and moved behind sami's pizza I tried them once it sucked, a year later (today) I give in and called in for a pie, new management , remodeled store front, why not? I did and I had a hair in my pizza , also it took over an hour for a cheese pizza and I live 200 yards from them , so I simply went to pick up pie ( tired of waiting for delivery guy) and guy at register says that pizza left , and started making excuses why it took so long ( there was one costumer in the place and I call ahead of lunch rush 11:20 after getting a rash of stuff from person on register . I left got home and the delivery guy was at my house of course ... after opening pizza there was a hair in the pizza from the cook I'm sure.. I came across Sami's when looking for a different local pizza place to try via DoorDash. That hAs been months ago and it's my one of only two places I prefer here in Palm Coast. Everything we have ordered here has been good. Sometimes I may need to add a little bit of salt and pepper but that's it. Glad they were on DoorDash or I would probably have not noticed them. They are tucked into a strip mall and trees around here cover signs. Maybe one day I will actually go to the business vs delivery. Buy local, don't drive-by, stop and order. Placed an order at 8:23, at 9:30 call to check on it since it never arrived and I was told I had called back to cancel, funny thing is I never did lol. They were just too lazy to deliver 30 minutes before closing time. Never offered to make the order or even a simple apology. Had talked this place up to so many people but no more. The garlic knots were fantastic and the Veal Parm was the best I have had in Florida. Super fresh, huge portions nicely done. Give the lane Olive Garden a break. Super impressed! I ordered Lasagne and it was absolutely delicious. The presentation of the dish was on point and the taste is outstanding! Honestly the best lasagne I have had in a while. Tonight was our first time (and definitely our LAST time) to try Sami's Pizza in Palm Coast FL. We placed a carry-out order consisting of 2 gyros sandwiches plus 1 order of onion rings and paid the cashier the total cost of $18.70. Per the receipt, our order was placed at 7:22 pm. The place was empty except for a couple of people picking up pizza orders. We were told our order would take 20 minutes but could be quicker. We made the mistake of hoping for quicker since it was such a small simple order. After waiting over 30 minutes, we starting checking on our order status and were told multiple stories about how it would be out "soon". Finally 50 minutes later at 8:12 pm, we received our carry-out order. As for the food - I'm being kind to say mediocre at best. The meat was sorely lacking and cold plus the tzatziki sauce tasted like sour cream. Onion rings were ok but also cold. We won't be back to Sami's and we strongly recommend you go elsewhere. read more

Sami's Pizza has the worst pizza in Palm Coast. We've given them 3 chances now. The pizza is dried out.....it looks like it sat out all day. Also, it has absolutely no flavor and very little toppings. Very disappointing for a $19 pizza. I've had better frozen pizza. The first time we received the pizza like this we were told "it was because we ordered from the Slice app. They lose money on that app. Next time call to place the order". The last time I called.... it was dry again. I called tonight only because Mezzaluna had a 1 hour and a half wait for delivery. The take out Option was easy to order on the phone, pickup was easy. Krista (spelling?) at the register was masked up. The Sausage and onion Pizza was delicious. I was told 30 minutes and got there a few minutes early. Prompt in spite of them having 3 tables with customers ( properly distanced). First time at Sami's and the restaurant was a lot bigger than we expected, noticed it was a nice clean place, right down to the shakers on the tables, I really appreciate that! We had the garlic white sauce and ricotta with added meatballs. We watched the dough tossed by hand and baked perfectly with a nice crisp crust, very New York style and oh so good! If they had a wood fired oven, we would be in heaven! Also tried a gyro but it was just ok, the sauce didn't taste like tzaziki and the meat was not shaved but sliced, it may have been the same meat on the pizza, even though we ordered the meatballs, they were flat. Last night my husband brought home a Sicilian Pizza from Sami's. We were not fans to say the least. Disappointed, i called to complain, as we were having guests and did not want to serve the pizza. The manager got on the phone , explained some people love it, it's simply how that type of pizza is made. He then had a pizza delivered , with cannolis. Sadly I have to give Sami's Pizza only 1 Star. We have ordered from here a few times over the past 5 months. I am told the management just changed in the past few weeks. I can't say this was a good change. The past two orders I have made were wrong or missing food. It all starts from the start when i get texted that my order was delayed more then than a hour each time (due to them being "busy"). So having to wait more then than once for over two hours on a simple order. The order comes and they are missing something in my order. The last time I ordered they made the wrong thing and I had to have the drive send it back. It takes another hour for the driver to return with the right order. You would think after all the issues the store would give me a credit or something. Nothing..... I called the store a few times to deal with these issues and get a girl that yells "Oh Sh*t" on the phone and says she will send the drive back. Very unprofessional in any setting. Normally the food is fresh and hot however my last order I found the gyro to be very bland and dry. The Pita was also burnt and over cooked. As a former chef in Greek cooking a Gyro is very hard to mess up. Very disappointed in the service and management of this restaurant. For those wanting to know about COVID Guidelines. I didn't see any being followed. None of the drivers wore masks. read more

Today was my last try, it was the third this year and I actually threw it in the garbage. The fries were literally dripping grease, so you can guess how soggy they were, the calzone was over cooked to the point of being burnt, and was extremely dry. I ordered a meat lovers calzone and had to double up on another meat because they didn't have any meatballs! What Italian style restaurant doesn't have meatballs at lunch time? My wife's salad was simply chopped lettuce and stale croutons, no Caesar dressing because they were out of that too! Don't know who took over, but they aren't going to make it. After ready some of the latest reviews on other sites like Zomato, I realized that I'm not alone. We have been regulars for a few months. I always wondered why they weren't more busy, but after our experience, I know why. The food is good, although he potions are getting smaller. But that isn't issue. We are in the customer service industry and small business owners. We know that this town is small so the customer experience is very important. On our LAST visit, while eating dinner ($72.00)the owner was yelling and abusing his staff. I made mention to our server and she replied by telling us that she has quit 6 times and that the table behind us just started coming back from 6 months ago after being called shit head in front of them. I told her that I was going to make a review about our experience and that is uncomfortable to witness. She proceeds to tell the owners son what we said and at check out he doubled down by say to us as we were paying "I know what you are doing, and my dad is the nicest man you'll ever meet" I was shocked that he was saying this instead of apologizing. I was just about to speak with him about my experience but he beat me to it. I told him that we came in after working all day to relax and that this is the last thing we wanted to experience is staff being yelled at.He made us feel as though we were the bad guys. Like I said, this is a small town, you can have the best food, the nicest things, but if people feel like crap by the owner when you leave, Good luck. Reading all of the reviews, this is habitual. There is enough abuse going on in our world, I don't need it while eating dinner. They need to shut off their TVs (nasty news) and play some Chill Radio. I most likely would not have written this review if the owner would have spoken to me like an adult and apologized for the out burst. The pepperoni rolls cost a lot more than just fixing the issue. Really enjoy sammi's pizza! Very consistent good stuff. Antipasto is great , pizza super good old school. Crust is slightly thicker but crispy too. Sauce to cheese ratio is just right!!!! Calamari super good too. We have not tried gyros or sandwiches yet but we will soon. The place has been good for years. Good deals for lunch. They also have tv for sports or whatever. Just tried them for the first time. Friday night is pizza night and am constantly looking for a place that will compete with my wife's memories of NY pizza. She says it's all in the crust. This used to be one of my favorite spots to go for pizza and subs, but the owner is just flat out rude! I was a loyal customer for quite awhile, but with my last oder I got a philly sub for delivery and when I opened it to eat it there was no meat on a good 2 inches on Both sides of the sub! There was basically a small clump in the middle. I called to let them know i wasnt looking for a refund, just maybe let the cook know. Well the owner was rude and said they never do anything like that and maybe i should go in and he'll spread it out for me. I obviously tired to rearrange the meat myself, but there just wasnt enough. For the price you pay, you just want a fair amount of food. I would have been fine with everything had he been polite. read more
