We were a large group of approx. 13 and called late in the day for a dinner reservation. They were able to accommodate us at 8:45PM. Most of us arrived on time and a few staggered in within 15 minutes thereafter. Our server did a great job hosting us and he was both extremely knowledgeable and honest about the various entrees which I very much appreciated. In the end, I chose the linguine vongole. This typically isn't a dish I'd order but I was having a difficult time making a decision likely because it was well after my normal dinner time. That's on us for enjoying too much pool time. ;) To my surprise, this pasta dish was incredible! The sauce was epic and they didn't scrimp on the clams. I also started with a Caesar salad. It was average. The dinner portions were a decent size from what I could see and everyone seemed satisfied with their choices. We had 3 people in our group who either suffer from celiac or possess a gluten allergy so they ordered gluten free pastas and rolls. All three were shocked (in the best way) by the quality of the gluten free bread service. Speaking of bread service, we were served fresh bread with roasted garlic, herb butter, and oil prior to dinner. Yum!! The only negative experience we encountered was at the end of our meal. Unfortunately, the hostess didn't convey to our server we would be on separate checks and charged the entire bill to one of our group (they hold a card in advance). I can understand this would be aggravating to a server especially at the end of their shift. However, it would probably be best to tap into one's showmanship and not allow the annoyance to be seen. I didn't penalize his gratuity because I grasp he was annoyed and tired. But for this, he did a phenomenal job taking care of us. It was just a disappointing way to end our experience. Additionally, the hotel charges a service charge if one utilizes their credit card rather than charging it to their room. Unfortunately, we didn't learn this until after the fact and we were annoyed because a few of us were actually holding the room card in our hands along with the credit card trying to decide which to use for payment. This would've been a prime opportunity to school us on the policy. Furthermore, we should've been informed upon arrival or has some visible signage. All in all, it was a nice dinner and all of our meals came out as ordered which says a lot for 13 orders and 3 gluten allergies. read more

If you notice, most of the 1 star reviews have nothing to do with the food, which was fabulous. My dad is the absolute pickiest and extremely hard to impress at a restaurant but even he was pleased. Flawless steaks cooked to perfection, sauces and sides delicious. Expensive but worth it. Server was a bit odd in his commentary and definitely not a salesman but attentive and kind. This place was really actually freaking amazing. We went a little later and didn't get to get offered desert - probably because they closed at 11 and we got there at 9pm I'm not sure but the steaks were amazing - we got the ribeye and filet and it was cooked to perfection. The fish my husband ordered was in like a fresh lemon butter sauce ( the cobia) and it was so fresh and not dry at all. We also ordered the short rib with risotto and polenta. The polenta was a new addition on the menu and I didn't care for it, the risotto was more flavorful. Get rid of your current "Chef". Delfino's has significantly gone downhill!! What used to be authentic Italian food has now become a glorified Olive Garden! Ordered the Penne alla Zozzona , was cold and salty. Husband ordered Zuppa di Pesce. The linguini was cut into small pieces that could not even be picked up with a fork. I really wanted to love this restaurant as it was around the corner from my house and it would have been convenient but after spending $160 on dinner for two with apps, salad, soup, garlic bread, two entrees and dessert, we will not be back. Wow, outstanding service and food. I don't understand why the rating is 3. Yelp you need to update your rating system. From the time we appeared here Ian the host welcomed us and got us a great table. He even made sure to get me a drink on the house for my birthday! Sharon our waitress was outstanding. Friendly and great service timing with our fantastic bread tray, appetizers, main course and dessert. Food was hot and delicious. Our compliments to the chef! They even allow 1/2 orders of pasta dishes, which is more than enough. The grouper was delicious and fresh. Too bad it's a private restaurant, then so many others could enjoy it. read more

After arriving at the 1-Star Hammock Beach Motel we were exhausted and chose to have dinner at Delfino's. It claims to be an Italian steakhouse. I'm certain nobody there is Italian, has been to Italy or possibly eaten Italian food. It's like a restaurant where the chef has 0 talent and tries to reinvent classics...then for whatever reason people are afraid to tell him it's garbage...literally hot garbage. What I found peculiar, and there must be tremendous amounts of theft, is when you check in with the host they take your room key. We sat and I asked our server if the hostess had forgotten to return it and she said no, I can have it back at the end of the meal. It appears they hold the room key hostage as ID and ransom for payment. This may also be a tactic to force people to pay for the food after they've tasted it. It's freaking awful. I wish I had taken pictures. I ordered the seafood linguine and I will say I was so hungry I just ate it. My wife had the short rib, ate 3 bites and we tossed it. My daughter had the chicken Marsala which I had not expected to be served on the bone. Also awful and added to the garbage. Our server was fine, maybe a little defeated working there; but, even an average performance would have been the highlight of the dinner service. Note to everyone, this restaurant is only for hammock beach resort members and guests. Let me begin with a tip that can turn your experience from 3star to something higher: Request that the food be brought out right as it's done. Don't worry about the formalities of all dishes brought out at once. Service is great! Attentive and great to chat with. Food tasted good as we ordered the carbonara and porterhouse (medium). When the food was brought out, you can tell that both dishes had been sitting out as you can see that the sauce on the pasta was settled, didn't have that sheen you expect. The porterhouse, although delicious, when you take your first bite, you know it's warm to the mouth, but can tell it borders on being a touch to just room temperature. I want that steak brought out to me HOT. At this price point, warn the customer that the steak is hot, but let us decide how long to wait on the steak to cool down. That's my only gripe. Great atmosphere, great service, but I'm certain the food experience would be better if the food wasn't that cooked down. So request to be brought out immediately and I'm sure you'll be at 4-5 star rating. So if you're staying a Hammock Beach, definitely worth the try. read more

This place was absolutely delicious! We ordered the porterhouse and seafood pasta (not the exact name of the dish since I forgot it) both dishes were so tasty. You start off with bread, roasted garlic, olive oil, and chickpeas. It was the perfect compliment to our meals. The service was excellent! Waitstaff was very well educated on the menu items and were so helpful on what to order. I highly recommend this place if you are staying at the resort or a member, worth every penny! While sta ying at the Hammock Beach Resort, we wanted to watch the Monday finish of the rain delayed Players Tournament up at TPC Sawgrass, so we went to Delfinos and sat at the bar, right in front of the TV. Bob was our bartender and server, as we had dinner at the bar while watching the golf. We started with two great cocktails, the "Smokey Man" and the Barrel Aged Old Fashioned. We shared a meatball to start, along with some bread with olive oil/balsamic, cumin spiced chickpeas, and a whole head of roasted garlic. We had a very good Caesar Salad with white anchovies, then the Zuppa di Pesce and a nice Chianti. Great food and we enjoyed Bob's Company. We liked it so much we came back two days later. John served us a repeat flight of the same cocktails, and we had a half order of the Bucatini Carbonara and the "Pollo Parmesan for Two, Pizza Style". The Carbonara was made the traditional way with egg and parmesan with pancetta, and was excellent. The pizza style chicken is a pounded chicken breast, breaded and served with tomato sauce and cheese, like in Chicken Parmesan, but since it was round it was quite a bit like a zero carb pizza. Delicious with a Sangiovese. It was a ton of food, so we took the "pizza" home with us for another meal. Bill helped John with our dinner and drinks, and regaled us with stories of tending bar and playing golf in Texas. Good morning, There was something frustrating about the Delfinos Italian Chophouse restaurant. I made a reservation for dinner on 12/24/23. I was hoping to capture a special moment with my family. But to our surprise, when we arrived, we were taken to the 2nd floor, an improvised place, where kitchen and cleaning utensils were displayed. I asked them to check the possibility of a table on the 1st floor, where the place would be in harmony with the Christmas atmosphere. But the employee approached me saying what was the problem with the table. I emphasized that I hoped to spend a pleasant moment with my family, and I would like to record through photos and immortalize this moment, but the location was not suitable. The waiters were perfect, very pleasant. However, we were told that there was no table available. I would just like to be informed in advance that we would be staying in an improvised location, so that I could assess whether I would accept it or not. Therefore, we ate quickly as we would like to leave the place as quickly as possible. We went to the lobby and ordered some good wine and called it a night. I was a little put off by the reviews, but we decided to try Delfino's during our anniversary trip to Hammock Beach, and I'm glad we did! Free bread and butter was brought to the table first. We skipped appetizers and went straight for our main course. My husband got the chicken parm with a meatball on the side, and I got the pork loin plate. His chicken melted in your mouth, and the meatball was divine. My pork loin was delicious!! We finished off our meal with the chocolate lava cake-- only con is that it needed to be bigger! Never even got to eat here so my review is purely based on customer service. We are staying as guests here and called 3 hours in advance to try and make reservations here. We were transferred to an automated voicemail box which instructed "if we are unable to accommodate your request we will call you back as soon as we're available". We left a call back number for both our cell phone and room number for them to call us back at. They never called us back... We showed up to Delfino's at our requested time and after the manager had to be called over, he proceeded to tell us that there was no call back number to let us know our requested time wasn't available, and it would actually be about 90 minutes until we can be seated. I watched my wife make the initial phone call and she certainly left a call back number, so they clearly just didn't listen to the message. Manager said sorry and then went back to his business. We decided to eat here for dinner and we weren't expecting much after reading the reviews but my husband and I were quite surprised. His filet mignon was cooked perfectly and very tasty and my Italian sausage lasagna was very good as well. What stood out to me was the service. We had Sharon as our waitress and she went above and beyond. Always checking in on us to see if we needed anything and when it was time for desert I ordered a cappuccino but was told the machine was broken so I ordered the tiramisu instead. I dined at Delfino's with a group of 7 people. We were members of the resort and made a reservation due to the membership perks. The food was delicious, but the service was horrendous. Our waitress kept apologizing for us not having the correct menus but never went to get the menus. She was unaware of what the specials and deal for members were. She was openly training staff members while we waited. Our meal took over 3 hours and had to ask for the check during dessert because we were becoming so impatient. Our water glasses never got filled up and we had to ask multiple times for water and bread. We were clearly annoyed and no manager came over to apologize. I ordered the veal chop,it was cooked exactly the way I asked for it. Butterflied milanese style yum. I also had the lobster bisque soup excellent. I did order a bottle of wine my fault instead of looking at the wine list as I normally would. I told our waitress I was going to order a bottle of pinot gigi. She mentioned Santa margarita which I know very well. You can purchase this wine in any liquor store for anywhere from 18:99 to say 21:99. Well to my surprise when the check came we where charged 75:00 plus tax plus tip we wound up paying 100.dollars for an 18:99 dollar bottle of wine. Moral of the story always look at the Price on the menu this way you won't have sticker shock when the bill comes. For this reason I can only post 1star read more

I stayed at the Hammock Beach Resort with a few friends and my fiancé. It was Monday evening the options for dinner was Delfinos and a place we are lunch at so we ended up here. Our server was nice and fast. We immediately got hot bread and everyone got their own oil and seasoning. I was starving so I thought it was good to me but my fiancé did not care for it. We split the seafood scampi that had scallops and shrimp. The shrimp was not jumbo! That was disappointing. The server said the scallops were the best they ever had but it was nothing out of this world. I enjoyed the pasta but again my fiancé said he didn't like it! We also slit the Carne & Verdure pizza which I thought was very good and for the third time my fiancé did not like it---mostly because of the arugula! The dough was fresh and it crispy. My friend got the filet and he said it was good but the Radicchio was not. My other friend got the Osso Busso and loved it! I had some and she was right, soooo good! All the portions were big too! The decor is ok, it matched the resorts looks and the view was ok(we could see the fountain). It was definitely pricey but that's what I expect when it's attached to a resort.
