My chopped green salad was not baby kale as written in the menu but it was still green--half spinach and half romaine lettuce--with way too much balsamic vinaigrette (I forgot to ask for it on the side)--literally a puddle left on the plate. I was traveling through the airport at lunch time and decided to get some tacos at Sammy Hagars place in the terminal. Food was very fast to come out. I ordered the steak tacos in corn tortillas. These dont come with any sides but you get three of them and since it was lunch I was happy with just those. They are not spicy at all but I liked the green sauce to put on top. There was a decent amount of red cabbage included in each fyi. I got a soda but they had a great drink selection of margaritas too. Service was friendly and fast. Prices were comparable to typical restaurant prices even though it's in the airport terminal. Well I had to revise a bit. The beers on tap were $11.99 ea. a bit more than I usually pay. It's been a rough week. I needed a good beer. We had a 4 hour layover. Was looking for a place to hang. Was told by another restaurant we would be kicked out after 45 minutes. Then we found Sammy's. The food was very good, not great. The marinaded grilled chicken sandwich with avocado is good. I'd suggest they slice the chicken breast. It was a bit thick and hard to bite without it falling out of the sandwich. Husband said the cheeseburger (substituted cheddar) was "very good". I ate all the fries but they weren't great. We were surprised by the live music which I love. The singer was very good. The waiter was quick and on it. He checked on us and asked if we wanted more beer. (Of course, 3 more hours to wait?) Atmosphere is Sammy Hagar with a beachy feel and sports on the TVs. Can't complain for an airport restaurant. They offered beers in tap, bottles and cans. We prefer tap--had Sierra NV Hazy Little Thing and Wicked Weed Pernicious IPA. I liked them both. Overall, a very welcoming place. I have a three hour layover at the Charlotte airport and I find Sammy Hagar's Beach Bar And Grill. I order straight off the menu a signature cocktail called the Cabo Wabo. Margarita I asked the waitress if I can sub out a different tequila she says yes there are no prices on the menu. I order a "mex bowl"add chicken. It was satisfactory maybe six out of 10. The drink was excellent, however they served it to me and a plastic cup. When I received the bill I looked down to see that my plastic Dixie cup cost $25. I didn't order a double I didn't order anything special except sub the tequila for an equal quality cost. When I question the server about the plastic cup and $25 for what is $12 in the rest of the country, she says I'm sorry but that's the airport pricing. ( that's insanity.) I would've never ordered a $25 margarita served in a Dixie cup. This is embarrassing for Sammy, now I will leave here and go find a higher quality bar if I'm gonna pay $25 where I can get my drink in a real glass And know what I'm spending before it surprises me at the end. This was my first time in Charlotte since May 2024. I lost both my parents in Charlotte in 2023. I only came back in 2024 for my nieces graduation. Before I lost my parents, I would go between New York and Charlotte at least once a month. One of my favorite things to do was stop at the Rum Bar in CLT airport before boarding my flight back to New York. Needless to say that this trip was not easy because all I thought about the whole trip was my parents and how much I missed them. When I got to the airport to return home, I noticed the Rum Bar was replaced by Sammy Hagars Beach Bar and Grill. I could only hope that the experience would be what I was used to. Turns out it was better. The bartender Hailey was very nice and very attentive as we talked about the Rum Bar and she took my order. I am a wing guy and habernero mango wings were excellent and the fries complimented them perfectly. The margarita was absolutely great. This was a nice ending for a pretty difficult trip thanks to Hailey and the great food and drinks. I look forward to my next trip to Charlotte. I will definitely return to Sammy Hagars!!! read more

This airport bar's wings were surprisingly good. The only downside was that they only had a bbq mango-habanero salsa. It tasted great and I was glad to have tried it but I went in wanting traditional buffalo. On the upside, they had Wicked Weed Pernicious on tap, which paired perfectly. The fries were just okay, and my partner's burger hit the spot. Vanessa, our waitress, was fast, friendly, and made a great impression. I'd definitely stop by again if I'm ever waiting here. I really wanted to enjoy my visit here, but the service left a lot to be desired. When I sat down, I tried using the QR code at the table to place my order, but it kept giving me an error. I flagged down the main server (who seemed to be the only one really working), and she kindly said she'd let my server, Mel, know. I waited... and waited... but Mel never showed, even though I saw Mel sluggishly making her way between tables. Eventually, the same hardworking server came back to check on me (probably sensing I was ready to walk out), and actually had to yell across the restaurant to get Mel's attention. Mel responded with, "That's your table," in the most unbothered tone and then slouched off back to the kitchen, where she seemed to spend most of her time hiding. It was honestly disappointing to witness. Thankfully, the first server--Rosie--took it upon herself to help me, apologized for the situation, and even rushed my order. She was excellent. Meanwhile, I watched Mel dismiss other guests who were clearly looking for help, which was frustrating and unfair to her coworkers. I'm giving 4 stars only because of Rosie. Servers like her go above and beyond, and it's a shame that others on the floor aren't carrying their weight. She deserves the recognition. read more
