I can't believe it's taken me so long to review Sammy's. It is our most favorite breakfast/lunch spot. We moved a bit further away but totally worth the 30min drive- it's just a little treat for ourselves during the week when we don't have the kids. Anything and everything is fantastic on the menu. They have your typical breakfast but also varying options, and ingredients mixed together that you wouldn't think would be delicious, but it is. Seasonal menu changes- it screws me up every time bc there are too many good options and I have difficulty choosing just one. Obviously, coffee is local and delicious. Any toast/muffin that comes with a meal is always homemade, or from a local bakery. Staff is always super friendly and very attentive. Update- I started this review months ago and never posted (lol oops!). Came back on to make sure I have raved about this place. If I was on death row, Sammy's would be on my list of last meals. The Garlic Bene comes topped with crispy garlic crumbles and--get this--an actual mozzarella stick for good measure. Meanwhile, the brisket on the Brisket Bene was insanely tender and packed with flavor. Service was excellent and the ambiance was typical diner decor. ​Pro Tip: Ask for their house-made hot sauce. We came here for brunch because it was highly recommended and their menu looked really good. It was great from start to finish! I ordered a weekend special soup and sandwich. It was tomato bisque with a sausage and egg sandwich. My wife ordered the avocado toast with salad. We also ordered their stuffed French toast special which was cinnamon raisin bread stuffed with strawberry cream cheese filling and peach compote butter. I know that sounds like a ton of flavors but it was SO GOOD! My soup was amazing and the sandwich was perfectly cooked and wasn't messy or anything. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly and the avocado was just right. Our food came out very quickly. Our waitress was very friendly, helped with recommendations, and kept the coffee coming! Sammy's new menu drop review! I probably should have taken pictures of the new menu! I tried the garlic lovers Benedict and surprise, surprise, Sammy has done it again! The flavor combo in this is perfect, with the garlic bread base, the crispy mozzarella, the perfectly poached eggs, sauce and veggies. It all compliments each other so well. It came with a very fresh and seasonal fruit cup. We have come to expect absolute perfection from Sammy's dishes and this was no exception. We also tried the new zucchini fritters from the lunch menu, but were so excited to try them, I forgot to take a pic. They are described on the menu as zucchini fritters with cheese, but really they are fried cheese with zucchini, which is definitely how I like it. Idk what the sauce is that it comes with but i would eat it with a spoon! They are a definite hit and I plan to order them every time I go, with an extra side of sauce. read more

I lived around the corner from Sammy's Bullfrog Diner but never went because it was always packed with a line of people waiting. Well I took my friend there for his birthday. We were lucky while it was busy it was a short wait. And let me tell you the wait was worth it!! Our server Natalie was attentive and kind. Our food...OMGOSH!!! Outstanding. The Beef and Reef was shredded short ribs on a slice of sourdough bread. Topped with 2 poached eggs and a rosemary hollandaise sauce that was to die for. It also had shrimp wrapped in bacon and a side of potatoes. The servings allowed us to both bring home leftovers of which I ate for dinner. Highly recommend Sammy's. Go!! read more

This is more of a 3.5. I've been hearing about Sammy's for quick some time, so I decided to stop in today for brunch. It was packed in there, but we were able to get 2 seats at the bar right away. The atmosphere is cozy, eclectic and no frills - think hole in the wall. The menu contrasts that nicely. The staff all seemed friendly, helpful and good at what they're there to do. We got the Dutchman Omelette and the Wilford Brimley. The portions are large and the food was good. The potatoes were crispy but under seasoned. I may return to try one of their specials. read more

This my first exploration of Harleysville , PA, brought me to Sammy's Bullfrog Cafe, the anchor tenant in a small commercial strip. The place was jumping on this Sunday morning, with buzzers handed out to customers to await a vacant table or stool at the counter. A solitary traveler, I was lucky to grab a spot quickly and belly up to the rear bar with high stool to rest my bottom. Staff was friendly and efficient, pouring my coffee in one of their hundreds of old mugs and taking my breakfast order for the Sweet Maple Omelette (Maple Sausage, Sweet Potato, Bell Pepper, Fried Onion, Vermont White Cheddar, Maple Bacon Jam, Red Bliss Home Fries, Wheat Toast). It was placed before me 5 minutes later. Great meal! All the ingredients were fresh and likely at a nearby farmers market earlier that morning. All the flavors were recognizable and harmonized well. Yet, the mild sweetness suggested the need for a little offsetting heat. I asked for hot sauce, and was asked by the lovely server whether I preferred their homemade scovils or small commercial bottles? How would I know, but why not go for the gusto and try their own creation?! It arrived deep red in its own long narrow glass cylinder. It was excellent and was the perfect complement to the egg platter. Definitely added what my tastebuds needed. Beyond that, the Red Bliss Home Fries had great texture, softness with modest crunch and wonderful flavor. With strong Bunn drip coffee, good toast and a generous spooning of the Maple Jam Bacon atop the omelette, this was a superior fantastic morning meal. I went here for the first time the other day and although I didn't have much of an appetite it was really good ! The building is in a strip mall and there is ample parking just be sure not to park in one of the salons designated spots. The restaurant is fairly large and jam packed with tables. We got one of the last tables by the window. Luckily we didn't have to wait. We ordered and I ordered the standard and the waitress told us it would be right out. She was not kidding. I went to use the restroom and came out and the food was already there. I have never had food delivered to me faster than at this restaurant. Everything was cooked really well the eggs were super flavorful, the potatoes had a nice crisp and the bacon was great too! It came with your choice of toast as well.
