Got my haircut today. Just about when we were finished, he took out the razor. Looks like he was nervous or not paying attention. He cut me 3 times, one pretty deep. The pic attached is of the deep cut, a few hours after. I guess the real message here is: Latinos are not welcomed. Not much with apologies either, paid $30 for the slashes and haircut. This place keeps raising the price of haircuts by five dollars every few months. NO OTHER barber shop in the area is charging thirty bucks for a basic mens haircut. I really don't like posting a negative review - BUT - I feel it my obligation to let YOU [future potential customers] know that they have [post-covid-19, July 2020], RAISED their prices from $19.00 for a SIMPLE [12 minute - crew-cut-haircut] to an UNREASONABLE $24.00 bucks for that same 12 minute SIMPLE/BASIC haircut! TWENTY-FOUR BUCKS! That's a [27%] increase over the [pre-covid] price! TWENTY-SEVEN PERCENT! When I asked him [the owner] about the increase, he said . . . "well . . . I had to pay $8,000.00 a month rent, while we were closed"! OK - I get that. And, it's an unforeseen [and regrettable] . . . COST OF BEING IN BUSINESS! My question to you, my fellow haircut consumer is . . . WHY SHOULD [WE] PAY FOR HIS LOSSES? Did he give us a 27% discount - for ALL the years they were making a [better-than-average] profit ? Sammy's is a traditional barber shop circa 1970 filled with a variety of barbers. I go to a barber named Danny who has been cutting hair for over 45 years all at Sammy's. I have spent $150.00 for a haircut and while the ambiance was superior to Sammy's the outcome was no better. Danny gives a terrific haircut all for $20.00. Great place...Great job! read more

I've been coming to the barber shop for around a year now. My barber there is José. He's an Argentinian dude who's pretty funny and likes the catch slogan, "make you look like a movie star". He definitely knows what he's doing and never once gave me a bad haircut. It's an awesome place where all the barbers are professional with plenty of gossip. read more

If you want a great close razor shave, see Gino. I've been going to him for years and he has never nicked me. Afterwards he gives you a quick upper body massage. He also cuts my hair and does a fine job. The barber shop is over all a friendly neighborhood spot and you can hear lots of gossip read more

Terrible cuts both times for my friend and I. The owners son who cut my hair both times (first seat on the left) needs to learn a thing or two about customer service. The second time I came back and told him that I wasnt happy with my cut. He copped an attitude, which I dont mind but while leaving I asked him for a 7-day free trail at NYSC which he denied me. Sammy's barbershop has been a staple of precision hair styling by all their accredited barbers. I just started going back to them because I moved away from the are and the barbers in Suffolk county suck. I was tired of a shabby haircut and went back to where I went a decades ago. Nothing has really changed except for everyone getting older lol. Roman is my barber and I love the attention he always gives to my haircut. SAMMY'S BABRER SHOP IS THE BEST ! My son and I have been coming here for about 6 years. Sam and his father David run a great, clean business. I use Sam as my cutter but will feel comfortable using any of the other barbers that work there. I am not the easiest guy to get along with nor am I the easiest guy to satisfy. But at Sammy's Barber Shop they got the right stuff to make my son and I happy and loyal customers. I don't worry about trying a different style cut with Sammy. I am confident in the experience and workmanship of the entire staff. This place is the friendliest barber shop one can ever experience.. I've seen people walk by and knock on the window and even stop in to say hello, myself included. I've seen Moms and Dads drop off their little ones for a haircut then go shopping next door. I watched Gino and Danny engaged in great conversations with some of their elderly customers while cutting their hair. Roman, Carmine, Nick, Alex, Arthur ,Isak,and Sophia are also hair cutters that work there and are also part of the backbone of the business. The place is always busy and it should be because the fantastic business that Sammy runs. It is open 7 days a week also .Another key to the business is parking, located in the Whitestone Shopping Center there is always free parking right outside the door.
