Finally had the opportunity to try Samosa Junction. It is located in a very busy strip a few doors down from New Vintage Grill. I got there about 1 to place an order to go. The server was super nice and a big cheery smile. I ordered a Vegi Samosa, chicken tiki masala, regular rice and garlic naan. The Vegi samosa was awesome. I even with the 1/2 hour it took to get home. The very smartly put them in a small brown bag so they don't steam and get soggy. The samosa was super crunchy and full of the typical vegi's. The only thing is they didn't put the green sauce in the bag. :( The chicken tiki masala was a nice size portion with tender chunks of chicken in the typical tiki masala sauce. Honestly it was just ok. Had good flavor but needed more heat. I'm asked for medium spiced but was a zero on the scale of heat. The rice as nice and fluffy and a large portion. The garlic naan fell short :( It was a little over cooked and didn't have any garlic taste. :( . All in all it was ok. I will definitely go back and give them another try and see if maybe eating there is better. The place is a little small with a large screen tv over the buffet line which right now they are not going to offer until the business picks up. There was too much food waste. I can totally understand. Service was a 5 Food was a 3

Let me just say right up front, i will mess up the names of these foods. Don't let that stop you from trying this place. No matter what you order, you will like it. The store is simple and clean. The staff is friendly. This appears to be a family-owned business. The food is made with care. The portions are satisfying. I really enjoy the flavor of Indian food and I can't quite figure out why I don't try it more often. It's proof positive that even if you can not pronounce the names, the food can still be tasty.

The butter chicken had some spice to it! I ordered to go and the portion is pretty big. The garlic naan was soft and warm paired nicely with the butter chicken. Friendly and fast service. It was a pretty clean restaurant when you walk in. Just wished they had combo options instead of having to order everything separate.

This is a really great restaurant WoW! All of the food came out hot, it was all flavorful, it all tasted amazing. Their tikka masala was my favorite very flavorful, with the paneer it also made it taste great. I tried a lot of new items this time which is always a bit scary and all of it was yummy. Service wise they were so friendly, they came to our table to talk to us, they let us try something new that wasn't even on the menu! They explained exactly what was in the food when we asked! Very very nice people and a great family owned restaurant! Inside there was lots of seating! I liked the color theme, they have TVs, a good sized parking lot! Overall as a new restaurant they are killing it! Love it!

3.5 The veggie samosas were delicious - flaky and crisp with a delicious and flavorful filling. The tandoori chicken was unfortunately dry and lacked the expected Indian spicy flavor. The dal was mild in flavor and spice (I asked for medium spice.) And it needed salt. The entrees do not come with any sides, so we ordered basmati rice and garlic naan. Both were average. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was chilly and she noticed we were cold and turned the air down. I really hope this family restaurant succeeds. They just need to be a little more heavy handed with the spices. They have the potential for 5 stars!

This Family Owned restaurant has only been open 2 weeks, but they served up some amazing, traditional Punjabi food. We had the Garlic Naan, that they made special for us, because I'm not a fan of cilantro. We also ordered a full order of Tandoori chicken, with grilled onions, in hot plate, that was absolutely delicious! The service was exemplary! We were greeted with a big smile from Neha, who graciously offered to adjust the thermostat, because it was too cold for this old man. She also turned the volume down on the TV, and put on some cool Punjabi videos, at my request. I recommend this place for fine dining in an intimate atmosphere...not super lavish, but attractive. They also have a lunch special, that we can't wait to try! The owner, was very friendly and came by to introduce himself. Check it out, before it gets too crowded!

I have no idea why it took us soo long to stop by Samosa Junction! Went this past weekend with my wife and loved it! This place has such a warm atmosphere when you walk in. We obviously ordered the chicken Tikka Masala and the Butter Chicken with rice and Garlic Naan! The butter chicken was both my wife and I favorite dish, no shade to the tiki masala which was also amazing but that creamy butter chicken is to die for! Almost forgot to mention since this place is named "Samosa Junction" we had to order samosas and talk about flavor! I want to finish off by saying, we're not super familiar with Indian cuisine but we love the flavor of everything, as a started we were given these 3 sauces/salsas and these thin crispy shells, which the waiter kindly explained what they were called and how they were made with cumin seeds and to try the sauces on them, I think I remember they were called Papadums! Highly recommend this place!

This was some of the best Indian food I have ever had. We ordered veggie samosa, butter chicken, garlic naan, and I asked them if they had aloo gobi (a personal favorite) and they said it's not on the menu but they would make it for me. The food is authentic and SOOOO good! We to go in person and sat in a booth and the server was very nice and attentive even as we waited and the owner gave us our food and was very happy about the aloo gobi. DEFINITELY coming back here!!

Delicious food Good service Low price good place to eat Perfect 10of10 Staff is very good

Excellent customer service and the food was absolutely incredible. We had the butter chicken and lamb biryani! The garlic naan so fluffy and fresh and the paneer samosas were delicious! Can't wait to go back and try more!

Everything was delicious and service was great! I'm no Indian food expert but have tried others in town. This will now be my new go-to!

Chilly Naan, Mushroom rice, Channa Masala and Butter Chicken

My husband and I love Indian food so we decided to try Samosa Junction. It's a small, but clean restaurant. We had our choice of tables to sit at. The server was friendly and very helpful. She brought us water and we placed an order for veggie samosas to start. The samosas had a great flaky outside and soft, flavorful filling. Along with the samosas the server brought out a trio of sauces to eat with the samosas. One was a mint, jalapeño and avocado sauce, one was a tamarind sauce and the third was a mango chutney. None were overly spicy but all were flavorful and complimented the samosas. My husband loved the mango chutney. For our entrees I ordered the butter chicken along with the chili naan. My husband ordered the channa masala and we shared an order of the mushroom rice. The butter chicken was more tomato forward then I'm accustomed to. It had good flavor but not as creamy as some other restaurants. My husband enjoyed his channa masala and shared it could have been spicier. We both really enjoyed the mushroom rice. It was basmati rice with nice big chunks of mushrooms. The mushrooms were cooked well and gave the rice a nice "meaty" texture to the dish. The server was attentive and helpful and we both had a pleasant experience at the Samosa Junction.

I moved out of Bakersfield but every time I visited, I had to make sure I go to this place. This time I brought my friends who also live in bigger cities, but everyone ended up falling in love with this place and couldn't stop talking about it. I'm so happy that they moved from the food truck location to a nicer place and more central to the nicer part of Bakersfield (near riverwalk) . My friends who I took to this place, still rave about the food they had here. It's so authentic, delicious, and just special. You ordered at the counter, and during lunch time there are options to get the lunch combo which are two types of dishes with rice or naan. I usually chose the usual, either tikka masala, butter chicken, or curry. But this time I wanted to try something I never got from the menu, which is the Shahi Matar chicken. Oh.My.God, it was the bomb! It's sooo good. The other thing that I always got was the veggie pakora. It goes sooo well with the curry dishes. Amazing. Services were pretty fast, around 10mins of wait during busy lunch time. If you didn't finish the food (which they give you really good portion), they have the lids for everything and ready to take home. Everytime I go back to Bakersfield, I always ensure to come here and bring my visitor friends here too. I already miss all the food here.

They have an extensive menu, and it took me a while to figure out what to order. To her credit, the cashier took her time explaining the various options available and was patient in answering my menu questions. I ended up ordering one of the lunch combos with chole masala, chicken tikka masala, and naan along with a mango lassi. I'm happy that the employee steered me away from the a la carte menu, because the lunch combo was quite a filling meal. Both the chole and chicken tikka masalas were well-seasoned, and the naan had an excellently flaky texture. The ambience was casual, and I felt welcomed by the cashier (though some of the looks by other diners highlighted how much I differed from the primarily South Asian customers during my lunch). I would definitely revisit during a future Bakersfield stop.

We started with the mini samosas which came with a sweet sauce, these are very good and it was for two for me two for the lady. 4/5 stars My wife ordered the butter chicken and the curry chicken with vegetables and rice, ans Naan. The flavor of the butter chicken was good, but with the amount of sauce they give you, there was maybe 2 ounces of chicken in the entire dish -- and I'm probably being generous. It honestly felt more like butter chicken soup than butter chicken,my wife liked it alot.. 3/5 stars for portion 5/5 stars for taste . [ ] My wife enjoyed her rice with vegetables and each plate came with a naan serving and we both gave them they tasted fresh they had garlic sauce that complimented the meal.5/5 stars That said, I've had much better butter chicken and curry chicken in Los Angeles, New York, London and Switzerland for the same money or less and with larger portions of chicken. I thought my rice would be dry,(and I was right) I ordered an extra side of butter chicken sauce for it. Had I known just how much sauce came with my wife's meal, I could have saved a few bills and just used some of hers.1/5 stars for costing me extra cash. The rice was... rice. It didn't seem to have any seasoning or flavor and I found a few crunchy bits. Maybe it had been sitting in the pot a little too long. 2/5 stars The BBQ chicken. I ordered the double BBQ chicken, and unlike most places, it came without sauce. Normally that would have disappointed me, but this turned out to be some of the best BBQ chicken I've had from any Indian restaurant or food truck. First of all, it was made fresh to order. The seasoning on this chicken was carefully crafted by the chef to let each spice stand out without overpowering the others. It was genuinely outstanding, great actually. In fact, it was so good that I came back on another day just to order it again to make sure it wasn't a fluke. It wasn't. It was just as good the second time. 5/5 stars just differently amazing. My wife wants to come back, and honestly I was pretty against the idea after the first visit. Still, based on that BBQ chicken alone, I'm willing to give them another full try. If the rest of the menu improves on a second visit, I may come back and update this review with a higher score. Overall: 3/5 stars. There were simply too many lower variables during this visit for me to rate it any higher this time around.
