In my continuing journey of trying all the Indian food I can find in Bakersfield I came across this little gem. It's located inside of a gas station/convenience store and has some cool stuff inside that you won't see other places like Indian beverages and alcohol. Struggled a little bit at the beginning, the guy that came to the counter and tried to take my order didn't seem to understand much English and after repeating the order 3 or 4 times he said ok and walked off. A few minutes later a different guy came up and took my order. I asked for chicken vindaloo and he seemed confused so I grabbed a copy of the menu and pointed at it and he promptly scratched it out with a pen and said they didn't have it. I went with the chicken curry instead and of course had to try to the samosas and garlic chili naan. -Samosas 10/10, fantastic. Great heat to them, nice and crispy, hot and fresh and packed full of filling bursting with flavor. The chutney was delicious as well. -Curry Chicken 9/10 excellent. Big big pieces of chicken in the curry, more than enough to fill me up. It was really oily which I know chicken curry has oil but it was more than I'm used to and I wish it had a little more spice. -Garlic Chili Naan 10/10 fantastic. Just so packed with flavor and perfectly cooked, not much more to say. Overall it was a good experience and I'd definitely come back to try some more menu options. They need to do a little menu updating it seems but that doesn't take away from great food that I got all for under $20. read more

Walked in not knowing they had Indian food for sale inside, but as soon as we walked in it smelled so good. We had to try it so we got the chicken tikka masala bowl and a garlic chili naan. It was very delicious and affordable. Definitely enough for 2, and paid about $22 ish. read more

If you are anywhere near Bakersfield, you have to give this gem of a place a try--authentic Punjabi food. My 11-year-old took one bite of Aloo parantha (which came with a pat of butter) and claimed it was the best thing she's eaten in a while. Gobi Parantha was so flavorful and yummy that it was gobbled up in minutes. Amritsari Kulche with Choley was absolutely divine, with a perfect char on the kulcha. This is a family-owned business with heartwarming service and food that reminds me of India, the simple golden core of India, without all the jazz hands and shiny pants. As a fan of Indian food this place has some true authentic flavors that my taste palate loves! Everything was so flavorful and I would highly recommend everything! For starters, the crispy vegetable samosas were filled with a well-spiced mix of peas and potatoes, paired with a tangy tamarind chutney. The butter chicken, which was tender and rich in a creamy tomato sauce was so good I could not stop eating it. I ordered the spice level at a medium and it was the perfect amount of heat. I was in Bakersfield for the first time this year and since leaving Kern county I have soooo missed Indian food. I picked this place because it is new, I never ate here before, and because it opens earlier than the others. I was hungry at 10am. First off, yes, it is literally located in a gas station. This is the third Indian restaurant I have eaten at that is located inside of a gas station. That makes it a little bewildering at first. You walk in and you see mostly the regular chips, soda etc., and you're thinking here? ? ? There is an area with fairly nice tables but if I lived in Bakersfield I would probably get it to go, because, gas station. I got biryani which was excellent! This is a very flavorful dish, that isn't hot or spicy. The spices tasted fresh and savory. If you are new to this cuisine and you haven't tried anything beyond butter chicken I recommend every version of biryani. The portion was very generous. read more

Awesome customer service. The nice man from this place remember who I was and exactly what I ordered the last time. The fist time we wanted to try Indian food we asked him for recommendations he kindly suggested us what to try. This second time he also helped by recommending since I wanted to try something else. Everything was super delicious!!! I'm Hispanic so trying different food can be scary but not here. He answers your questions and makes the experience that well. The food here is amazing! The service is fast. The ambiance is at a gas station but super cool. This is a high end place for this style of dining. But the food is better than most restaurants. I will make this short and sweet, I'll start by saying I did not eat there, but I ordered through Grubhub. I ordered the samosa, chicken vindaloo, chicken Tika Masala, garlic Naan, and the chili garlic naan. The food is amazing, and the flavor is top-notch. If you are nearby, I highly recommend trying it. So we were in town and decided to try this place based off other reviews and the selection of food they have. We were surprised to find that while it is a brick and mortar shop that it was inside a gas station. We somehow missed that part. We decided to stay and try it out.. best decision ever. We ordered the butter chicken very mild, garlic naan and goat halaal which the hubby said was the best he's ever had. Love the butter chicken but not a fan of the cilantro sprinkled on top... note for next time to have them leave it off. I just picked around it. The garlic naan was very good as well. They also gave us rice pudding. The hubby said it was even better than his mom used to make. The service was great and they came a few times to make sure we were happy with the food and didn't need anything else. Wish I had thought about pics but I will next time! read more

This place has quality Indian food on the quick. They don't really have "restaurant" seating, I called in my order. Ricky was very kind and his naan was top notch! They had foot traffic too which is always a good sign. Will definitely return to try something else on the menu. read more

The service here is always fantastic. We have been here twice this week, gotten different things each time, and everything has been absolutely delicious. The sauces are so creamy and flavorful, the naan is soft with that perfect char, and the meat is always fall off the bone tender.
