Glenn did a truly excellent job. He installed a new sink disposal and drain piping for that. Had to cut off the old disposal since it was badly rusted. His work is to the highest standards, as he coached his helper in many parts of the jobs. Then he fixed an old shower valve, restoring it to ease of use and correct hot/cold locations. And lastly, he cleaned out the water heater, where the drain was clogged with sediment. Also installed a pressure relief bladder. When he started to replace the completely used-up sacrificial anode rod, he did not have the unusually long non-standard part required. So he drove miles to get the right part, and returned to finish the job beautifully. All this was done for a very reasonable yet fair price. Excellent work! Thanks Glenn! read more

Most all plumbing companies try to upsell me, telling me that my house is gonna fall apart in a year if I don't spend thousands of dollars with them right away. This company tells it like it is. I called glen early Monday morning, he said he could get someone out to our home the same day. Which was nice considering we needed someone out asap. Both of our bathrooms were not functioning- both toilets and showers. Alan came out and was very friendly, he was able to get one toilet and shower in working order for us. This is the company that gave us a second opinion after the first company we hired to unclog a drain said we needed $10-20 thousand dollars worth of repairs. He showed up on time. Took time to thoroughly investigate our pipes with a camera scope. He showed us the footage of our pipes that were in good working order. He made recommendations for future maintenance and explained how our drains were set up, etc. So glad we obtained a second opinion rather than blindly trusting that other company. Had a crazy leak from an old pipe at the house where I just moved in. After searching for a while on Yelp, called them and the plumber was able to get to my house after a couple of hours. Very prompt and attentive. I wish I remembered the plumber's name, maybe it was Alan. He was very resourceful and genuinely caring to get the job done properly. What I thought would take a while to repair only took an hour and he was out the door. I will definitely be calling back with any future issues that I may have at home or work. Glen gave a very fair and competitive price and did not try to pull any fast ones by telling me a quote could not be made over the phone. After a really poor and unprofessional performance by another big plumbing outfit here in town that wasted a couple days of our time and got us nowhere we called Sampson plumbing to help with a somewhat distressing plumbing problem we were having at one of our rentals - seemingly random times in the morning water looked like it was "seeping up" through the tile floor in one of the bedrooms and it didn't smell great. Not good. We figured a sewer line had busted or the like and some very bad news was coming our way. Glenn showed up early after calling to see if we could meet him ahead of schedule and immediately started testing things out to narrow the problem down and quickly found that the problem stemmed from the sink drain in another unit in the building - leaking behind the masonry wall (behind a drywall skin) and ending up in another tenant's floor - short version he cut into the wall, found the leaking pipe section and replaced it quickly and at a very reasonable price. Wish we would have started with Sampson Plumbing, it would have saved a few days of stress and unhappy tenants. They'll definitely be our go-to plumbing outfit for all our properties here in town moving forward. read more

I think the name of guy that came to install water heater was named Alan. If not, so sorry. Anyway, guy that installed my water heater was fantastic. Polite, showed up on time and did job quick and perfect. Sadly, water heater didn't work. Turned out to be a problem with way electrician put in power bar in junction box. It was pouring rain in Tucson while they were doing job, understood how mistake happened. Who wants to mess with electric in pouring rain??? Both did fantastic jobs. So I called one day (around 11 a.m.) and asked for a plumber to unclog a bathtub drain. I was told the next day between 8:30 and 11 a.m. a plumber would come to my place, but that they would call when he was on the way. Next day, 8:30 a.m., a knock at my door tells me the plumber is there (no call ahead of time). He did not introduce himself; it took him 1/2 hr to do and that included 3 trips to his truck (for a simple unclog of a drain, it is reasonably expected that the guy would come with tools in hand). It cost $120. for a simple snaking of a drain, which probably took a total of 10 minutes to do; in addition, there was no itemization of the bill--just an unexplained total of $120.00. The outer edges of my tub were left dirty from his equipment. They were all really 'nice,' but.... This is the only time I can think of that I have been let down by yelpers. If this is what they consider "reasonable" for prices, I can't imagine what they intended to pay. read more
