We are here from Ohio, visiting friends from Alaska and Nashville. Wanted to have Sunday brunch on the water. Ribs were good. Terrible service. Chicken Nachos were HORRIBLE! There was NO CHEESE. There was NO SALSA. It was like they poured soup all over the chips. They were sopping wet and then they added NON-Seasoned Black Beans and a couple jalapeños & called them "nachos". Terrible service. Hubs got the Cajun Barramundi Sandwich. There was Nothing "Cajun" about it. The barramundi tasted like old fish from pond water. Their chicken tenders were good. And their ribs were good. Everything else was pretty much terrible. Including the service. I'm sad that we wasted 3 hours of our time, taking away from our family vacation. read more

Old hickory is a good desert very few places to eat pretty consistent with food or you have Hardee's and McDonald's

I have been here several times, I'm giving this a 5 star because I just love the seating area right by the water! It's so relaxing to watch the boats and ducks! I've had the pizza which I would not recommend. The salads are really delicious! I was gonna get the Asian sticky wings but I forgot to order them,I've ordered them before and they taste like Asian zing wings from Buffalo Wild Wings but sweeter. We didn't have reservations. We were told it would be about a 50 minute wait for a table outside. We looked around and found this place very chaotic and unorganized. We decided to leave. We were about 10 minutes away when I got a call that our table was ready. We decided to go back as we wanted to enjoy the lake view. We were taken to a table inside. When I complained I was told it would be another 45 minutes for an outside table. We left. This my be a good place for bar food. Let me start by saying I have been in "The Industry" for 34 years. It does me good to go out at least once or twice a week to see how other bars and restaurants treat their "Guest". I always sit at the Bar. Because it is my wheel house. So, I sit down. It is a Monday night not busy at all. The Bartender a young brunette that appeared to be just miserable with being there, as she pours a couple of drafts for the couple next to me and walks back and forth in front of me. She never greets me or makes eye contact. After the 10th. time by, I said; excuse me ma'am can I get Miller Lite, she eye rolled me and poured my draft set it in front me. Mind you she still has not spoken a word to me!!!! I sit in awe, from the totally rude attitude. I could here the people at the bar grumbling amongst themselves about their poor service and rudeness from this bartender. By this time my beer is empty and she still has not spoken a word to me. I ask for a menu and she eye rolled me again!! I ask her for my check. She slammed the check it front of me! Needless to say she GOT NOOO TIP!!! I actually want my .07cents back!!!! She gets THE WORST BARTENDER EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!! I wish she would have introduced herself so I could have got her name. Shame on you young miserable brunette!! Slow service but beautiful setting and great food!! We came with a group of seven and it was about an hour wait. We were able to wait at the bar, watch some March Madness and get some drinks. Great food, fairly long wait though. Only 30min for 2 on a Saturday night which wasn't bad, but once sat we didn't see a server for close to 20min. We came here for an early dinner after a fun day on the lake. The food was so fresh and delicious! The blackened salmon on the salad was perfection. One of the kids orders was delayed so our wonderful waiter Erroll was so thoughtful, he talked with the manager and not only removed items from our bill but also threw in two delicious desserts! The food is awesome! I love to eat on the outside patio. The view of the lake and boats and we feed the ducks it is just amazing.

Good food, service and plenty of boats to look at. In my opinion, this is Sam's best location, be the only one on the water.

You definitely can't beat the view, but the food is delicious too. My usual go to is the grilled chicken sandwich with their delicious fries, but yesterday I was feeling the chicken nachos! Believe me, it's enough for at least two people and it's so yummy! I also snuck a bite of my son's chicken strips that were AMAZING!! They are battered and fried with what seems like tempura . I'll definitely be ordering those next time! And if you're in the mood for pizza, the cajun pepperoni is yum too! read more

We've been twice in the last month, both terrible experiences, used to be regulars. Service is extremely slow. Today, we had guests from out of town. We were seated after a 20 minute wait. No one came to the table for over 15 minutes. We finally flagged down the guy that sat us, he was busting his tail. Everyone else walked around with frowns and appeared to not be enjoying their jobs. We eventually got the round of drinks we ordered and had placed an order for nachos. After a half hour, we went to the cashier area told the lady to tab us out and cancel the nachos if they weren't on the way out. As soon as she ran the credit card, another server walked up to her with the nachos. She told her to take them back. We asked if those were ours and she stated they were but that she'd already ran the ticket and they hadn't arrived before she did that. That waitress was extremely unpleasant. I get that places are understaffed, but at least train the ones you have to at least have some kind of decent customer service skills. read more

Went on a Friday night when it was busy. Do not recommend this place for a date. It's more a loud family restaurant. Bar is small and packed to the gills. The service at our table was very slow, especially the drinks which took forever to arrive. It was one of those things when they finally came back with the drinks you knew you had to put the food order in right away or you wouldn't see them again for a long time. Food was typical Sysco fare. It is one of the few options in Old Hickory to have a sit down meal so it gets points for that, but I think the place is more located in Midsville all things considered. We didn't even get to try the food, the service and facilities were so bad. We waited for a table for 30 mins, and were seated at a table in the middle of the main dining area ( in clear view). As we waited, a slow drip began to fall from the air conditioning above us. Eventually, I moved chairs trying to avoid it, but my daughters menu had water pooled on it when we left. We waited 15 mins, and not a single person stopped to say we'll be with you in a minute, or I'm sorry we are busy. Had that happened, I might not have been so mad. But, as I was waiting, we noticed one couple to get the manager, and explain loudly that they had been waiting for 30 mins to be served drinks, and no appetizers. Another couple was served a raw hamburger, and waited for ketchup about 5 mins before it came out. Noticing these things, we made the choice to leave- despite being almost an hour into our experience. To the credit of the management, the girls at the front apologized for the delay, and said they had no idea. They explained they were understaffed- which I TOTaLLy get. But to not say anything makes this hard to forgive. read more

I was just curious where this place was as the sign indicates that the entrance is close but the location is off to the right and to the back.
