I've been to several of the Jonathan's locations in middle Tennessee, but this review is for the Mt. Juliet location. They are all kinda the same setup, which is half restaurant and half sports bar. They have covered outdoor seating with plenty TV's to watch the game on and a full bar area as well. It's a scratch kitchen serving elevated bar food with a main menu, late night menu, daily specials and happy hour. The menu is a little overwhelming with a huge amount of food options. They serve Apps, Flatbreads, Wings, Salads, Bowls, Sandwiches, Burgers, Tacos, Quesadillas, Pizzas, Soups, Sides and Desserts. I gave a 3 star today because the wings barely had any sauce and were way overcooked and the Pizza was we got was just middle of the road ( nothing special ) The entree I got was good and the Meatball sub was good. We had a large party, some birthday decorations, and an outside birthday cake. Jonathan's was very professional and willing to accommodate our celebration. They gave us our own little room and even helped hang the decorations. The food tasted great. My order was wrong, but the Spring salad was similar enough to the Our Signature salad that it didn't really matter. The menu is pretty extensive: appetizers of all kinds, salads, bowls, soups, burgers, wraps, pizza, even pan-fried Brussels sprouts! Service was decently fast for a party our size. One guest had to remind the waitstaff about his meal, but after that, it was brought out momentarily. Price is as to be expected at this type of restaurant, and we had a 20 percent gratuity automatically added due to our party size. Atmosphere was pleasant with great pop music. For being a chain, Jonathan's does not disappoint! I think it helped having probably the best waitress on staff helping me (I forgot her name; blonde, athletic, huge smile and hustled like none of the others). Smiles every time she got to the table, checked on me and made sure we were content often never had to ask to fill my water glass and even when she was supposed to be off, continued to help her relief with my food! And all that while still smiling!! Great attitude! We were well taken care of! My coworker suggested this restaurant because they had such good food and she was not wrong. We sat in the bar area even though we were there for business and a meal. But that didn't matter. All the food was amazing! The place was full of energy as well! With tv's all around the walls, there was not an event missed. Overall, though I am not a fan chain restaurants this was a treat and would definitely revisit when near Nashville again! read more

Visiting my daughter, I treated them to dinner and this place was within walking distance. We ordered cocktails and our food choices were: Spinach dip - underwhelming, lacked flavor. French Onion soup (cup) - the smallest cup of soup I have ever seen, but my daughter found it lacked the deep, rich, meaty flavor synonymous with French Onion soup and left half of it. Fish tacos - fish to tortilla ratio was on point. The fish tacos were well dressed and the cabbage add a nice crunch. This entree was 10x better than those starters. Bam Bam shrimp - had some crispy texture even though covered in the sauce. It was a solid dish and everyone finished it off. Sides- onion rings and fries. These were standard fare. Shrimp scampi flatbread - did not come out hot and quite flabby. We decided the kitchen was having a bad night. The cocktails were fine, so the bartender was having a better night. The service was quite slow but it was a busy night, so understandable as my daughter and I both worked as servers while in college. There is many parking opportunities here as this restaurant is surrounded by other retail stores and restaurants. I included the receipt in my pictures because I want you to know about the "hospitality fee". I find this disturbing practice is increasing. In my opinion, this practice is deceptive. It makes me believe the owners or corporate office is not paying their employees what they are worth. As a former waitress during my younger years, this will only make patrons reduce the waitresses tip if they are not bold enough to have it removed. I did not see this at the time we were finishing up as we were talking and just trying to get out of the restaurant. I did not see it listed on the menu either, although most restaurants that partake in this deception has it listed in very small print somewhere on the menu. I just avoid these restaurants in Vegas - but never thought Mt. Juliet restaurants would adapt such a practice. Lesson learned. read more

Happy St. Patty's Day! We love coming to this place and tonight is no different. If you get the chips and queso, ask for the salsa. I promise you will not be disappointed. If you like cilantro, this salsa is for you! We ordered the pizza. Nothing to write home about. It honestly made me think of a boxed pizza from home. Cardboard crust with limited toppings. First time we have tried the pizza. Maybe the last. Everything else we have had here has been delicious. We came here to try a new place in MJ. This place was packed on Friday night! Come prepared to wait a bit, especially during happy hour! We were sat in about 20 minutes and had a great server. He let us know it was still happy hour and made some suggestions on what we could get. We both got Ciders, and it was a 2 for 1 deal! We both got burgers, and they were cooked well and both tasted great. The Black and Bleu smash burger had way more flavor going on, but both were good. I got the sweet potato fries which were pretty cooked. We ordered chicken tenders and fries for my son and it was a big order that he couldn't finish, but we took it home for him to eat the rest later. Overall a nice place, it's a big restaurant and it's loud, but a typical pub style. We will go again to try some other things because the menu is huge and had tons of options. read more

Nice sports bar atmosphere for dinner. We dined late on a Saturday night. Our waitress did a nice job of managing our party of eleven. She did a great job keeping separate checks for everyone. Food was okay. I had a fried chicken sandwich with bacon on it. The chicken breast was a little thin and so it was dry in my opinion. We've been to the Jonathan's in Gallatin before and we really liked that so we figured we should try the location that's closer to our house and it was equally as good. We ate outside as it was a nice night and service was good throughout the meal. I got 2 for 1 beers (always a nice touch during happy hour) and my wife got a glass of wine. We had the spinach artichoke dip for an appetizer and it was very flavorful and paired well with the drinks. My wife had a steak with a side of rice and a side salad and it was cooked well and was tasty overall. I had a southwest wrap with sweet potato fries, which was very good and something I'd definitely order again. It's a nice place for a casual meal and we'd definitely come back again. read more

This is a great place for drinks while watching a game, casual dinner with friends, or your local neighborhood go-to when you don't want to cook. The place is large and can accommodate a lot of people. A little loud, but nothing out of the ordinary for a place with tv's located throughout. Pizzas are awesome (especially the Cajun pepperoni). The large feeds 2 normal people. Also, the Bam Bam Shrimp is made fresh daily and a must if ordering an appetizer. The menu is full of options so everyone should be able to find something they like. The staff there are always very friendly and on top of things. A special shout-out to our favorite server McKella (5 stars) who is always smiling and eager to do a good job. I've been dragged here probably four times because it's right next to where I live so the convenience factor is there and they have a great patio. However, and I am not even dramatizing this it takes over 15 minutes just to get a jack and Diet Coke. if you're sitting on the patio, you should anticipate to order everything at once and have half of it forgotten. I guess they're busy inside but like you still have to make sure you're providing good service in a timely manner. Especially because their food itself is pretty gross. I really like this restaurant but every time I come in to eat and then also order food to go, it's never correct. I'm 3 for 3 on being given the wrong salad dressings for the to go salads. I asked for extra raspberry vinaigrette and they gave me extra of a different dressing? I don't get it. Why would I mix dressings? It's upsetting because I trust them enough to not check the bag but I guess I will have to start doing that if I return. I spent $110 on food in there today and this still happened. The hubby and I recently gave Jonathan's in Mount Juliet a try. There was a good crowd even though we were there at an off time. They have a pretty large menu, and it was hard to decide what to try. Our appetizer, the southwestern egg rolls, were delicious. I would definitely get them again! Our entrees were the chef salad and the smash burger. We liked them both. My only regret was getting the regular fries instead of the sweet potato fries. So many options... I look forward to returning again for some good food and good service. read more

The fact that this place currently has 3 stars on yelp is an ATROCITY. If you ask me what my go to place in all of the greater Nashville area it would be Jonathan's. Everything on their menu is absolutely delicious and I have had many things here over the years. Here are a few of our favorites: Buffalo Chicken Pizza Fajita Nachos (my all time favorite here) Shrimp Tacos Greek Pizza Mozzarella Sticks Side Salad with their drool worth ranch Zesty Turkey Club Philly Cheesesteak Horseshoe Really too many things to name to be honest. They have 2 for 1 beer and wine from 3-7 every day. Great atmosphere for watching sports. We seated ourselves and were a little concerned staff wouldn't notice because this place was busy...but they did :) Waitress did not introduce herself and she seemed tired. Her energy was depleted. I get that. We ordered the brussel sprout appetizer and that was pretty decent. We also ordered some shrimp egg rolls that were just not too appetizing, although plating was great. The Cajun wings were dry and my partners Buffalo burger and sweet potato fries were just ok. The potatoes had a texture and flavor that was not appetizing. Wonderful place to stop for lunch. We were on our way to pigeon forge from St. Louis and wanted a place offering gluten free options and something for kids. This hit it all! Quite possibly the worst lunch I've had in years. The restaurant was freezing. Apparently they didn't turn the heat on until the manager got in right before they opened. So everyone in the restaurant was eating with their coats on. Both of the dishes I wanted to order the ingredients weren't ready yet so they wouldn't be available for two hours. So I guess they don't do prep work at this restaurant. I ended up just ordering soup because it was so cold in this place. Horrible experience.
