I had to deal with T-Mobile this time so it's always a headache getting a phone transferred. The store itself I did find many good values. But four pair of Hurley shorts for my husband for under $20 each as well as two shirts. I think they were $12 each i'm not sure I'll ever get used to not having bags provided, but I do like their skin as you go service so you don't have to wait in the line. One complaint I do have is the parking lot is a mess and you can never find a place to park no matter what day or what time you go. read more

We have been loyal business members of Sam's Club for over 25 years, but that ends today. We also have a Costco membership, and my husband has been telling me for years to cancel Sam's. I held onto it because I liked Sam's--until today. I was purchasing a simple $4 bag of lemons. After waiting in a long checkout line, I then waited in yet another line just to exit the store. When the employee at the door checked my receipt, she noticed the lemons hadn't been scanned. I understand that the cashier made an honest mistake, and I understand that the door attendant was simply doing her job. The highly technical door-scanning system flagged the unpaid item, and protocol was followed. However, instead of allowing me to pay for the lemons at the door--something that would have been both reasonable and efficient--I was told I had to go all the way back through checkout and wait in line again. At that point, a simple gesture of goodwill--just handing me the $4 bag of lemons--would have gone a long way in maintaining a longtime customer's loyalty. Instead, I left the lemons behind, along with my patience for Sam's Club. So congratulations, Sam's. You just lost a 25+ year customer over a $4 bag of lemons. Hope that works for you. We'll be taking all our business to Costco from now on. read more

I've been a Sam's member since 2007, this location is the worst managed I have ever seen. Always out of stock of items, carts every where throughout the parking lot, bathrooms are nasty, etc.. I will not be renewing and will move over to COSTCO this July. read more

This place has lowered its standard year after year, customer service has always been horrible but I would guess that as soon as Costco opened they just got in to a dive and haven't recovered. I know that due to Covid there's shortages all around but as you can see in the photos that I attached it looked as if we where in Full Pandemic Mode. Everything in the poultry area looked just deserted. I went in because this day Costco was already closed and I needed something for work so I had to go, my membership wasnt even active which can give you an idea of how long I haven't gone to this place, luckily my mother in law who is visiting was with us and she had hers because I wouldn't pay to activate my membership for a one time stop nor for the 5 things which Sam's has and Costco doesn't. read more

Sam's Club cost a membership price but is well worth it. Everything is pretty easy to find and is more reasonable in bulk. On Saturdays they give taste tests on every corner...but they are also very busy on the weekend. So go there with your patience. Another great thing is the area where they sell slice pizza, Nathan's hot dogs, warm salty pretzels, and a drink. They are so resonable and the food tastes really really good. read more

The mere fact that such a large store and a cousin to Wal-Mart doesn't accept Visa or American Express, leaves me giving this store only two stars. This is the ONLY place I have seen that accepted credit cards and NOT Visa... and I've had credit card experience on 5 continents! Being a store geared to business, I would have also thought they would take American Express since that is the popular business card. Nonetheless, its a Sam's Club... similar to all the rest....must be a member, buy in bulk, good deals on electronics and free food samples on the weekends. read more

I love this Sam's Club - it is large, the stock is always full, and when you go there are tons of samples! The self-checkout is also great here - lets you move through at your own pace. Overall, Sam's definitely gives you the bang for your buck - items are larger in size, discounted, and the flash savings that Sam's does are great! How is Sam's versus Costco? This was my first experience at a Sam's in the Bluegrass state. The setup is pretty much standard Sam's: wide and long aisles filled with massive quantities of everything you could ever want. Except wine? Where is it? Oh, its next door in a completely separate building (thank you KY liquor laws). Haven't been to Sam's club for a while since daughter got me the Costco membership. Get in with husband, and surprising find that Sam's club's layout has been changed a bit. Seems they are learning fromCostco, build a dedicated place for veggies, and more than Costco, they have a dedicated place for dairy! Used to shop here a lot, and quite familiar with the Florence store. Now i had shopped in Costco a lot, i find it feel good to come back, every aisle is clearly labeled about the product, which is neat. I like this much more than Costco. Now Sam's also start to do food tasting. Several station are doing that. I guess that's something copied from Costco? One good thing i like Sam's the best is they have self check out, which is super easy and fast! Now their gate receipt checking person also seems equipped with some scanner to scan your invoice and one item in your cart. I'm not sure what that will do.. but seems more high tech than Costco. I bought Olay face cream for friend in Costco recently as Costco give 8 dollar discount, now in Sam's, i found their normal price is the same as Costco after 8 dollar deduction! I love this store. The staff here is friendly, and there are always lots of good finds. Especially on the clothes! I just bought a swimsuit there yesterday- 2 piece Tankini- for 26.98! For BOTH pieces! We often are able to find name brand clothes there for next to nothing. I got my mom and myself Eddie Bauer Fleece pullovers for 6.81 right before Christmas! We have done a lot of clothes shopping at Kohl's before, but the quality just was never there. At Sam's we find much better quality clothing at MUCH better prices. But don't every one rush there- I don't want you all dressed like me! The quality of their meat and bakery items is also outstanding. We have gotten many birthday cakes and cupcakes there, and they are always beautiful and delicious. There is no better food on this earth than their ribeye steaks. We typically go to Sam's once or twice a month, and stay stocked on all of our essentials and baking goods by buying them in bulk. Then if I decide I want to bake cookies or a pecan pie, I know I have the ingredients to do it because I just bought a 5 lb bag of brown sugar at Sam's. I have been a member now for 12 years, and plan to stay that way. This is a great store, with high quality items at amazing prices. read more

I am so impressed with their level of customer service I signed up for Yelp and this is my first review. I made the mistake of buying my tires from the Sams Tire dept in Oakley. They didn't even balance the tires. Just slapped them on. I thought I would see if another Sams was better and it is like night and day. Greg and Doug are excellent mechanics. They told me it would take an hour and it only was a half hour and the car now rides down the road smooth as silk. The rest of the store is phenomenal as well. read more

What can I say, I love Sam's! Everything sold at Sam's is sold at an amazing price. They sell a lot of food, electronics, household supplies, books, DVDs and the list goes on. They have really good deals with warranties and you can trust that everything that they sell is of good quality. They don't sell anything that's cheaply made, and I can say without question that I've never seen anywhere with better deals. Some people say that their family isn't big enough to need to go to Sam's since a lot of stuff is sold in large quantities. Well, my family only consists of my husband and I and I shop there all the time. There are some items, like cheese that I refuse to buy from anyone else. I just went to Sam's last night so by looking at my receipt I can share some of their wonderful prices. Shredded Cheese - 10 LBS. - $10.66 Sliced American Cheese - 5 LBS - 160 Slices - $9.56 Beggin Strips 3lbs (48 oz) - $14.98 (Petsmart sells them at $12.99 for 25oz, so this is almost double the amount for $1.99 more!) Chicken Breast - $1.97/LB (The Chicken Breasts are huge! I chop them in half) Apple Juice 2 pack of 96 fl oz each - $4.48 Also Their brand of products, Member's Mark are just as good if not better than a lot of name brand stuff for way cheaper. For Example: Zyrtec at Walmart is $26.94 for a 45 day supply. Member's Mark generic version is $17.50 for a 350! That's almost an entire year's worth! I have severe allergies and I've tried everything and Zyrtec is by far the best. Ask any pharmacist, generic for is exactly the same ingredients so it's exactly the same thing, but for those picky people who want name brand only, they sell 2 packs of Zyrtec so you get twice the amount as Walmart for the same price. Sam's also has a pharmacy and they have the best prices on meds of course. I would also recommend going on the weekend when they have tons of samples! There are samples in about every isle, at both ends of the isle a lot of times. They also have a large concession stand where they sell drinks, pizza, hot dogs, pretzels, salads, ice cream and other items at cheap prices in case you're hungry/thirsty while you are shopping and again, the stuff is good and cheap. And as I finish singing their praises lol, of course the negative is that you have to pay $40.00/ year for a membership. I can honestly say though that it is well worth it. At the end of each year when it's time for renewal, they send you a print out showing an estimate of how much money you saved comparing prices to other places. If you're still not sure if it's worth it, you can either go with someone you know who has a membership, or go in and get a one day visitor pass so you can check out their prices yourself before paying anything. One other complaint i have isn't with them, it's with their tire department. I have never purchased new tires before, only used so I didn't know that I needed to make an appointment. I called ahead and asked them what time they were open til, and if they had a specific tire available. That should let them know I wanted to come in that day right? But they didn't tell me I needed an appointment. We drove up there on a donut and we didn't know how long it would last and they told us there were no appointments available for that day and they couldn't squeeze us in. Their tire prices were the best deal, but their customer service was awful. We ended up going elsewhere for tires. Still all of that doesn't stop me from giving Sam's 5 stars, I just wish I could give their tire department a separate score and I'd give them 2 stars. I went early to Florence Ky location to buy client holiday gifts prior to some meeting today. The old ladies at the door refused to allow me to shop because it was 8:30 and you have to wait until 10am unless you have Plus membership! Total BS! I've spent thousands of $ at that store over the last 15 years. No I don't want Plus membership, but if Sams thinks the way to sell Plus memberships is to turn away customers who have regular membership, that's the dumbest policy ever. I closed my account with Sams today I bought tires for my car and I can't get any service from the auto department. no one in automotive department would answer the phone. I would leave a message to call me back so I could make a appointment.I did this for four days and still no return call. I finally had to go to the store to get my tires worked on and no one would help me even then.I watch them sit by the phone and not answer it.They said they where understaff and it would be a week before they could fix my tire and get a rotation and balanced.I'm sure I'm not the only person upset about this. I just left Sam's club pharmacy. They told me they could not fill my Rx because they don't keep it in stock because it is so expensive. $1250 for 14 days! The pharmacist there told me she would call the Dr and ask them to rewrite the Rx as separate inexpensive drugs rather than a combination in 1 pill. I can get the same thing for less than $75. This is awesome. Thanks for taking the time to help me and provide an affordable solution!! I really dislike the new Costco copycat style checkout, member on one side and cart on the other. So on December 23 rather than having 4 full service checkout lanes open there are only 2, with the other 2 employees unloading the carts. Also if you have a purse, umbrella and coat you either have to let your belongings be whisked away from you along with the cart or hang on to it all while you wait for the very long line to move. I like the goods Sam's carries but hope they change back the checkout system. read more

You don't save anything if you're charged a new membership fee every time you're in the store! I purchased my LAST Sam's membership about a year ago. A few months into the membership, my wife was told that our membership was expired, and they charged her for another membership! I spent hours with Sam's trying to straighten it out... or so I thought. Recently my wife was again told that our membership was expired, and they charged her for another membership! I had to spend hours sorting it out... again! The "service" staff was QUITE unhelpful, and although the memberships were purchased with a credit card, the customer service manger told me that if I didn't produce the printed receipt that Sam's was going to effectively steal another 45 bucks from me! Fortunately, I was able to produce that receipt, and after ANOTHER trip back to Sam's I was able to get another refund credit. My Sam's membership expires (for real) next month, and I will never shop there again. I've read good reviews about Costco, and I will likely give them a go. read more

Each time I randomly come across SAMs I find myself more and more disappointed. The building looks more run down, the employees don't seem to know what they are doing, and the cheap company doesn't even give you bags or boxes for your purchase. The prices are not that low when compared to prices In the market and the choices are limited so why shop there again? The parking lot has deteriorated so much that you need a 4*4 to navigate. Oh I forgot to mention its on a steep slope. My belongings were blown out of the kart as well when returning to my vehicle, again no bags to help. SAMs is just one of those old retired companies that won't go away. I will never be a SAMs customer and I urge everyone to steer clear as well. read more

Throw in savings on optometry services, prescription eye wear and the occasional larger purchase like tires or a television and it's a bargain. And now (at least in this location) free WiFi has been added, so you can Yelp, Tweet or Facebook to your heart's content while you shop. Or just go in on a weekend morning and cruise the food sample stations for a quick, free brunch, or stop by the snack bar for a quick slice of pizza, hot dog or drink at prices you just won't find at other places. You won't find everything you might be looking for here, and you need to be aware of item pricing, because buying in bulk is not always the best route, but Sam's Club offers enough items at a large enough savings that it is a winning solution for us. read more

My experience was the cashier was slow slow slow. All this while 4 other employees just stood around looking at hom without offering to open up and help.
