We stopped in for drinks and a bathroom break and decided to sign up for the Royal Farms rewards app so we can earn points whenever we're back in the area. The store itself was clean, well-organized, and overall a really pleasant place to visit. The customer service we encountered was friendly and welcoming, which made the quick stop even better. We have witnessed an extremely fast employee turn over, over the years with most all employees being or having been true short timers. We have seen good staff and bad staff. We have seen staff that appear to care and others who are just looking to have their shift end. Specifics to point out their slushie machine has not worked for going on to four or so weeks! Oftentimes, their chicken has looked like it has sat out for an hour or so. Their potato logs...are hit or miss. We have also noticed that there have been numerous times where a single staff member had been left repeatedly alone for late night busy shifts. This sort of business practice is not only insane and unfair to the lone employee but it is likewise extremely unsafe for them. They did have one staff member though that really stood out. He continually worked the night shift many, many times alone. He was always on top of things. The store itself was always in order and clean under his watch. The chicken was always fresh and in good supply. The potato logs again, were likewise always fresh and plentiful under his watch. We repeatedly saw that he was bombarded with customers placing orders but yet, he was always pleasant and always prepared to provide them with excellent service and meet their needs. Sadly, as of late, we have not seen him there. My guess is that he got overworked and worn down doing so many shifts alone. It does currently appear that he may have been replaced with some new employees who definitely seem unknowledgeable about food preparation, quantities or store maintenance. In its current state between current staff and store maintenance I leave this location a single star with a single suggestion... fix the slushie machine...having it not working for over a month during the hot summer is not only bad business but is ridiculous!

They had a sign for homemade tomato bisque, and it was rainy and I really wanted soup. My husband went in and the sweetest staff there helped him with placing an order for a sandwich and some soups. He came back with three bags full of food. You know what? Those soups were really damn good. He got the chicken noodle soup and I got the tomato bisque. We also got a small to go sandwich with a drink and chips. The tomato bisque soup was wholeheartedly restaurant style. It was creamy and had a heavy tomato base and it definitely needed a grilled cheese to go along with it. The cup size was very generous. The chicken noodle soup with pretty hearty as well lots of noodles and lots of chicken in it. I just purchased 2 GLASS cokes, they were NOT double bagged and I did not see the two holes in the bag, I picked the bag up off the counter and one of the glass cokes fell through the hole, busted everywhere, glass got into my shoe, cut my toe, I asked him if it was okay if I went and grabbed another coke, he told me no, it was MY fault that I needed to be more careful. Would not give me the managers number, was unapologetic and RUDE. I thought rocky was a nice person, not after this, I am thoroughly disgusted. This was how the bag was after the incident, I didn't even take a step, as soon as I picked the bag up, it fell through, so please explain to me how that is my fault.

I like how this location is nestled in there. When I say that, I mean the road on the back side of the building. That road is welcoming compared to the main stretch that this faces. After being at another location of the birthplace of Sheetz and coming upon a location that still had fresh brewed iced tea I was still in hopes that not all locations switched over to the dispenser. However, I was not in luck at this location. I was greeted by that disgusting Gold Peak dispenser again. I did end up grabbing some food to go home on. Even if it was without their sweet nectar. But back to the location, this made for an easy off/on the highway for me. Or, if I wanted to waste more time, I could take the backroads from here to make it home.

It's like the crips and bloods only with gasoline and food over drugs. There are now three Sheetz on the same patch of road, all within two miles of each other. So I'm happy! They also offer coffee, soft drinks, snacks, beer and wine, lottery tickets, gasoline and much more. If you are passing through Frederick, Maryland, it is an ideal stop off of Interstate 270 for a traveler in need of fuel or a bite to eat or a restroom break. They have a great abundance of fuel pumps offering three grades of gasoline as well as diesel fuel and charging stations for electric vehicles. Prices are competitive. Sheetz stores are located in Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia with plans to expand into Michigan in the near future. Part truck stop, part convenience store, and part liquor store (!!) this place is a respite from the cookie cutter travel centers anchored along I-81. Perfect place to pick up staples like bread and milk - and alcohol if you're not subject to DOT regulations. They were running a rum tasting yesterday that looked quite lovely but we demurred for obvious reasons. One thing about me: Ima stay in compliance. Traveler's, Blanton's, and a bunch of other well reviewed bottles. They carry Buffalo Trace in all size bottles and there are gems from around the US. The prices are all over the map, with some great deals and some moderately inflated retail prices that are in the "secondary market" price range. If you are looking for something special --and are open minded-- you will find some nice choices. Some of the rarest (or "allocated") are on the register side and thus might be impossible to see ...so ask! Bot the best prices for the hard to find bottles, but you will find some unobtaneum if you make a few visits. You are welcome.
