I do not personally have a Sam's membership so I went tagalong to grocery shop with a friend. I usually do my shopping at Costco and did not plan on buying anything while we were in store. Thankfully, Sam's had a great selection of stuff and I couldn't help myself. I ended up spending over $100 while in store. We even decided to check out the food court while we were there. There were a few things that I personally did not love about shopping here and then there are other things that I did genuinely enjoyed about this store! Sam's offers a variety of snack chips at an affordable price. 50 chip box for $16. Nutri-grain bars for $10. 24 ok Gatorade sugar free $24. I couldn't leave hubby's nestle quick 12pk $11. I got a host of fruits and vegetables. Large watermelon for $5. I pray it's sweet. Definitely monies well spent. I took home a freshly baked 3 meat pizza for $9.65. First time visiting Sam's club and it has pretty much everything Costco has even their own gas station. Everything is slightly cheaper like their dairy, veggies, and some home goods like detergents and soaps. I am not a Sams club person, I prefer Costco but today I'm here at Sams club and learned my lesson pretty quick to not go here at 11am, this place is like a Zoo! I have been a member of Sam's club for decades and never have I had an issue like the one I am having now. I purchased tires from the club on Youngerman circle in Jacksonville only to find out that the location could not install them. I requested a refund which was processed on the spot on 3/8/2025. The club says receipts are not provided for refunds. As of today I still do not have my funds and no one at the club can seem to help get this refund processed. I keep being told about problems with the system in Tires and Batteries, and it can take 1 day, 3 days, 4 days or 10 days to hit my account. Member services placed me on hold for almost 20 minutes when I asked to speak to a Regional Manager. This is UNACCEPTABLE on several levels!! I have been patient throughout this whole ordeal although it is asinine to sell someone a product and related service only to tell them you cannot provide said service. Then to be completely lax about refunding my money is ridiculous. I would appreciate being connected with someone from Sam's club who can resolve whatever internal issues you guys are having and get my refund processed immediately. read more

About 4 months ago, almost every time I called the liquor store would answer my calls (I can't remember the lady's name) & transfer my call to the proper department. I will say the gas is typically higher at this one, then the one on Beach Blvd, and with one pump it makes traffic a little long to wait. It is cheaper then the average gas though, still. The bathrooms could use some TLC. They definitely don't compare to their competitors Costco. More like your average Walmart store bathroom, the stalls need a good scrubbing. However, on the plus, they do have some things that Costco is not offering. I enjoy the chips in 2 bags, as opposed to the big giant bag. For one, they go stale in the big bag, if you don't eat them fast enough. As well, when they are the smaller bags, you can choose between 2 different flavors. Good selection over all, and comparable prices. Samples are always a plus as your strolling along. You might even try things that will get you to impulse buy. The exit seems to run a bit smoother as well, getting you out the door, in a good manner of time. I also appreciate that if you have 2 receipts, you don't have to pull them both out. I like this Sam's so much better than I do the one on the Northside on Busch Drive. It's a pity we don't live near this one anymore. =( I have never had trouble getting good customer service here. Employees seem to go out of their way to help. Maybe I've just been lucky, but I've never had to wait long to check out and I've never had to wait long at the Cafe either. I know they do get really busy at times, that's why I say I guess I've just been lucky. But hey, that's been my personal experience. Like all Sam's, we always go in and spend way more money than we initially intended. We do save money buying in bulk though. The store is clean and organized. Tons of things too look at. I can easily spend a couple of hours in here! As someone else mentioned, they DO NOT accept VISA. Make sure you make a mental note of that and bring another method of payment. Of course they accept cash. They also accept checks, debit cards, and MasterCard. Getting help when I've bought way too much stuff and the husband isn't with me has never been a problem either and they've always been happy to assist. I think the worst thing about this Sam's club is their parking. It always appears to be so freaking congested and granted if I have to drive my truck then I will need to park further away from the building. The photo department is equally as bad. They don't have anyone staffed in the photo department after 6 I believe and during normal business hours you will need to find an employee to page someone for help. We had to do two attempts for Passport photos. Unfortunately the Costco down the street does not have a photo department. They do have a gas pump here as well as a liquor store. I do prefer Member Mark's product over Kirkland's for quality and durability - Also Sam's club has great steaks for a great price. Luckily I have the choice to either come here or Costco. read more

The store has quite a good selection and it is always clean. There is always a ridiculously long line for the café though. You can count on waiting for a solid 10 to 15 minutes for your food. It's always the same two people back there and the management never seems to want to help them. I have called the management from the line multiple times to tell them there is more than 15 people waiting in line and they never send anybody over to help. The prices are great though. If you catch the butcher on a good day you can get them to hand slice for you a whole rib into rib steaks whatever size you want. We come here at least two or three times a month. They have expanded their meats and cheeses section and have quite a few imported lunch meat and cheeses now. read more

I truly love this store. It's an adventure ever time I shop here. But today was unusually upsetting. Amongst $200 in other items, I bought toilet paper. I typically buy what's on sale. I attempted to use the app to utilize the "Scan n Go" feature but it didn't apply the correct discount on a clearance item I bought so I did the self checkout. Well, the toilet paper price tag said I can save $3 and pay $16.96 for a 32-pack of Quilted Northern. Yay! Well, not so fast...after reviewing my receipt it didn't give me the $3 off. So I went to the Customer Service desk. This lady named Yvette was not very nice. First she asked me how many toilet paper packages was I buying, I looked at the 8 items in my cart and looked back at her and said One. I mean why did that matter? Then she said I must've grabbed the toilet paper that's not on sale. I offered to run back and snap a picture of the price tag but she assured me that it's listed in the store sale flyer. Sure enough she found it but it's for the 36-roll pack. So she told me that I need to make sure I "read things." Well, I was positive I knew what I read. So I marched back there and took a picture of the price tag and marched right back up to customer service and coincidentally the same lady assisted me. She seemed so adamant not to give me back three dollars that she said she had to look in the system to see the history and see how many packs of toilet paper we bought because we are not allowed to buy more than three packs at that discounted price. I have never heard of this rule before but OK. She asked me if there was anyone else on the account who may have bought toilet paper that shares the same account with us. Now I bought 30 or more shop lights for our warehouse and they never told me I had a limit, and I have bought those shop lights on sale and even bought some more at this trip. After her extensive research in the computer system this lady proceeds to tell me that she guesses that she will have to give me back my $3. So she was oddly determined to not give me back $3. I still love this store despite this experience. read more

I think the rating description sums it up - I'm a fan. We renewed our Sam's membership and shopped around - ended up spending $150 unexpectedly... but that's Sam's! So many good things and being hungry while grocery shopping add up to a big bill! We have our few favorite things that we can get at Sam's that we can't find at places like Publix or Winn Dixie, so we think our membership is worth it. The prices are great on some things, not so great on others, but that's why we don't just shop at one place. The bulk buying comes in handy on items that don't expire quickly for us because we are only two, but since we don't go through as much food as a family of 5, we can only buy so much before the pantry is full! The variety of items is always great - we even ventured out and bought coconut flour to try in place of wheat flower. There is something for everyone at Sam's! We love the samples that Sams does - on some days you can pretty much skip lunch and just fill up on them! They are usually healthy things they are trying to promote, like their chicken, turkey burgers, granola bars, etc, so you don't have to feel guilty for piling up the sample cups... =) They DO NOT take VISA cards, so you must have a Master Card or you need to pay by cash or check. Who doesn't take VISA, seriously?!? The staff was for the most part courteous and helpful. The cashier seemed a bit ridgid, but I would be too if I had cart after cart of overflowing items to scan in a short period of time. We will of course be back! read more

Sam's Optical were professional and courteous to my mom and I when we came to get my mom's vision checked. They get quite busy so I highly recommend scheduling an appointment before being seen. They do offer occasional promotions. For instance, right now, you can save $50 with a contact and eyeglass purchase. I have not purchased contacts from them however, so I am not sure how competitive their prices are. My mother's bifocal lenses without insurance cost $110 each, not including the cost of the frames. However, my mom opted for a lighter weight lens because we were told with her prescription, the plastic lense would be thicker and heavier. I can't recall the price for regular plastic lenses, but the discrepancy was not significantly big. Like Costco, the optometrist is a separate entity that collaborates with Sam's Optical. Our optometrist, Dr. Jennifer Morgan was very friendly, patient, helpful, and professional as well. read more

During members hours this place is a breeze though. However if entering during normal hours can be a bit hectic. The line is so long and I am not sure why the registers are never opened. The price is great on a lot of items such as candy, food, wine, and meats. I actually purchased a fettuccine chicken Alfredo and some variety of cupcakes. I must say I was very impressed.
