Now that BJ's has a mobile app that allows you to scan the barcodes of each item before you put it in your cart, the days of waiting in long check out lines is over! The check out process is as easy as confirming which card from your virtual wallet you want to use and having the lady who checks receipts as your exciting scan your phone. We love Bjs northside but happened to be on this side of town for errands and I will say the selection in the store was great and the associates were amazing.....stay far away from the gas station. This place is a CLUSTER. We waited over 30 mins for gas! Thank gosh we weren't in a hurry or we would have had to leave. Please do better at helping the traffic situation. BJ's Wholesale Club is located in a spacious shopping plaza on Blanding Boulevard. I have been a member of this wholesale club for a long time and have never had an issue with this business. You can get some great prices here, but you can also do better in a traditional supermarket like Publix is Winn-Dixie especially if they have a BOGO (buy one, get one free) deal going on. The meat here is good quality and they have enough to keep you interested. Again, some things are better priced elsewhere (including their meat), but it is worth checking out. The cold cuts are good, as well. If you are already a BJ's Wholesale Club member, this location is definitely worth checking out. If you are not a member, I would recommend it. It is a good buy all around and I save more than the cost of my membership. read more

Just a quick stop to look for Christmas presents. While I was there I found a nice deal on Fresh Butterball Turkey for Thanksgiving. I don't frequent this store in Orange Park. My go to store is on Phillips Highway. What I like about this store is the customer focus by all staff. I was checking out and had trouble with the self checkout register. It did not take long for a staff member to jump in to help me. While she was helping me, she saw me carrying a heavy Turkey and right away she offered me a cart. I don't get that in any other BJS, here in Jacksonville, or the other states I've lived in before. I was so impressed that I felt compelled to write a review. From the check out lady to the one at the door checking your receipts, to the guy I was watching help me a customer carry out a mattress while at the store; they are truly focused on the customer. Quite impressive. A while back I went to another BJs because they had a deal in tires. I was so disappointed at the lack of customer focus. So I went to this one at Orange Park and was able to get my new tires at a good price without too much trouble. Not all BJs are created equal. If this BJs store was closer, I'd be there more often. read more

My third all-time favorite Wholesale Club in jax! What not to love: bulk buying (and savings) of all those household/bathroom/kitchen products like TP, paper towels, tissue boxes AND food! IMO, best perk is easy access from Blanding Blvd to BJs gas which is always less than local prices (typically 5 cents less). Checkout is a breeze and I LOVE that BJs only checks your BJs card when you pay and checkout and NOT when you enter the store (so you can bring guests no problem if you want to)! read more

Stopped at their propane station for a refill. My wife went inside to let the attendant know we were there. He never said a word about prepaying. She came back out to the car and we waited for fifteen minutes and no one came out. She went back inside and was yelled at for not paying first. We left with no propane. Ordered a wedding cake for a small ceremony, and while the second string cake decorator was all that was available due to an unfortunate injury, she did an amazing job! Thanks again Yolonda! BJ's is your below average wholesale club. We are members of Costco (#1), Sam's (#2) and now BJ's (#3). While it is clean and organized, it is small and the selection is lacking. It's always empty when I go and I don't see any employees walking around that I could ask for assistance either. The employees seem unhappy and the fact that you have to find your cart before entering is just annoying. They do have a small selection of organic items at decent prices which is nice and their gas is cheaper than anywhere else usually. We were given the membership as a gift, but I don't think that we will renew once it expires. I do like that they don't request to see your card upon entering and the self check out is a nice option. But that's not good enough to keep my business. read more

I started going to BJs close to 20 (!?) years ago when my parents were members. We were a family of 6. Now, it's only me, the hubs, and my daughter. But I appreciate a stockpile and hate running out of things. I like to have a couple hundred tampons on hand as opposed to my roommate in college bought a box each time of month she needed them. What!? Where's the preparedness for the (un)expected!? (Girl Scout Motto: Always Be Prepared). I had been into Sam's a few times - members only allowed inside! Which at first, when I was younger I thought it was some cool VIP club. Yeah, not really. BJs doesn't require a membership to walk through the doors. So walk around and peruse. I've been to all 3 Jax locations (off Phillips, off Atlantic & Kernan, and here off Blanding) and this one is the best! Super nice staff (especially Linda H. at customer service). They accept cash and credit cards, unlike Costco although I hear that's in the works of changing. But my favorite is coupon stacking. Unlike the other Wholesale stores, you're allowed to use manufacturer coupons on top of the store coupons. Example: I currently hold a BJs coupon for $2 off 2 cases of Zephyrlhills Water. I also have two $1 off a case of Zeph. Water coups from the newspaper. $4 in savings, just like that! Another example is the ACT kid's Mouthwash - 3 to a pack, I can use a manufacturer coupon for each bottle of mouthwash in that 3-pack + the BJs coupon. My hubs had a Costco membership in Cali that he brought with him to FL. Nope. The simple wait to check out deterred me. There's no "running in real quick" for Costco. BJs, yes. No, BJs isn't as large as a Costco and it's not Nationwide. But it suits me just fine and I love saving money! Today, I spent $123.14 (including tax). That's the amount AFTER the $39.75 I saved in coupons! BJs also has a travel agency which is super great! It was the same (maybe lower?) than other advertised prices for our Royal Caribbean cruise. But because we booked through BJs, we got on-board-credit (OBC). I truly recommend this place! read more

BJ's seems like the redheaded step-child of the bulk warehouse store options. Its layout and offerings are so similar to Costco or Sam's club that while inside you might mistake yourself for being in another is you lose track of time. There are some benefits of BJ's, most specifically the fact that they take manufacturer's coupons, unlike the other big box stores. This could potentially be a huge money saver for people who clip coupons if the items you find match up. I can't speak from experience as to how much this can potentially save you as this was not a benefit offered for trial memberships like the one I've used to try out the store. Apparently only REAL members can have that trick up their sleeve. While at first glance everything seems pretty much identical to the other big stores, there are a few differences which equate to why I'll stick with Sam's or Costco. First of all, the cost of membership is less than Costco but slightly higher than Sam's. While all of them are fairly close to each other, I don't see a benefit to BJ's over Sam's so the extra cost doesn't add up for me. There are also drastically less BJ's throughout the nation so your access to clubs while traveling will not benefit you with them. From what I've been able to observe, pricing of goods is not consistently better at any one of these clubs than the other. BJ's is cheaper for some things but more expensive for others. BJ's tends to stock smaller versions of bulk items as well so your long-term cost might not be as good. There are plenty of websites that break this down but in the end it just didn't seem worth the money. My last complaint is that the staff weren't friendly at all. At Costco they are always nice and Sam's is hit and miss but here they were totally indifferent to me. I'll stick with Sam's or Costco for now, thanks. read more

It's a wholesale club, you fill your cart with LOTS of STUFF and hopefully you have either club coupons or manufacturers coupons or BOTH! That's the ticket.... I then pushed the cart to my car, I loaded my car up with my stuff, bought discounted gas at the BJ's pumps and got home..........exciting NO not really it wasn't meant to be exciting ok? Club was clean Good quantity of all merchandise Good cool temperature inside the club Friendly staff from stock staff, to the FREE food sample people, to the service desk. Check out was fast, all my coupons were accepted I have been a member of Sam's Club, Costco, and BJ's previously and they are all very similar and they serve a need. If you go when the club is JAMMED you might not get every item that you intended to buy. Thanks for being there gang! The BJ staff minimized our shopping dilemma! As a new transplant from the Pacific Northwest, we moved here just before Christmas. If not for the courteous, service-oriented assistants like Nick and Linda, who were priceless while I shopped for our tv's, we would have been without an enjoyable Christmas for all of the family members coming to our new home! Our belongings weren't due to arrive on time, so we had to shop for EVERYTHING to manage until they did. That included not only the basic necessities, but also a couple of tv's for the cable guy to see if we could get a signal. The staff I mention were so helpful, pleasant and endured with a smile -- Linda signed up our membership seamlessly and with a pleasant attitude the whole time. Nick..."I felt Santa sent me my own St. Nick for the Holidays". :O) He was a trooper as we tried to squeeze a 65 inch into the Hummer -- no go, only to then fit a 45 inch into the back. He was diligent and smiling the whole time. He had a great attitude for sure. In having such a wonderful store with a wide selection of items to choose from and such warm and wonderful people on hand -- we became members of and will always shop at the BJ's in Orange Park! Hey, my aunt bought a cake from here and brought it to a cookout that my mom had today at 1. The cake is called Strawberry Lemonade Cake. Here's what we thought: Taste: flavor was on point, reminiscent of the ice lemon pound cake at Starbucks. Very yummy Texture: the cake was very moist and sticks together well not too crumbly. Some of us are health conscious and we were able to cut verrrry thin slices and still get it to our plates in one piece. Now so far you probably think "this sounds like a 5 star cake, why the 3 star rating???" Here's where my family and I feel there is some room for growth: Aesthetics: the appearance is bizarre. A quote from my aunt "who decorated this cake, a three year old?" My sister commented that it looks like it is covered in crushed up dorritos. Dee said it looked like the decorater was trying to use the rest of the icing, truthfully the icing does feel a little forced. Again I don't want to distract from the real message a cake should send which is bringing people together. In talking about the ways this cake could be better my family became closer and at the end of the day that's always worth 5 stars. read more

We have been members at Price Club, Sam's Club, Costco, and BJ's Warehouse. We did not renew our membership at BJ's after the initial year because their prices and selection aren't that great, at least at the Jacksonville, Florida club. Today I'm adding another reason to NOT shop at BJ's. We purchased a small Haier freezer from BJ's 1 year and 8 months ago (still have the receipt). The manufacturer's warranty is 5 years but they make it difficult to reach the company and then they make you SHIP the FREEZER back to them. We have occasionally had problems with products purchased from the other warehouse clubs, and they have gladly honored the manufacturer's warranty, especially on big-ticket or large items. The freezer DIED last week and I called BJ's. I was informed that they would only warranty anything they sell for THIRTY DAYS, even with a receipt!! They're still selling the inferior freezer, and no other manufacturer's freezer, or larger freezers. BE VERY CAREFUL at BJ's!!!!! I wouldn't advise anyone to buy anything of any value there!!! read more

I called the Bakery at BJ's Orange Park location at 820 am on a Saturday before normal business hours with a desperate request. To my surprise they answered the phone! I needed 420 dinner rolls for a Boy Scout fundraiser (no I wasn't prepared) at 11 am! Yolanda in the bakery stepped up and baked all the rolls I needed and I was out the door at 10 am with my order!!! She was very helpful and in my opinion went above and beyond to fill my last minute order! Great job!!! read more

Love to shop here for several reasons, cleanliness, never crowded, and quality of items. The isles are wide and prices clearly marked, that makes it easy to see everything. it is never crowded, I hate other stores that are full of people craving the shelves and leaving their cart, this never happens here rarely is there more than 3-4 people on any given isle. the frozen food section is great if your entertaining they have a extensive selection of appetizers and unique foods. the cheese selection is one of the best around. I wish they had more selection in certain sections but hopefully with time that will come. read more

I belong to Costco and switched to BJs. More locations near me and the merchandise is more diverse and packed in smaller quantities than Costco, where it seems you are buying by the pallet. Costco is a little more upscale, but the selection is good here. This location has a better layout than the Philips Ave spot. Produce is layed out much better and what sparked me to write the review is that they have much better self checkout registers with a hand scanner so you don't have to take anything out of the cart. Wahoo. Staff at both locations is great. read more
