My in-laws live in Russiaville, one town over from Kokomo, and this is the Sam's they always go to. My husband and I frequently stop here for gas, but this time we actually went in to the store, since there were some frozen items he wanted to buy (namely, the Tyson country fried steak) that our local Novi, MI Sam's Club does not have (and neither does Madison Heights, MI, oddly, the second-closest one). This layout was a bit different than my local one but the store itself was overall nice. My in-laws had served us some Rally's brand fries that they purchased here, and we were looking for those too, since they were very tasty, but unfortunately couldn't find them in stock. We purchased some Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Reese's Puffs for good prices ($7.98 and $7.49, respectively, for basically two huge boxes), and their clothing section looked nice, too, although I didn't have time to browse. Stopped by the Sam's Club in Kokomo, and this was actually my first time ever visiting a Sam's Club. I ended up really liking the whole setup, from how the store is laid out to how smooth the entire shopping experience felt. I used the Scan & Go option and scanned everything as I shopped, which made checkout almost effortless. By the time I reached the exit, the staff did a quick review, and I was out the door in seconds. The selection here is nice with bulk savings, fresh options, and plenty of variety in every section. The store stayed organized and easy to navigate, which isn't always the case with warehouse-style places. Parking was plentiful and straightforward, making the trip in and out easy. The restrooms were available and clean, which is always a plus. There were staff members around whenever I needed help, and the overall vibe was friendly without feeling pushy. I like the Sam's in Kokomo but would honestly rather drive the 45 minutes to Costco. 1: at Costco I am not accosted by some idiot from AT&T as I walk in the door. These clowns need to calm down and back the hell off! Sam's Club should understand that I am paying to be there and should not be harassed by a third party sales person every time I walk through the bloody door. 2: meat area is A LOT better organized at Costco. Since the remodel at this Sam's began months ago there are still a lot of empty bins and I never know from one visit to the next where things will be. Kind of like Walmart... 3: no pharmacy. I know they are working on it but what's the hold up? 4: just overall disorganization. 5: Safety. I should have led off with this. The forklifts should be utilized when customers are not present. My wife and I have experienced several near-misses despite the lackadaisical "spotters" supposedly watching out. This is an 8500 pound piece of potential death rolling down an aisle around people who have likely had no exposure to such danger. Do you really want THAT lawsuit? At the end of the day, this Sam's is not up to par and management really should be scrutinized for the multiple oversights. read more

This location has gasoline available, which is a plus, as the company seems to be able to cut costs a few pennies for members. I didn't stop for that since I'd already gone to Speedway for diesel fuel. I'm never sure if Sam's Club has it or not, and the Sam's Club app isn't specific. Even though Sam's Club is owned by the Walmart people, it never really feels like it. The merchandise is generally of better quality and mostly, the employees do a better job. Everyone was friendly when I was there. I looked around the electronics a bit and also got some pizza. The pizza wasn't the greatest but it was after 7:30 p.m., so I'm guessing it had been sitting a while. Still, I've been to locations where they've pulled it from the oven and it looks like someone had thrown ingredients from across the room. I was glad to see the person in the Snack Bar cleaning. It makes me feel a bit safer knowing that cleaning is done. I wasn't sure about his wearing gloves to take cash and then, get the slice of pizza for me, but it's no worse than McDonald's or Wendy's. Bulk shopping can be good. I can't always afford to save, and of course, Sam's Club helps by not accepting Visa. read more

I give a zero rating on how unprofessional they are when they schedule an interview for a job. My son was invited last week to schedule an interview for a position. He scheduled it for this morning March 18, 2024 at 10am. I was going to take him so he called the store to let them know he might be a min or 2 but he would be there. Well come to find out according to HR, they already hired someone else. They couldn't even reach out to him in some way, either by a call or email and tell his the position was filled? Not a lot to compare Sams Club to. I have had my membership for several years and shop there about every two weeks. I like having the opportunity to start shopping early but that has been taken away since the Demo-virus began. They are real good about rotating seasonal items one the main floor. I just bought two camping chairs and really pleased with the quality and sturdiness of the chairs. I really like their MasterCard. I use it all the time and look forward to the two ways for cash back. It comes in handy when paying for the next year's dues. read more

Always clean, well lit, organized, and the staff is pretty great. I've only had one bad instance with a cashier. We rang up a box of popcorn on sale, and it didn't ring up correctly even though it was clearly labeled on sale. She didn't believe me, went to the wrong place in the store and said she couldn't find the sale tag, so she said she couldn't price change it. Only until I said I would grab a manager and go find the sale tag did she change the price. She's the only person I have had a small issue with, though. Love getting cheap gas and cheap food court eats here as well. read more

I've always liked Sam's club until I was turned away for shopping before 10am with a basic membership. I was unaware of this policy and self checkout was going to give me one checkout before 10 after explaining this on the screen and offering the upgrade. I declined the upgrade and started scanning items when an employee approached me and told me I needed to upgrade. I said no, I was allowed one checkout before 10 since I was not aware and I now know not to come before 10. She told me no, I would have to check out or leave. I left with the intention of coming back but decided not to because I was so irritated with how she handled the situation. I called customer support who informed me if I had checked out before 10 once before I would have to upgrade, which in fact I had not. She was no help and didnt even apologize. I then went to the website and chatted with customer support and was apologized to and given a $5 gift card. I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but $5 hardly buys a thing these days! I'm considering letting my membership expire because I am not satisfied with how this was handled. I had a whole cart load left behind and an hour of my time wasted. read more

Have written review before on Sam's club at a different location. I am currently at the Kokomo Sam's. Purchased hot dog and coke they did have the onion available . The reason for this review is to compliment the tire service. We needed a tire right away the sales person Larry explained all the different possibilities and was most helpful would give the tire service 5 stars. Very rude associates. Just went to ask the greeter a question and she practically yelled, "WE'RE CLOSED!" to me. Didn't even give me a chance to speak. Went to say something again and she yelled that they were closed and to come back at 7am the next day to me. All I wanted to do was ask one damn question and instead I get yelled at.
