Swung by with my dad to get him a Covid booster yesterday. The place was being overrun by barbarians at the gate. Hordes of entitled residents swarmed about like buzzing bees, lashing out at anybody who dared cross their path. They didn't have the booster shot available for at least four weeks, which wasn't their fault but I was kind of put off by the sheer scorn dripping from the pharmacy techs voice as she told me good luck with that after I suggested we try CVS. read more

I had a "negative" experience here that could have ended so poorly, but the customer service I received to help fix the problem was outstanding. I am a long-time member that uses scan-n-go for every transaction. Today, I was unable to checkout with frozen orange chicken, something I buy once a week with scan-n-go. As soon as I had trouble with the app, I was able to locate a blue-vested worker. Her name was Amanda, and she was wonderful. She explained that there was an issue with inventory, which is why I was unable to purchase the orange chicken in the app, and that she would fix the problem. While she figured it out, I was able to pickup my pizza at the cafe, and Amanda came up to me in the cafe to finalize the checkout of my cart. She went above and beyond to make sure I was able to get the items I needed without extra effort on my part. That's outstanding. Any business will have technology issues, but Amanda was easily accessible and quickly solved my problem. I'm thankful for Sam's here in Santa Fe. Thank you Amanda! read more

Santa Fe, NM Sams Club I am a person with a suppressed immune system and put an order online for pick up for a birthday gift for a family member I am visiting for today. As you know, drive up, open you hatch, they put the order in and you drive off. When I returned to my family's home (I am a visitor to this store). The box (insta pot) was beat up. Every corner was beat up, no handle and even the protective styrofoam was cracked. I can not believe this worker thought it was ok to bring this out for a pick up order. I called the store, no answer. I called the main customer service talk to a rep and then a supervisor. The supervisor was a kind man RJ. He put us on a 3 way call with a manger named Karen. During the conversation I think Karen forgot that the supervisor was still there. Karen rudely kept interrupting me and just plain rude. Karen offered me a $10 gift card and told me I HAD to come into the store for a return on an item I got at pick up area. AND HUNG UP THE PHONE ON ME. It is encouraged that people with suppressed immune systems shop on line and do pickups. Santa Fe I know is back to Covid restrictions. So WHY WOULD KAREN THE MANAGER MAKE A CUSTOMER WITH A SUPPRESSED IMMUNE SYSTEM STAND IN LINE WITH 40 people to return an item that was damaged from minute one. All I wanted to do was go back to drive up. Have them swap the damaged product for a new one. Simple solution for a customer with my health issues. KAREN I AM SORRY YOU WERE HAVE A BAD DAY. They can't keep enough employees because if an employee wants to stay home sick they get penalized. So you wait in line forever right in front of the exit and then they still make you wait in another line that goes super slow just to get out the door after you've paid. Selection is poor and the gas station is another disaster. Let's just say I am not proud of the person I became at the exit. One person to check receipts after I just waited in line for 15 minutes for 7 items. There was a problem with the receipt in front of me so I tried to go around, waving my receipt. The chica literally cart blocked me. I told her she could not trap me in there. The older gentleman having an issue with his receipt told me to be patient. I replied "believe me, I have been patient" It is quite affirming to read the other reviews here. It truly makes me wonder how people can live here. I went here to buy one item and ended up with three. I rang myself up (as Sam's club refused to hire more people and wants to make it as difficult as they can for customers) there is ALWAYS a long line to have your receipt scanned. Always. There was only one person checking receipts and the line was backed up all the way to their pharmacy. One of the three items I purchased was a rotisserie chicken that came out fresh. It was burning my wrist as I held it. I took my receipt in hand and walked around the line as I paid and have the proof. I was then stopped by a security guard having a power trip. Apparently, it's "company policy" to have your receipt scanned. Cool, so I pay for my items AND a membership, and then am treated like a thief for the items I rightfully paid for when I have the proof in hand. He told me that he would not let me pass him. I told him off and went around to Guest Services for a refund, where he FOLLOWED ME to make sure I wouldn't walk out the front. Pathetic. I had 3 items WITH a receipt. Aren't there more important things to worry about, like, I dunno, people actually stealing? I refunded my purchase and talked to a manager, who clearly didn't care because it's "company policy". I showed her the burn marks on my wrist and told her I would not wait 10+ minutes in a line when I purchased my items. She didn't care. My membership was actually due for renewal the next day and my husband and I were talking about renewing it. Hah. Never again. I told the manager as well and she just said "that's fine". I'll take my business to Costco, where they actually have the right amount of staff instead of stretching their employees thin out because they are greedy. While Costco does have a similar policy, they are well staffed and the line to have your receipt checked is never 20+ people long. Plus, their bathrooms aren't disgusting lol. I am updating my review of January 18, 2023. I am changing my one-star review to a 3-star review. Let me explain My previous review was sent to the Sam's Club complaint department, the Better Business Bureau, the New Mexico Attorney General's Office, and the Federal Trade Commission. At the bottom of each complaint, I put the initials of the other groups and agencies that received the same complaint. After sending my complaint to Sam's Club Complaint department with the various other agencies listed at the bottom, it got the attention that I was looking for. Now keep in mind, I tried to use management at the store to solve this issue, but they refused. With my complaint sent to corporate, the person was very helpful. She sent a copy to her superiors and to the store manager. The store manager was to contact me within 2 business days. Since he did not do this, I contacted the complaint department again and they got on it. I received a call from the store manager the following day. He was pissed and argumentative. After some time of this, I took the conversation away from the argument and to the solution that I wanted. I got him to agree with my demands of allowing me to return the defective tire and had the rest of my tires prorated and had the credit applied to the purchase of the new set of tires. The people working in the tire department had changed their tune and were nice and accommodating. Yet, they reiterated at the end that defective tires were the customer's problem and that returning them in the case of being defective was not an option. The manager did not like eating crow, but he did not have a choice. My choice to send a written complaint to corporate and the other organizations did the job . read more

This is the only bulk item warehouse within an hour's drive for me, so this is where I do a lot of shopping. Masks are required and lines to enter and check out can be long, but that makes for easier social distancing. The selection inside is decent and I don't have any complaints, but I haven't yet utilized the order online and pick up service. To Whom It May Concern: I write this to inform other Sam's Club members of the inconceivable treatment, which I received from the tire department in the Santa Fe, New Mexico, store in hopes that this will make other members aware of the despicable customer service I received from their tire department and one of the store managers. If it can happen to me, it can happen to any member. In addition, as a so-called valued Sam's Club member, I was not only unvalued; but also cheated. If it can happen to me, it can happen to anyone. Beware. By their actions, they are no doubt a company that puts profits over people and money over customer service. Here is my experience. I have been a member of Sam's Club since its earliest moments in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Over the years, we have shopped there frequently, purchasing a wide variety of items, which we needed. This included tires, batteries wiper blades, etc. For most of this time, the tire department personnel were excellent. Not only were their products priced fair; but also the tire department personnel were customer friendly and customer-oriented. It was obvious that those associates were well-trained l in customer service and were concerned about Sam's Club's image. This even occurred well after the transaction was completed. When issues arose, I could count on Sam's Club to do the honorable thing and help me as needed. By my own recent experience, this is no longer the case. As the saying goes, "All good things must come to an end. "Just prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, the attitude of tire department staff changed to where customer service was no longer a priority. This attitude continues to this day. It is a sad state of affairs. Whoever was in charge of changing this attitude has done a great disservice to Sam Club members and the corporation as a whole. The attitude of the tire department went from being customer friendly to customer unfriendly. In the store's phone-answering message, a woman's voice is heard saying, "We love having you as a part of the Sam's Club Family." This is a joke. The reality of this message is, "We love having you come here and spend your money, and look forward to your departure. Here is what happened to me. After purchasing a set of tires for my 2006 Toyota Sienna, I had problems with road vibration. This was a new issue, which occurred after the purchase of new tires at the Santa Fe Sam's Club store. I decided that there was a problem, which may be linked to the new tires. I took the van back to the Sam's Club tire department for tire rebalancing in hopes of solving the problem. After the rebalancing of the tires, the issue continued. I even went to a mechanic for an alignment check. Still, the problem continued. This went on for months. I took it back several times to the Sam's Club tire department for rebalancing as well as had the alignment checked several times as well. It seemed to me that this was an issue that should have been easily and quickly remedied, but was not. Each time I brought the van in for tire rotation and rebalancing, I informed them each time of the road vibration. Once when I mentioned the road vibration issue to them the tire department after I had already taken it back there with the same issue a few different times, a technician stated that I should bring the van back for an additional tire rebalancing. Each time, the problem was not solved and the issue continued. Since we live busy lives and because the van was not one of our primary modes of transportation, we were only reminded of the problem when one of us used the van. After finally being ready to address the road vibration issue on our van, I took the van to my regular mechanic to check for any potential mechanical issues. When the van was returned to me, I was informed that the van was in good order and that one of the tires was out of round. I then took the van back to Sam's Club and informed the tire department of the results of my mechanic's inspection. The department manager stated that he would replace the tire with the same brand and type. The tire was ordered, but after several months of waiting, it was never delivered to the store. At that point, I decided to order a different tire and purchased an additional tire as well. I did this because tires are to be replaced in sets of 2 or 4. Next, I took the van in for an alignment and another inspection with a different mechanic. He put the car on the rack, pulled off the tires, and found that all four tires were out of round to a different degree. The out-of-roundness of the two older tires was obvious and the out-of-roundness of the two new tires was noticeable. No tire, in its life span should act this way, especially the new two new tires. Not only that; but the weights on the tires were not placed correctly. The weights were placed next to each other, which is never to be done. Parked my RV very far back in the parking lot. Hadn't even made it into the store yet and security came banging on the side of my RV. As soon as I opened the door, "You can't stay here overnight! No overnight parking! You have to leave immediately!!" There was no "Hi. Are you shopping or were you planning to stay overnight?" or any friendliness or any conversation, just yelling. Had arrived, taken the dogs out after a long drive, rested a moment (my mother is 86), was making a shopping list, and BANG! BANG! BANG! So unnecessary. Needless to say, we left and shopped elsewhere. The security guy even said to be sure to take care of that poo bag just under the RV--as if I picked it up and bagged it just to leave it in the parking lot. Like I said, we hadn't had time to finish our shopping list, much less unlock the basement (on the way in to shop) to store the poo bag. I understand if an establishment doesn't allow overnight parking. I have no tolerance for low-class rudeness and erroneous assumptions. We already had other overnight plans about a mile away. Went shopping at Sam's Club. I don't shop here very often, but when I do I try to stock up. I have a few items, like coffee, that I always try to get so I won't have to come back too often. There are a few drawbacks to Sam's Club. 1. Not a big fan of the Direct TV people trying to get me to switch my service 2. Some items get removed that I purchase and are no longer carried at Sam's 3. The food court area is always packed and dirty 4. Restrooms are not in the best shape 5. Fundraisers outside the entrance/exit 6. Lack of open registers The good points 1. Huge parking lot 2. Overall this is a good Sams, but I need to call out the food court. Some of the food court staff are racist. For the lady in front of me the clerk goes out of her way to shuffle the older pizza slice on top to the side for the lady of the same race. This race gets fresh pizza. My grandfather needed a new refrigerator. Sam's had one on sale and they ran out. I downloaded the app to help my grandfather and once the item was available I placed the order for pick up. I used my credit card and set up a pick up time and date that provided. I went at the scheduled time and date and was told my item was sold the day prior. I checked my order and was told a refund would be issued. I asked what the point of an on line order was. I was informed that another guest wanted the item. So my lesson is Sams online orders are a waist of time. The manager stated she would call me again when the item was back in stock.... guess what never got a call. The employees at this Sam's Club are beyond frustrating. I went in today (using my business account) to buy some Horizon 2% Organic Milk. The shelf was empty so I asked a stocker if he could check the refrigerator. He brought out some other organic milk (Members Mark brand) and told me that Horizon has been discontinued. I bought a few other things and checked out then went to the customer service desk to ask about the Horizon. The woman check the computer and it showed 29 in the store. So I walked back and looked through the storage refrigerator from the floor and I could see the Horizon milk on a crate. I went back and asked for a manager. I explained to the manager that the man told me it was discontinued and the situation with the computer. She told me that the computer was wrong and that they had run out. She didn't offer to go back and check. Then I told her I saw some on the pallet. She STILL told me that they were out. WHAT?!?!?!? She was worthless, not listening and not helpful. She didn't go to check the cooler or offer to have someone help. Another employee explained that they were too high up to reach but I told him that they were on the ground. Been shopping here since it opened in 1993. Prices are good. They don't carry fireworks for 4th of July due to being in a draught. Kudos! They also don't carry water sports products, probably because the lack of water in the surrounding area. Shelves are usually stocked. Cafe prices are great. Gas prices are the lowest in town. Great customer service, especially in Tires (thanks Karen!). One thing I've noticed about this particular store is that it has huge turnover. read more

The WORST store ever. Long long long lines (always - no matter the time of day or day of the week - at least 8 carts in every line), no managers available for any sort of issue (even to their own checkers), and extremely slow (often rude when you complain) employees, and not to mention dirty. Piles of stock sitting on the floor with nobody to put them away, while shelves and displays are full of empty boxes. Refrigerated fresh chicken displays are warm (not cool enough) and nasty liquids are smeared all over the packages. Horrible. Customer service is clearly the very last priority for this store.
