Just Wow!!! over the top/ overwhelming experience! I went in today to DISCOUNT TIRES (by the mall) to fill up a tire that was flat, the guy there informed me that my tire was not in good condition and couldn't even be filled up. He mentions that I could go inside to get it patched and manager could wave the installation fee. Went inside a great guy (Steven) was extremely professional and kind he mentions that there was no used tires for my vehicle as per my request. He explained to me that my tires were extremely dangerous to be driving around. I was only able to afford ONE new tire, he went to check inventory (my thought) when he got back, he said "We would get all 4 tires installed today and you can come and pay when you can for safety reason" I couldn't believe what he said. Thanks to him (Steven) and of course manager (Preston) my children and I can now drive safe around town. I look forward to continuing going there for all my tires needs. Very disorganized!! There is no point in having an appointment if it is not even honored before walk-ins and other appointments. I had an appointment at 8:30am. I arrive by 8:15am. Another man, Mr Martinez, also had an appointment at 8:30am. He arrived late, at 9am. I witnessed this all and heard him check in stating his appointment was at 8:30am but he was going to leave his car & pick it up at the end of the day. Yet they bought his car into the garage for service before mine even though I checked in over half an hour before him. YOU SHOULD HAVE ONE STAFF CHECKING IN APPOINTMENTS BY ASKING WHO IN LINE HAS AN APPOINTMENT. THAT ONE STAFF PERSON SHOULD BE FOCUSING ON APPOINTMENTS before checking in any walk-ins. It is that easy to get organized in this chaotic store. My appointment should have been first before the appointment of the guys that came in afterwards. I'm a huge fan of all Discount Tires as wherever I've used them - Illinois, New Mexico, California - they're professional, fast, and reasonably priced. Special accolades to the Discount Tire at 4316 Cerrillos Rd in Santa Fe, NM. We were driving across the country and cracked a rim so couldn't go on without a fix. Despite being hugely busy and backed up, they found a replacement rim and installed it quickly so we could get back on the road - spouse plus three dogs trying to get back to San Diego for a family medical emergency. Had a flat, and my spare was flat, too. Got the car into Discount Tires, where I have long been a customer. They checked the tire; couldn't find a leak, changed the valve stem in case that was leaking, reinflated the spare. Sent me off. Later in the day I noticed the "low tire pressure" light was on again (or had never gone off and I hadn't noticed). It was 5:40 p.m. and I knew they close at 6. Called the shop. Manager Alex said, "Come on over, ask for me." At the shop, after hours, they re-tested the tire under Alex's supervision, still couldn't find a leak, inflated all tires to match and re-set the low tire pressure warning light. Coda: All is well, tire that had been flat is holding. Most impressive was that Alex was willing to solve the problem despite the late hour. Also, my service associate, Jaden, a very young man, was completely professional and helpful. Discount Tire always solves my problem, and that's what I want! And since the tires came from Discount Tire, the service was free. Awesome. P.S. If I could give these guys a 10 I'd do it. I had a slow leak in a tire on a rental car. The rental agency was telling me I'd be charged for the tire if I brought it back with a slow leak. I called Discount, spoke to Alex, and he said if I drove it down and it was fixable they'd do it for free. It was a nail in the tire and they fixed it while I waited and didn't charge me. We have been traveling around CO & just into NM. We had to have a tire replaced with our spare in Durango. They could not find a replacement tire there. We arrived in Santa Fe & went to 3 different tire places searching for a replacement tire for our spare. We were nervous driving the 900 miles home with no spare. The first place we stopped was so busy we couldn't even get to the desk to talk to them. The man at the desk of the Firestone store was so rude! He never looked up or spoke to us until I spoke to him- then he said " hold on, I'll be with you in a minute". He finally checked & said he didn't have the tire we needed. Then we went to discount tire & were greeted by a very nice gentleman who checked, found the tire we needed & said they would mount it & be thru in 30 minutes. A young man came out to us about 5 minutes later & said bring the truck into the bay. We did & about 20 minutes later we were back on the road, with a new spare & feeling good about finishing our trip. These guys were great! Polite, nice, & professional! I have routinely used this Discount Tires to swap summer and winter tires seasonally for my and my wife's Subaru. They have stripped or broken the tire lug bolts three times. The first two times I had to take the car to Brake Masters to replace the bolt. No cost except my time. The third time I discovered the problem when my wife's car had a flat tire. FOUR of the five bolt threads were stripped with the nut apparently in place. That means the tire was held on by ONE bolt. Further, some of the nuts on the stripped bolts could not be removed - the thread was gone, and they rotated freely. The car had to be driven on the flat tire to Brake Masters to have the wheel removed and replacement bolts, then driven on the donut spare to Discount Tire where they replaced the now-ruined tire. THIS IS DANGEROUS! I discovered the problem in my driveway. What if my wife had the flat at night in the middle of nowhere? What if the one remaining bolt had failed. They must have known that they stripped the bolts - they rotated freely. They returned the car with ONE intact bolt. Avoid this place. Even if they discover torque wrenches, they clearly have no interest in their customers' safety! read more

So far the complaint with them resulted in a "we will take care of it " and a claim adjuster phone number that is inoperable. No contact since claim on Friday Update: Adjuster contacted me Tuesday requesting detailed damage information, repair bills and body damage estimate. Will provide estimate today after the appointment. New axle Brakes now work fine after another repair/adjustment at Brakes plus. Update 31July. Received a call from customer care department last week, was friendly, promised to take care of issue. Submitted all requested damage receipts and repair estimate to claim adjuster on Thursday 23 July. Got email that I'll hear back from them. Now since over a week I haven't heard back. read more

The salesman just gave me a total price without asking me if I wanted this optional feature. Presumably, it covers full cost of repairing a blowout. They were quick and honest about the damaged tires and ordered the replacement for me. The replacement tire took a few days to come in and during that time they gave me a temporary to use that wasn't a donut, it was a real tire. We were in route from Arizona to Santa Fe as we were getting into Albuquerque my tire monitor set off an alarm one of my tires were getting low we were able to make it Santa Fe and take the tire off I got to Discount Tire 15 minutes before they were open I was the 6th one there in the next 15 minutes 7 more people got there. Were they opened the manager came out and said we will take everyone in order as we got there they have a camera and he did exactly as he said. Miguel my sales person was awesome. Absolutely horrible company and customer service. For one flat tire they insisted I needed to replace all 4. Spent over 600$ with them. They had to manually break a spare tire off due to a cross threaded stud and would not provide a statement or any proof of having done this so I could get a refund from AAA. This seems not only illegal, as though they're sole interest is covering their own ass, but also Incredibly sketchy, and incredibly unreliable. Especially for having spent a whole paycheck at their store. It does not help that my "new tires" are not even half the quality of my old ones, which apparently they offer a partial discount for if the tires they replace are relatively new. I was a customer here for about 15 years without any problems, but it is no longer the same place. In part, it is their centralized call center, which means if you call locally, you will still be forwarded to a central office, who won't mention that you are not talking to the local store. When I called, I assumed I was talking to Santa Fe, and they ordered my tires and set up an appointment for me. When I arrived, it turns out the tires and the appointment had been made for a small town in Michigan, and the guy at the shop really did not care. I called back the next day, made a new appointment, and the day before that appointment I called again and insisted I be put through to the SF store to confirm everything was on track. It was confirmed. I arrived for my appointment and was told that the tires and the appointment were at another store in Santa Fe, although I had called this store and confirmed that it was this store that my appointment was at. Again, the guy at the store could not have cared less. Will not be returning. read more

What an incredible great experience!! I had a flat with my 5 year old Granddaughter in the car. We barely made it to this Discount location. I got there at 12:20pm. They were busy!!! I had a very large nail in my tire. They said the car would be ready by 4:30pm. Now what was I going to do with a 5 year old at a Discount Tire Center for 4 hours? No Ubers or Lyfts available. Then Jason appeared. He apparently is the manager in one of the "red shirts". He asked me what was going on and I explained to him I would have to be there about 4 hours since I could not get a ride home. He said he would check on the car and see if he could move it up. He want around the whole waiting room talking to people and asking them what was their particular issue. He was back and forth to the guys out in the stalls. He kept EVERYONE in the waiting room informed of what was happening to their auto. Also, the other service writers picked up to his culture and also were informing us of where our auto was. You felt like you had a family member there checking out for you. Jason has established an incredible culture at this Discount Tire Center. I have been a CEO of hospitals in large health care systems and also Texas Children's Hospital for 42 years. Jason was the kind of executive I wanted out on the floors checking on the patients and their families. I was so impressed. I was out of there in two hours and was very impressed. Arrived, informed employee I wanted all 4 wheels balanced and rotated per my warranty. He asked if I had any vibrations. I answered no. I watched the workers rotate my tires and start to reinstall. I stopped them and asked why they were not balancing. They informed that it was written up for a rotate only. When confronted, write up guy said he asked if I had vibrations. The point is these people don't listen to the customer. I paid for lifetime balance/rotate, by God I want a BALANCE and rotate each time! BTW, three of my rims needed the weights adjusted. Time before last, I requested the fronts cross to rear and rears brought forward. They were going to just switch front to rear. Until I caught them. WARNING: you have to watch these guys. I love American Discount Tire- we bought our tires at their San Jose store and they honor the lifetime warranty of free repair if you get a nail, or free rotation when you're ready. I also like that they are knowledgeable about what they're selling so can advise the best solution based on your priorities (longer lasting, better on ice, etc) . We were looking to rotate the tires on my husband's car but after further investigation decided instead to replace them- American tire had them in stock and got them on the car within a half hour. Made an on line appointment for 7/2. Got a call from Discount Tire saying they got my online appointment, but I could come in on 6/29 I would be eligible for the $100 rebate. If I hadn't got their call and went in on 7/2 I would have missed the rebate. I arrived on time for my appointment was greeted and taken care of immediately, 40 minuets later my Honda CRV was ready to go.
