I renewed membership after being away for nearly 5 years. It feels like a lot has changed. For instance, everything you do is now based on your online card and the app. No more physical cards. The store I visited seemed to be well stocked. The clothes were all neatly folded, which, if you've ever worked in retail, you know is no small accomplishment. There were several things I looked for that were available when I last looked for them 5 years ago, that were no longer in stock. That was slightly disappointing but I will continue to look for acceptable replacements. The produce section was meh, imo. Nothing in the bakery jumped out at me either. I saw just a few clearance items that I picked up. I didnt see a single sample cart on the floor, except for the Freeosk. They may only have samples on the weekend, I'll have to find out. The workers I encountered seemed friendly, and the store was clean. Maybe ill feel more impressed in future visits. read more

Nice, clean, spacious Sam's Club location. Plenty of selection, not very crowded. The cafe is a great place to get a very cheap (mediocre but filling) hot dog and a soda while you walk around. Sam's has pretty good deals and their gas is cheap too. The staff seemed disorganized. Our cashier was an older man who kept getting confused and messing up. On December 20, 2025, I purchase 3 Gift of Membership cards as Christmas gifts for my daughters at the Crestwood store on Big Bend. There was only 1 register open and since I had gift cards, I thought it would be easier. I asked for gift receipts. They were really busy, so I told the girl I would match up the receipts to the cards. Big mistake! When I got home (70 miles away), the 3 gift of membership receipts were the same number. On December 22, 2025, I went back to the store and was told that it did not and would not show $50 on each card because they were gift of membership cards. Huh? The woman at Customer Service assured me that they would be fine and to be sure and keep the receipt showing I paid for them. First daughter tried her card and it said it wasn't valid. She gave them the gift receipt and she got her membership. Second daughter shops at the Chesterfield store and they told her there was nothing on her card. Even with the gift receipt AND me sending a screen shot of the receipt showing I had paid for it, they told her she would have to go to the store where it was purchased and they would have to do a CFT. She was told the store's system did not communicate with each other I called the Crestwood store and was told to bring the receipt in. I'm 70 MILES AWAY! I have one more daughter that has a gift of membership. Please tell me what do I have to do to get this mess straightened out. And also, where is the money I paid on December 20th? We were checking out and for no reason when when were taking to her, a worker named PATTY had screamed at us and was very rude and immature.

This is a fairly good location. They usually have their shelves stacked well. I just needed to run in and out real quick to get some cat food for my fur babies. I did have to dodge a couple sales people like the cell phone people that always try to grab you and another sales person. I was able to get in and out fairly quick with two little short stops at food samples. You can't dodge those! I will have to say the restrooms at this location are usually pretty dirty. I did notice that they did a little change by the food court. They added more tables and put them in along rows, which is a good idea because sometimes it gets pretty busy there and now there's more places to sit. read more

One of the workers was in the bathroom slamming the doors and cursing about customers leaving a mess. I sympathize with them because I know that customers do leave messes and that it's completely unacceptable. However, I was uncomfortable by how angry they got and the slamming of the stall doors while I was in there alone with them, and had just entered the bathroom at the same time as they did. read more

I have never thought highly of Sam's Club. They don't answer the phone, there is always a lot of rigamarole one has to go through, they are known for having environmentally degrading practices, and they are known for having poor quality gasoline. Today I reached the end of the line with Sam's Club. I had bought a bag of organic carrots which was slimy the day I opened it (in date). I don't make it often to Sam's, and it put it in the fridge so it did not rot, and then my husband fell off the roof. So I did not make it back to Sam's for some time. When I went and explained the carrots were slimy from day one, they refused to give me another bag of carrots. Since Trader Joe's is so wonderful in standing behind their products, I told Sam's that I would never be treated in this way by TJ, so I would just buy my stuff at TJ, and f*** Sam's. I meant it. I am finished with this place. They are a pain to deal with and they don't stand behind their products. Go to Trader Joe's instead--they treat customers wonderfully. read more

We were out of town and my contacts cracked in half. We did not have a replacement. We stopped by Sams Club thinking that we may be able to get a sample set (we did have a current prescription) We were greeted by Amy, the optical manager on duty on May 5th. She was very stern and informed us that the "policy" of Sams Club is that samples cannot be given out without seeing a doctor. We then asked to speak to a doctor and were told that without an appointment we could not. After this complete rejection, we went to Costco Optical and received a night and day difference in treatment. In 5 min we walked out of Costco with samples in hand after an ophthalmologist took time to match them to the prescription. What a difference between the two stores. read more

This one located behind the Culver's on Big Bend has the nicest gas station area in the upper lot. We are in the middle of a Pendemic, A. Either require or at least strongly recommend that customers use face masks. [1/2 or more today were not.] Tell them to stay six feet away from other shoppers. Especially when they are practically shouting at their friends and don't have masks on. Please fix the scan & go software so it works so we don't have to dealing with the same scanning devices as everybody else. Please provide hand washing stations both coming and going. At the moment 52,000 people have died of this pandemic in US and 200,000 or more globally. This is not too much to ask. read more

This Sam's Club is, in my opinion, one of the best in the area. Employees take pride in their store and try to maintain a clean, organized, well stocked store for their customers. Perhaps my favorite part of Sam's is the cafe. You really can't go wrong with the pizza or hotdog combos. Each costs less than $4 and is a filling meal. I can feed my whole family for less than $15. The Nathan's all beef hotdogs are my favorite part while my kids love Sam's club pizza. This store is a must for stocking up on non perishables, electronics, over the counter meds, or frozen foods. Their selection of produce and meat is top notch. And their bakery makes tasty, affordable decorated cakes, cupcakes, cookies, pastries and more. read more

Not my favorite Sam's Club in town but I'll stop here from time to time. On 1/9/18 the gas was $2.02 per gallon for regular. It was $2.29 at the QuickTrip down the street so that's a win. Found the few items inside I needed for work and was on my way. This store has fewer upscale items than some of the West St. Louis County stores. read more

Beware if you order online for store delivery! Here's the problem...the order goes through the web but comes from the store. If there is a problem with an order than the only way to be refunded is at the store. If I wanted to go to the store I wouldn't have ordered delivery. This time they completely didn't include an item in my delivery but other times they have sent me items missing pieces. The customer service is not good. The last time I went to the store with an issue (they sent me half dead floral) I had to bring the half dead flowers into the store. On top of that the customer service rep seemed to not believe me. I use delivery services to save me time but situations like this cost me time. If they sell items on line then they should reconcile items with the store. Walmart doesn't have these issues with delivery so it doesn't make sense why Sam's can't integrate their online system with the stores. read more

So what? Sometimes I like to save money and buy things in bulk. DEAL WITH IT! I usually go in here needing one specific thing like those big thick pretzels that are loopy. If you were wondering, they don't have it. It took me 20 minutes to figure this out because it's a 5k to get from one side of the store to the other. Sometimes things can be hit or miss here so do your research if you need something oddly specific. This is a great place to buy lots of chicken at once, chips, bread, CLIFF BARZ (love me some cliff barz), medicine (who doesn't need 500 advil at once?), or anything else that is kind of a long-term necessity in your household. It's also great for party planners (i.e. me)! You know you can always go here to pick up a ton of snacks or alcohol and save a few bucks. It has it set backs...people trying to sell you Direct TV in the aisles (Everyone knows U-Verse is better...I went there!), try to sell you a flat iron, or try to sell you a broom. You would think with their damn membership fee they wouldn't let those people sell their product to you when you are trying to grocery shop. They do manage to counteract those people a bit with samples...free samples are always fun. Cake while I'm push a shopping cart? I'll have two please! I had a funny incident here recently while purchasing 4 handles of alcohols for an event and a bottle of wine for those lonely nights...the cashier was very speculative of my ID and pretty rude. I wanted to be like, "I bought a Sam's membership so I could buy alcohol underage. YEAH, THAT MAKES SENSE?" It's not a big deal but it's a little strange. A clusterf#ck if there ever was one! There's really no other word in the English language to best describe my experience buying a patio set here. Shopping for food may be fine, but when it comes to big-ticket items, no one knows what the heck they are doing. To start, we couldn't even get anyone to come out and help us with the purchase. They just wanted numbers to enter into the register. I finally had to ask one of the customer service reps to come out with me to collect the info they needed so I know I was getting the right items. Begrudgingly they helped. Call me crazy, but when I'm spending over a grand on something, I'd like a little help. Now get this!! When I expressed interest in purchasing the delivery and assembly service, the rep tried to talk me out of it saying it's too expensive and I should just rent a truck and assemble it myself. Nice company representative trying to talk people OUT of purchasing add ons. I went with the service, knowing that it would be worth every dollar for this large set, much to her dismay. The day of delivery, the third-party delivery guys (and that company was great, by the way) point out to me that Sam's had the used floor model waiting for them on the dock. I clearly paid full price for a new item. I called and spoke to the first helpful Sam's representative of my whole experience who told me that every store is out of the model and they would give me a $400 discount. I had to go back to the store yet again to get the refund, but kudos to them for doing the right thing in the end, which bumps them up a star here. OK, so we have all shopped at Sam's, same old same old warehouse store. But this evening I was surprised and delighted when I tried one of their pretzels. This yummy goodness is toasted to order, then butter is slathered on it and topped with your choice of salt or cinnamon and sugar. I was in the mood for salty- It was wonderful, it may even rival Gus'. So next time you are stocking up on toilet paper and jumbo boxes of hot pockets, splurge treat yourself to this $1 pretzel!! read more

After calling and receiving confirmation that they had a Nintendo switch in stock, I went through crazy traffic to get to the store. I attempted to acquire help from three different employees with no luck. So I just took the paper card to pay for the item. They searched for over twenty minutes for the item and could not find it. Neither of the two managers were available when pages on the walkie talkie. I continued to wait. The incompetency is this business is astounding. We knew we'd be losing quality when we went from Costco to Sam's but we didn't realize it would be this terrible. After almost thirty minutes they found it in the wrong place. The manager was still not available. I'm not sure how a company can survive with such gross unprofessionalism and ineffective customer service. read more

Love/Hate. I love the prices on fruits and veggies. With two teenage athletes in the house, we go through healthy food like wildfire. I've always depended on Sam's for high quality steaks at a reasonable price. Lately, however, I can't be 100 percent sure that we'll be happy. It seems like 8 out of 10 steak purchases are fine, but the other 2 end up chewy and flavorless---a bummer when a grilled steak is the centerpiece of the meal. Also, I appreciate the prices on milk and eggs---a mainstay of my Sam's shopping trips. As for the hate part, I just can't shop for the week at Sam's only. Without fresh herbs, I can't make many of my dishes. Word of caution---pay attention to freshness. The bags of lemons, limes, peppers, potatoes and onions often hold a dud inside---and you know how bad a dud potato can smell! read more

This Sam's Club is one of my favorites and I've been to quite a few in this state, as well as others I've traveled to. The store is usually pretty clean. The employees are friendly and usually ready to help wherever needed. One thing that is starting to be a pet peeve of mine is that every location does not have all the same stuff. While I get it, there are times when you don't want to have to drive to 2 Sam's Clubs when you are needing something in particular that all stores usually have. One of the perks is the cafe where you can get some kind of combo for under $3-$4. We usually get a soda and their soft pretzel - yum! read more

Been on hold for an hour to talk to someone about my tires which are under warranty and definitely under performing. Maybe they don't answer their phones because they install so many shoddy tires. Should definitely be able to get more than 30k miles on a set but I'll never be able to get them replaced if they don't answer their phones. I don't want to tote my kids in store just so I c an order another set and then tote them back again to get them installed.... nobody got time for that! read more

As with anything, you need to do your research - not everything is worth the prices, but a lot is, and if you have a lot of people, it might be too. The gas always saves me a bit. The produce is iffy sometimes - you have to eat it fast, but deals on berries are usually good! Bananas too. We buy frozen stuff, fruit, and all our paper goods here. A bonus is that they are always well staffed here. Even around the holidays, all the lanes were open and they have this cool scanned where they can scan the stuff in your basket in line, then when you get to the cashier, you just give your card and everything shows up without having to scan them again. It's pretty cool - if you see these, go to them. Time savers! We have saved a lot of money here on just some things, so we remain members. But, if a Costco opened closer, we probably would check them out. read more

I always seem to have a problem when I walk in this Sams. My reoccurring issue that I have on a weekly basis is that help can never be found. I buy 2 35 gallon jugs of oil each week for my business. I am a 5'0,100 pound girl and these oils are hard for me to lift into the cart and then into my car upon checkout. I have asked for help numerous times out to my car but after waiting 10 minutes for someone to show up I usually end up doing it myself, resulting in bruises and scratches on my legs because the oil is so awkward to carry. My second issue that I have had just happened today. I went in planning on buying a $800 computer and then their $100 warranty to go along with it. I'm in line preparing to pay and apparently they don't accept Visa Credit Cards. I have NEVER heard of anyone not accepting visa before. The manager(woman with brown hair In a bob and glasses) was very rude to me about the fact that they do not accept visa. She was also rude when she asked to see my sams card. She said the picture didn't look like me at all(I guess insinuating that I was using someone else's card). I am about fed up with this store. It might be worth it to drive the extra distance to Costco. Seriously thinking about canceling my membership because of this store. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because of the location. read more

This review is for the gas station only. I have been coming here for years for the cheap gas despite the traffic layout, which is awful. It causes people to get stressed and filled with rage at having to wait their turn. Today while filling my car, a man verbally attacked me, called me rude names, and told me he had a gun in his truck, all because he didn't like the way I pulled forward at the pump. Other customers were kind and told me I did nothing wrong. During the time I pumped my gas, the station attendant witnessed the yelling and threatening motions the man made toward me. I wished the attendant would have called for help, especially after the man declared he had a gun in his truck. During this verbal attack, my children sat in the car watching and listening. I witnessed this happen to someone else at this same station in mid-July, so this is not a one time event. Please stay safe and drive one block further, even if you have to pay five to ten cent more/gallon. read more
