Ok so being who I am and the appreciation for reviews. Especially when I pick local establishments only by reviews, I decided to come back to my previous review and update. My original review was a two star based off my first experience and waiter. We decided to come back and try again the place again. And glad we did!! The second time around the experience was like night and day. As you can see I even added an extra two stars this time. So it really shows that the servers are a restaurants life line. This time we came in sat at the bar since we didn't want to have a repeat of our last visit and the bartender was super good. Our drinks and food were lightening speed and she was super friendly. The atmosphere is alway busy at Sam's Bar and Grill. Either it's sports, beer or food that most look for. For me typically it is the craft beer. Which they have been lacking lately. No selection other than your normal domestics are usually available. The food on the other hand is fairly decent. The best items on the menu would have to be the chicken nachos, handcrafted pizza, and ribs. One item I would stay away from would have to be the chicken tenders, though crispy with a golden brown outer layer, the meat seems chewy and soft which has a very odd taste. The meat is lightly pink which indicates it is undercooked. If management is reading this, please make sure your staff is cooking it properly. I am sure other patrons have commented on it. The serving staff is always pleasant with a smile while serving customers in a professional manner. So bravo to the staff! Only minor menu item fixes and beer selection will improve ratings. read more

Pretty good food- I've only been here twice since I'm only in town when visiting my boyfriend family. My favorite thing at this sports bar is the Cesar salad dressing as odd as that might sound. If they sold it by the bottle I would buy it and take it back home with me. Their wings are pretty good too! My boyfriend got the pizza last time we were here and said he wouldn't get it again: he's originally from here and said he only recommended and buy the wings. We made it into town two days ago and ordered take out. I asked for a Cesar salad w/ grilled chicken, the grill was off but I was ok with that. When I picked up the food- my salad was in a side salad box even tho I asked for (& I'm sure) paid for the entree salad since I didn't eat for the entire four hour drive here. All of our wings were correct which was great, but I was disappointed with the salad not being the correct size. The dressing was amazing so I honestly wish they would have give me a full size to enjoy it more. read more

I came here a month ago to watch football. I am new to Tennessee & went by myself to Sam's. I met 2 gentlemen & we talked football, music & stuff. Ambiance was great. Had the Angus burger & it was excellent; I'm not much of a burger person. Tori W. was an excellent, friendly bartender who took care of her customers & made sure everyone was taken care of. My wife and I went for dinner on May 6 and ordered one of their pizzas. -BTW it was disappointing. They brag about their in-house making of the crust...keep working on it. It really wasn't very good, especially when I took a bite and had to spit it out due to a long hair baked into it. Totally gross. Great tap beer selection. Now I am all about service, which is why I try to get the servers name. Brie, is a beautiful young lady, you can tell even with the mask but more than that she is a top notch server. Busy as can be she still managed to stop and talk to each customer, maybe only 15 seconds but it worked. She made everyone feel like she was trying to connect and that is service industry gold. Two stars worth right there. Oh, and the happy hour beers were $3 (I only drink imported) and she let me know happy hour was ending and to put a few more on before. My wife and I visited Sam's tonight after a movie. We both ordered double Tito's. We were charged $19.00 per drink. $19 for a double Tito's. Let that set in a minute...$19...Tito's...Murfreesboro, TN...is this real life? C'mon now, we didn't order specialty drinks. Went here for lunch on a Sunday, definitely busy but service was perfect and no wait time. The food wasn't that great.Got chicken tenders which seemed a little under cooked for my taste and batter underneath was still doughy. I wanted to like this place. We ended up sitting outside, at our request, because of the noise level inside. The patio was heated but a huge draw back was the amount of smokers that were allowed to come out and smoke in the dining area. We actually ended up moving tables because of it. Thankfully, outside of the three un-bussed tables, the other tables were free so we could move. I can understand the draw to the place if you wanted to hang with friends and watch the game. They have a large food and drink menu and it looked like great happy hour menus. I had the club sandwich which was average at best and sweet potato fries. My husband had fish tacos and fries. He claims that you can get better fish tacos at O' Charley's down the road. His fries were great though but it is sad when that is the only exciting thing about the meal. We decided to give this restaurant a try. The waitress was friendly and gave her honest opinion on what were the best things on the menu (which I prefer over the usual "everything is good"). We started out with the Cajun Queso dip which we all loved. I ordered the cheese burger which was very good. My wife ordered the bacon burger that was glazed with teriyaki style sauce. Quick stop for a solo lunch... I wanted something fairly healthy, so I opted for the Greek Salad with the lemon vinaigrette dressing on the side. Firstly, this salad is quite large! *It's priced at $11.99, so I feel like it's fairly priced. A few takeaways from my experience: It has way too many red onions that are spread throughout the salad so that you can't easily pick off if you wanted to. Secondly, there are sliced peppercinis all through the salad as well, which is unusual in a GREEK salad. This makes for a fairly "hot" salad. I'm looking for olives, cucumbers and feta mostly when I order a Greek.... it didn't have nearly enough of those. It also had both red and green bell peppers along with artichokes which was different, but not a deal breaker. I found the red onion to be over powering and it was nearly all that I tasted after a few bites. I moved both the red onion and peppercini slices to the side to finish my salad... see pic. Otherwise, the salad is a healthy option. I'd suggest serving less red onion (smaller portion) and peppercinis on request. read more

For a sports bar we give it a 5 stars. Great beer selection. And the pescatarian had the barramundi fish sandwich which was very very good and impressive for a sports bar it was grilled not fried. The carnivore had ribs with coleslaw and said they were fantastic that is why I would give it a five stars the service was very good as well.
