Fried shrimp and oysters with fries and coleslaw

Food is always great, and the server was attentive. It was a slow part of the day, so it was quiet.

We had the family deal- 20 fish, french fries, a large side of green beans and dirty rice- and it was absolutely delicious!Lightly battered fish, well seasoned, crunch with every bite on the outside and moist on the inside. Generous portion size and soft drinks and tea included! Excellent customer service. Highly recommend this place. Give them a try and you will not be disappointed!

Grilled shrimps, big and comes with pepper and onions.

Burger was dry and burnt. Bun had mold on it. Won't be coming here or any location anymore.

Lots of mainly fried fish options, with a few grilled available as well. Fried Catfish! Wonderful proper crisp but light crust on a best ever thick filet light steamed with great flaky large filets. Shrimp really good and sides and gumbo are just right. Parking looked full but plenty of table space still available inside. They are known for very prompt service and food, so they apologized when it was going to take 10 minutes as they had just turned in orders for 2 parties of a dozen. Prices are quite reasonable, getting homemade quality for just about a dollar over commercial chains, with plenty of food on the plate. Unsweet tea was just brewed and better taste than you would expect... Worth the extra short drive around town to get there, and quite fine staff as well. Try it, you'll like it.

Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. It took over an hour for us to receive our food. We ordered shrimp and grits and two shrimp and fish platters. During the wait, I asked our server twice what was taking so long. Both times, I was told that they had a large party on the patio. While I understand that large parties can put additional pressure on a kitchen, that really shouldn't come at the expense of other customers who were seated and ordered before or around the same time. If the restaurant isn't able to accommodate a large party while maintaining reasonable service for other guests, there should be better planning and communication. What made it even more frustrating was watching other tables around us receive their food before we did. When I questioned the delay, the response was essentially that "some food takes longer than others." I understand that certain dishes may take more time to prepare, but waiting over an hour without any proactive communication or explanation was disappointing. This was my first visit, and unfortunately, the experience left a poor impression. I really wanted to enjoy the restaurant and give it a fair chance, but based on the service we received, I highly doubt we'll be returning. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because customers shouldn't have to repeatedly ask about their food after waiting that long.

Let me say you better come with your appetite. Or you're going home with leftovers. I wanted a po-boy, shrimp n crawfish. It wasn't in the menu but waitress made it happen. That's a good waitress. When the platter showed up, it had a po-boy loaded, LOADED, with shrimp and tails. So many that they fell on ver into the FFs. Everything was excellent. Big shrimp. Lots of tails. An excellent tartar sauce. The FFs were some of the best I've ever had. I asked for crispy - they were perfect. I had so much left over the wife and I had it for dinner. When I got home, I told my daughter in law, who's from Shreveport, and she said Sam's is the best. She's right. Can't wait to try other offerings.

Everything is thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and clearly built around high-quality ingredients. Each dish feels intentional--balanced flavors, great textures, and the kind of attention to detail you immediately notice. Mae & Co is very small, but quaint. The wait staff and management were attentive and pleasant. The food, however, was just okay nothing worth writing home about. Like most places these days, the food was over priced for what we got, which amounted to one meal, an appetizer and a beverage for $45.
