It took many calls many days many weeks just to get somebody on the phone to make the appointment It's only one receptionist that doesn't really work at the front desk and then one doctor, The vibe of the place on the outside and the inside is very cold and unwelcoming, I saw the doctor They took x-rays and I had a consultation and in that consultation I got a very uncomfortable and a bad vibe from him. This doctor is uncaring and unfriendly, cold, and his talent his expertise is very minimal. I would not recommend him. read more

I would highly recommend coming to this dentist. Dr. Yang is very knowledgeable and honest. He doesn't try to do things to your teeth just to get additional money from the insurance companies. I have a crown that at one point was bothering me and I went in to 2 different dentists and both of the other dentists recommended to replace the crown. I went to see Dr. Yang and he explained to me that even though they replace the crown it would still come out shaped the same as the old one and I would be having the same issues of getting food caught there anyways, so it wouldn't help to replace the crown. Wow I was impressed!! And to think I was ready to spend the $400 for a new crown. Thank you Dr. Yang!! The office staff is great and the office is clean. This is the best dentist in San Diego that accepts Medi-Cal insurance, I promise you! (I have Community Health Group to be exact, if that matters?) The only con I have, is that he sadly doesn't offer any sedation options like laughing gas or valium. But if that's not an issue for you, then he's a really nice, gentle person & his office is nice & clean, and the staff is very nice & accommodating too. And they even accept walk-ins too which is super convenient and rare to find in a dentist office lol! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Yang since 2018 for checkup and cleaning. Today I brought my 3.5 yo daughter with me for checkup and cleaning. The staff are super patient with my daughter. Dr Yang has some props to teach my daughter how to properly brush and floss teeth. Highly recommended!! read more

Honestly I can not say enough about Dr. Yang. He is simply the best. He really goes above and beyond for his patients. I've called him at inconvenient times (in pain) and he always took care of me right away. He calls me after he treats me just to make sure I'm doing alright. I'm gonna be completely honest I haven't been to the dentist in a very long time, my boyfriend had Dr.Yang last year I was having some wisdom teeth issues and Dr.Yang was my first choice to go to to have them checked out. I remembered that he was very thorough about explaining the growth of my wisdom teeth, I wanted to add that I did not have insurance at the time and his front desk were very kind and polite about that. He was able to recommend me a place to get my teeth pulled. I've been going to see Dr.Yang for about a year now and I haven't had any issues or complaints about him and how thoughtful and caring he is about his patients. I had a colored filling done because one of my silver fillings from a long time ago cracked and I was unaware that I was allergic to what they were using Dr. Yang and his team made sure they were checking up on me that same week to ensure I was not having any issues with my fillings. Like many other dentists, I think Dr. Yang is dishonest. I had a "cavity" that was too small to be seen on X-ray. He filled it about 4-5 years ago (in my 30s and never had a cavity) and now it is increasingly sensitive when chewing on firm-hard food. IMO, I NEVER had a cavity! I got tricked into getting a filling on a good tooth! Please always get a second opinion before getting any procedures. read more

They have been great so far. I had to make an emergency trip here and take an extended lunch and they were able to fit me into their schedule. They took their time to check out my issue and followed the proper procedure. I got back for a crown soon hopefully. I been concerned about my gums, so Dr. yang took a look and told me what I can do to help them from receding. My wife loves Dr Yang she comes all the way from San Francisco to get her teeth taken care off. Despite the fact we haven't lived in Sd for years. She is very squeamish and finds his care to be gentle and painless. He uses lidocaine mouth wash and she finds it to be much better then other dentists she has used in the San Francisco Bay Area. read more

Dr. Yang and his staff were very friendly and welcoming. Today was my first visit and he did a very thorough examination of my teeth and mouth. I'm not even sure where to begin. First of all, he was clearly in a rush. I had some questions before we began the procedure (I needed 5 fillings) and he answered them, but seemed eager to start. When I asked him about some of the teeth that needed fillings he said "I don't remember, I'll have to take a look." I don't expect him to memorize the details of all my cavities, but he just sounded so unprofessional. Does he not look at a chart and some notes before he sees his patients? Also, it was supposed to be 4 fillings, but apparently he added another one after I left my exam the last time. Anyway, he was extremely disorganized. Throughout the procedure he and his hygienist would lose track of where various tools were. He would say "where is the such and such" and she would look around and say "um, idk" and he would fumble through the tools near him and say "oh, I found it." This happened over and over again throughout the procedure. Not only does this not inspire confidence, but it made the whole procedure take longer, which when you have your jaw wide open and are getting 5 fillings that really adds up and is extremely uncomfortable. Finally, the procedure was done and it was time to smooth and file down the fillings. I had to tell him again and again that they weren't smooth and didn't feel right. It felt so sloppy. One of the fillings seemed to be all over several teeth and it took him several tries to get it feeling better. Then when I got home and flossed for the first time after the procedure, one of the fillings wasn't smoothed down enough, so part if it got caught on the floss and ripped out! Another one of the fillings gets caught on the floss too. Unbelievable. I will not be going back to Dr. Yang. I will find another dentist to help fix his sloppy work. I felt compelled to write a review because it was such a bad experience and because one of the reasons I chose Dr. Yang was because of his glowing yelp reviews. He was so sloppy and unprofessional, it's hard for me to imagine he was just having an off day. Like I said, I will not be returning to Dr. Yang. read more

Excellent dentist and staff! Went to him to last year for new patient appointment, which included x-rays, full exam and teeth cleaning, at a decent price. Super clean office and nice staff that you feel comfortable. Second visit was due to an urgent issue, wisdom tooth infection, which I was able to be seen same day. Was prescribed antibiotics and had the tooth removed the following week, which caused no pain whatsoever. Called me to see how I was doing both those times, very nice of him. Dr. Yang is very professional and nice. I would say I will choose Dr. Yang as my lifetime dentist. Personally speaking, I am very scared of seeing a doctor. But each experience in Dr. Yang's dental office is pleasant (I have been there for several times). Dr. Yang and all of his assistants are very nice. He will talk with each patient much about gum/teeth state in detail and also instruct on how to keep it healthy in everyday life.
