Goldstick's office manager contacted us 3 times to tell us to write a check or pay cash for procedures BCBS had paid for- months ago paid for. The office manager's demand was so suspect that me and my husband double checked to see if this was a scam, and it was the sketch office manager demanding 10k for procedures that were paid for by BCBS and what ever small co-pay we paid. A shame a good surgeon has an office like this.

After evaluating my son Dr. Daisy confirmed that his vision was fine, but she was worried that the headaches were being caused by weak eye muscles and thought he could possibly benefit from vision therapy. She gave us some exercises to try at home, but recommended we also look into vision therapy. I did a little research on where people go for vision therapy (who knew there was such a thing?) and made an appointment here for an evaluation at Vision Rehabilitation. We saw Dr. Sorensen in April for a longish (1.5 hours?) appointment which my son didn't seem to mind. At the end she did confirm he would benefit from 16 weeks of vision therapy to strengthen his eye muscles and would also help him from losing his place when reading etc. I asked for a report that I could read thru and possibly use for school accommodations. She promised to get it to me within 2 weeks. 2 months later I realized I never got the report so I followed up and recently received it, which was helpful to pass along to my son's teacher. The thought of adding another weekly appt to my busy kids schedule right now didn't seem appealing so I figured I"d call back in the spring to get this going in the summer. At my son's recent physical our pediatrician recommended we get a second opinion from Lurie before starting the therapy so we just booked with the Dr. he recommended for this coming April (the soonest we could get in). And from there we'll decide on next steps for vision thearpy. If you don't want to go to Lurie overall we had a good experience with this office and Dr. Sorenson seemed to pretty knowledgeable.

Its very easy to make appointments and communicate with the office and the staff is great. Dr. Frohm uses all of the modern technology to make sure you are getting a great exam - not just checking your vision but really the health of your eyes. But the best thing is that he has incredible 'bedside manner'. He explains everything he is testing and why its important and ultimately he treats decisions around your vision correction as a partnership. He advises me on how to balance my distance and reading options and walks through how different lenses might affect me. He's also never looking to 'sell' anything - he listens to the patient and simply makes recommendations. Plus, he's just a really nice person who has ties back to the area/community.

At one point, she even stated, "Why are you here? We are not going to treat your eye condition." We were well aware of the situation, but were attending the clinic for a necessary yearly visit. Furthermore, throughout our visit, the doctor was pacing from room to room while yelling at her staff, which created a very uncomfortable environment. Due to this experience, we will never return to this clinic, nor will we refer anyone else to your practice. I believe it is important for you to be aware of how patients are being treated. Well Dr K said I had I had a stroke and must drive to the nearest Emergency Room. My eyes were still dilated and the road wasn't easy to see. Eventually and carefully made it home taking 2 roads and called an ambulance . By the grace of God, I made to the hospital safely where I am now. I had contacted the clinic and reported the situation. "Dr K" called me with a sickeningly sweet apology.

They do have multiple front staff and an optician sat down with my daughter to go through the trays of frames that were covered. Efficiently, the optician picked on possibles to try on (that weren't obviously too big/small) and my daughter narrowed it down to two, and there was a clear favorite. Their staff had been very helpful over the phone, confirming coverage and suggesting when to visit to drop by (since an appointment isn't needed) but that they wanted to manage their customer traffic for COVID.

What is great to see that is consistent from the prior owner is at the doctors are incredibly talented skillful helpful and personable. Dr. Lu is who I usually deal with and she is fantastic for not only myself but my entire family. What I like about her style is that she's very clear concise direct and focused on the health and vision of my eyes. This place continues to have an incredible selection of frames as well for all price points. The entire front office staff is completely different than it was with the prior doctor and that's OK because changes always happened. What I am glad is at the front office staff like their predecessors are super friendly and personable. They're always willing to help and always trying to be accommodating. I truly enjoy coming here because they don't waste my time and they're extremely great at what they do. I have consistently bought frames with lenses here and they are punctual and transparent in pricing and they never try to up charge you or sell you things you don't need. I had difficulty seeing anything up close with the contacts I wore that were based on her prescription. Reading books, checking my watch, or reading on my phone was impossible due to the blurriness. It bothered me for 2 years, and I was very frustrated with the issue. I asked her to adjust the prescription several times. She made slight adjustments, which were not helpful. She finally told me she could do no more, or I would have trouble seeing things far away. She also told me that it was normal to have blurry vision while wearing contacts when looking at things close up because contacts are different than glasses. This was incorrect information! I wasn't sure what the problem was, but I figured it was my eyes. Eventually, due to the discomfort, I gave up wearing contacts unless it was absolutely necessary. The issue was finally resolved when I took a trip to Taiwan and consulted an optometrist there who told me that the prescription Dr. Dalporto gave me was entirely wrong and too strong. They said that she should not have simply given me a prescription based on whatever the vision test machine determined. Every prescription needs to be adjusted based on each individual's lifestyle and habits so that anything--both close up and at a distance--can be seen clearly and comfortably. I received a new prescription, and when I tried the new contacts, I immediately noticed a huge difference. They were so comfortable, and I had no trouble seeing or reading things on a computer, on my phone, or close up. The problem I had with blurriness that had been bothering me for years was finally resolved! Now I can wear contacts again--every day, all day. I went back to Dr. Dalporto and asked her to adjust the prescription on file based on the new prescription. She simply copied the numbers directly from the Taiwanese prescription and checked my vision. It was 20/20, of course. Had she actively tried her best to help me achieve the most comfortable and accurate prescription years ago, I would not have suffered so much with blurry vision when trying to see things close up! When I complained, the office manager was cold and impatient and didn't apologize for all the trouble I had been through. Instead, she asked me, "Is there anything else?" At this point, I was so fed up with this mess and so shocked at the customer service I received that I decided to change optometrists completely for my own vision care. One of the fundamental jobs of an optometrist is to give correct, comfortable contact lens prescriptions to patients. If they fail to provide an accurate prescription, it raises serious doubts about their professional competence. This experience proved to me that Dr. Dalporto doesn't care about her patients' vision, nor does she try her best to solve the vision issues they have. Instead, she is very passive, only does what she is asked to do (but poorly), and performs vision tests that a robot could do. In a word, she is incompetent. Don't go to Dr. Dalporto. She is totally unprofessional and won't give you a correct prescription!

I gave them my vision insurance info and they said they accepted it. I got a call a few days later by a women at the front desk asking for my insurance. She told me the call center said that (why is a call center telling ppl if they approve of ins or not???) she said she would look into it and get back to me. I never heard from her. I called the AM of my appointment which I got a text confirming the appt but the office had never heard of me and didn't have my appointment. The women at the front desk were beyond rude! I would never even make another appointment there again.

I also had to make arrangements for my other son to be picked up from camp at 3:00, so the delay created additional stress and scheduling issues. Dr. Berman was kind and professional, but the office's scheduling and communication process need significant improvement. Patients' time--especially families with young children--should be treated with more consideration.
