It was really busy for a Bruins game that was going to start in a couple hours, so this place looked like a great bar to watch the game at or even before or after the game. Walking around we wanted to grab drinks so we decided to stop here. Fun looking place, good amount of seating & areas to sit & watch the games on the big screens. Drinks we went with New England juicy Ipa & the Last boss both good, nice taste. We stopped by the Samuel Adams Tap Room for lunch this afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff was friendly, attentive, and very helpful with menu recommendations. On our bartender's suggestion, we ordered the Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza and it absolutely delivered. The crust was perfectly balanced -- crisp and firm on the outside while remaining soft and airy in the center, exactly how great pizza should be served. The sauce had excellent flavor, and the combination of pepperoni and hot honey created the perfect balance of savory, sweet, and heat without overpowering the pie itself. My wife sampled a flight of four locally available beers and really enjoyed the opportunity to try selections that are difficult to find outside the Boston area. I jokingly told her not to become too attached to them since we wouldn't be bringing them home with us. The atmosphere inside the Tap Room was lively, modern, and unmistakably Boston, with plenty of Samuel Adams history woven throughout the space without feeling overly commercialized. Had a fun time at the Sam Adams Tap Room. This is not the actual brewery as it's located near the center of Boston but its just as good. They were having Boston Marathon specials here with commemorative merchandise, 26.2 brews made just for the race, pint glasses, bottle openers, and more. We were here a few nights before the marathon and a live band was playing, and we ate some delicious warm pretzels with dipping sauces and tater tops along with some chicken tenders. Appropriate bar snacking to fuel up for the race! LOL! Good staff, a store up front to purchase all types of Sam Adams brand items & packs of their brews, and a large dining area with community long tables to sit at. Definitely worth a visit. read more

Brewery #408 Sam Adams was my 1st experience into craft brewing about 20 years ago and Sam Adams Boston Lager was a staple in my house for years. So, while I didn't get to visit the actual brewery, this tap room in the heart of downtown was second best. When you arrive, there is a gatekeeper checking ID's like I am about to go into a nightclub with glowsticks just right off the campus of some college. You even get a stamp on your hand. Beer and food were to be ordered at the bar. I asked the bartender if the outdoor patio was open and he rolled his eyes and pointed at a sign that said upstairs was closed. Sorry I missed it when going through the TSA precheck line. I then asked about flights and he looked annoyed again. I got one anyway. Sorry if you have to pour 4 mini beers instead of 1 big one. Life is tough. Anyway, the beer was solid, and glad I got to try 4 new things that I haven't had. I wish the upstairs patio would have been open as it was 71 degrees and sunny. Was a great stopping point while on our Freedom Trail audio tour we were taking. Love the beer. Food was pub grub and filled our bellies. Staff was friendly and attentive. We stopped here for a quick drink in the afternoon. What I thought was interesting was that they were in the process of changing menus, in other words, they were getting ready to raise the prices because the FIFA World Cup was coming into town. I saw several people say something to the bartenders upstairs that the prices were higher than they anticipated. All the bartenders said was yeah we're changing the menu. The prices are new. But that obviously wasn't the price that we saw when we placed our order. And I'm pretty sure I saw the bartender slide several free beers to his friend who was at the bar next to me. Stopped by Samuel Adams Boston TapRoom right by Quincy Market and it's a great spot if you're in the area. The location is super central and the space is big, with plenty of tables, so it's easy to find a place to sit even when it's busy. There's a huge selection of beers, which was perfect since I was just there to grab a drink (did not try the food, but they do have a full menu). Great place to come grab a beer and go people watching from the upstairs balcony. Here you can find an assortment of Sam Adams (including seasonal and exclusive brews) to enjoy. All their beers are on tap and I've only had great pours. For food, there is standard bar fare and you'll get a buzzer to let you know when to pick it up. I will state, for the record, that I'm not a fan of Sam Adams beers. I've tried numerous Sam Adams brews over the years and never found a single one that I actually liked. While I don't like their beers, I would never downplay Sam Adams relevance when it comes to beers in New England. That being said, we stopped into the Samuel Adams Tap Room while in Boston for lunch while we were walking the Freedom Trail. It's kind of hard to miss because the trail goes right by it. It was midday Friday, so the place was hopping and we were lucky we got a four-top right inside the door. Screens all over had sports and the overhead music was 70s thru 90s, and not so loud that you couldn't hold a conversation. There's a gift shop inside and then several levels of table and at least two bars. It's decorated without with Sam Adams imagery and sports on televisions. If you want to order anything you need to go to the downstairs bar. When your food is ready you can pick it up at a table to the left of the bar. Since it was lunch I opted for their nachos and a can of Coke®. I'll tell ya, on an 80° day with full sun, that Coke® over ice was AMAZING. The nachos were very good, and one of the sauces (I couldn't identify which one) had a very unique taste. Speaking of unique, in each of the restroom stalls there's a beer holder. I'm not kidding and I wouldn't normally mention restrooms in a review, but it was unique and thoughtful enough that I couldn't not mention it. Even though I didn't have a beer, I'm glad we stopped into Samuel Adams Tap Room. It was a fun time and I'd gladly stop in again and challenge myself to find a Sam Adams beer I would like. read more

We had the Octoberfest, one of our absolute favorites -- perfect for a beautiful fall day in the city. We actually didn't finish the entire Freedom Trail and ended up at the Samuel Adams Tap Room instead. I mean, it was right there! And we wanted beer! Great space to hang out for a few hours and I loved that you could do so many variations of beer flights. Didn't really have any of the food, but it looked pretty standard. For the Fourth of July weekend it was pretty crowded, especially on the roof which had a separate line. I've always wanted to come to a Sam Adams location in Mass! Sam Adams is one of my favorite breweries and I was so happy to spend a couple of hours here recently. A friend and I sat at the bar and ordered flights and French fries. The beers were delicious but the fries seasoning was a bit overdone. Less would have been better. One of the best parts of our trip was the bartender Neib. He was personable and chatted with us the whole time we were there. He also wrote us a list of recommended places for nightlife. Great Boston Brewery! Came here Saint Patrick's Day Weekend and it was the perfect place to celebrate. There was a short, 10 minute line to get in, but no cover charge. They were making sure to keep a lower capacity inside, so it was comfortable to walk around and enjoy your time with friends not in a crowded area. Inside everything was decorated with green, Irish flags, and clovers. They even had a live band playing to bring the holiday spirit. Bartenders were quick to keep lines short and beer flowing. Adding green dye to any light beer was free for the day, making the day extra fun. I ordered the American Light, a very nice and smooth beer. It was $8, which was surprisingly low compared to the other bars downtown that jacked up prices for the weekend. Great atmosphere and delicious drinks! Only downside was the weekend was only 21+ so my friend wasn't allowed in with her 1 year old daughter despite the environment being calm and plenty of space. read more

We spotted the Samuel Adams Tap Room perched on a second floor balcony overlooking Faneuil Hall and the Financial District. Even from a distance, we could tell that the happy hour scene was thriving, and we vowed to make it there one evening during our stay. Well, we ended up at the tap room on a Friday evening. Walking into the ground floor entrance, we saw two large bars and a bunch of tables, as well as a branded shop. It was very much decorated like a touristy Hard Rock Cafe or something similar. We took the elevator to the second floor and were confronted with a large crowd of young 20-somethings and some business folk. There was a DJ spinning tunes, one packed bar with only a few stools on the side, and several high-top tables. We were able to secure a single bar stool, but it took forever for us to place our order. We finally did so, just in time to score a table that became available. The crisp night air and view of the city lights made for a lovely atmosphere, but, as the night went on, it definitely became a trendier, less corporate scene. In terms of the brews, I opted for a small, tasting-size pour of the Spicy Spa Day. The summery beer included notes of watermelon, cucumber, and jalapeno, so it was like a Ranch Water cocktail that balanced heat and refreshment. I also had a few sips of my companion's Old Man Yells at Cloudy IPA and the House Hazy Session IPA, but found the Old Man one to have much more body than the Session, which was as versatile and easy to drink as its namesake. Came here recently with friends before/during the Redbull event taking place at the City Hall. When we first arrived it wasn't busy and we got a table/ordered drinks immediately. Everyone enjoyed their drinks and the selection offered. As for the food, a friend described it has "high school hockey area food" and that is spot on. A friend ordered chicken tenders which were ready within a minute of ordering them. He rated them top five worst tenders he's had. I ordered mozzarella sticks and tater tot's that were supposed to have beer battered cheese and bacon. The mozzarella sticks weren't anything to rave about, I ate them because I was hungry. They came out slightly warm but borderline cold - the side of marinara was ice cold. The tater tot's didn't have any toppings on them and were bland, not even salted. Besides the food this is a great spot to visit with family and friends as it's spacious and everyone who works there is kind. We wish the line wasn't so long to go to the rooftop but we'll visit back in warmer weather read more

Pretty good beer selection! I got the blueberry lager and my fiancé got the cherry wheat. They really tasted like blueberry and cherry! The food was okay. We got the Fenway franks and the tater lots loaded with bacon bits and beer cheese. The tots were stellar, especially with the Red Hot hot sauce!, but the Fenway franks were mid. They were just like normal hot dogs that you could have made at home. Nothing special about them. But the tots were amazing! Super tasty and crunchy. We would go back and try another of their beers! When in boston do things that "your cousin from Boston" does and come visit the sam Adams taproom. I loved walking into the sprawling area that has every Sam Adams , beers, decor and some amazing staff. The bartenders were very helpful and extremely friendly and knowledgeable about all things sam (which you'd expect). We had to grab some lunch bites and once again "amateur hour" got me and I missed some pics of the food. But the gose' beer was a great paring with the nachos which were served up in a tray and a decent quick lunch bite , the cherry wheat went well with the pulled pork sliders which received good reviews from my friend and lastly the hot dog and beer meal was a good deal for 2 dogs chips and a beer! Things to skip- the cheese pizza. While the cheese is ok that's about the extent of it. It has that cardboard texture and taste which even the little yelper said no to and she's a cheese pizza connoisseur. I'd definitely come back again next time I'm in the area. The pretzel bites were good. I really enjoyed the spicy mustard and the beer cheese was even better. The beer was not very good though. Sam Adams isn't necessarily at the top of my beer list, but these were especially bad. They were flat and mealy. If you take longer than 2 minutes to drink them, you'll be left with a glass of flat bread water that tastes like Fruity Pebbles. Something a newer brewery might struggle with, so I expected more out of Sam Adams. Not good and won't be back. read more

In a phrase - better than expected! For a major corporate brewhouse I didn't think this would amount to much. We went on a busy summer weekend and were fortunate to find a table for a large group. Location is prime, the restaurant was a touch dirty overall but that was just kind of the vibe. We got beers from the bar and moved them over to our table. There is a tap room floor inside where you walk down after you enter or you can proceed to the top floor where it is outdoor with standing and sitting room. We opted to sit inside on the bottom floor. It wasn't too busy on a weekday after work so that was nice. Service was great here! They were super friendly and helpful with helping us select beers and made sure we liked everything. The flights here are super reasonable $17 for 4 pours. I loved being able to try all the exclusives and seasonal. The tater tots here were disappointing though. They came out soggy and not crispy. read more
