Close up of Classic Hot Lobster Roll

Food - absolutely amazing. The hot lobster roll is probably one of the best in Boston. Butter, packed to the brim with meat and fries as a nice touch and not over complicated. Highly recommend. Service - while we were seated immediately as a table of 6, the service was definitely lacking. We had to call a food runner to get our server as we were waiting for a hot minute in the beginning. Also, no water refills until we got the check and were ready to leave. We sat outside under an umbrella and it was an absolute vibe. Only giving 4 stars due to lack of service. Otherwise, great restaurant and stop!

I wanted to love it more... but our meal was just ok. We ordered charcuterie, and while the meats and accoutrements were very good... it needed cheese, but that had to be ordered separately. I didn't like the choice of either or. My chicken sandwich was ok... very small chicken breast, and my wife's was bone dry. The aioli was very good. Maybe we ordered the wrong items, but probably not on our list of spots to return to. We did have excellent service, and the bar is certainly a fun atmosphere.

It was a nice day so we took advantage of Bostonia's outdoor patio seating. Great view of the local architecture and people. SERVICE: Great! Our server was outside frequently checking on us and got us our food and drinks quickly. Very friendly! FOOD: Our lobster rolls were very tasty and the food was very fresh. We got a free Arnold Palmer by mistake and it tasted great too! Had a great time here...would try again when I'm here in Boston.

Burger, salad and a beer for a great lunch.

Stopped in on a Monday for a burger and a beer, and was delighted by my experience. Had to sit at the bar because the place was pretty mobbed, but that was ok. The burger came with bacon, lettuce, tomato, bacon and a wonderful aioli sauce (I skipped the cheese), and it was cooked to perfection. Had the side salad, which came with a nice vinaigrette, and it was very good. Had the Lamplighter beer on draft and it was so refreshing. If we're in the area again, we will be back!

Service was fantastic. Food was good took a long time. Went early on a Sunday morning. Was able to get a seat at the bar.

Across the street from the Custom House. Cool casual breakfast place also serves lunch. They have a lot of bar space and seating. The Lavazza coffee tasted good. The service was quick with many people in the restaurant. They have interesting breakfast options. We enjoyed the short rib poutine had an excellent Gruyère melted cheese pull. It tasted a bit like French onion short rib over tater tot's very savory would order again. The popper breakfast sandwich was also very good. It had herby cream cheese, Serrano pepper, couple eggs, and sausage and cheese on English muffin.

First impression, hostess were not friendly. First visit was to grab a few appetizers and give it a chance with no reservation, got seated by the restroom. The server was really nice and attentive to our needs and requests. Ordered Korean short ribs, tuna tataki and clam chowder, very large portion for the price, great quality, all under $80. Second visit, made a reservation for a Saturday brunch at 1pm, same hostess, this time we were greeted with a smile and seated near a bar. Server was a little confused when I ordered a spiked match latte, from the menu, asked to take the menu up to the bartender. Apparently she didn't know about the new drink item? The short ribs poutine breakfast was good, the classic Benedict, not so much. The sauce was so sour on one and too salty on the other, English muffins were hard as a rock. Thumbs down on this.

Food was good this place is living history here in Boston it's been around ever since America has . The food is good but not sure it's good enough for the price though . The service is excellent and the atmosphere is vintage cool . It's good for special events or date nights for sure .

Just came back for dinner. Great gluten free options !! The lobster mac had a great amount of lobster in it. The steak frites is good and great for sharing.

Went with a group of friends on a Friday night, place was packed. The service was ok the food was also ok but a bit pricey which is to be expected due to location State St in the financial district. Might come back in the future we'll see!

They brought out really quality nibbles for our event. It's cozy, it's cool, and the drinks are great. I ordered some fruit moon drink. Harvest moon? Excellent. SO good I ordered a second! The staff is kind and professional. I'll definitely be back here soon! The upstairs is a great event space too.

Had a delicious lunch here last weekend! The food was amazing, and portions were great for lunch. Although definitely very seafood heavy, I opted for a hot chicken sandwich as my main and was not disappointed. My boyfriend also had great things to say about the clam chowder. We shared a half-dozen oysters, and they were extremely fresh. The service was a bit slow considering the place wasn't too busy, and our interactions with the hostesses and servers were a bit awkward--they didn't take much initiative to ask how we were doing (different vibe from many restaurants in the area). Overall, would definitely return for a great lunch.

I was in Boston and I decided to give Bostonia Public House a try after hearing many great things about it. With that known, I started things off with their New England Clam Chowder. Having said that, the clam chowder was delicious. To explain, the chowder was creamy, rich, and flavorful. In addition, the potatoes were hearty and fresh. Also, the clams were cooked perfectly. It was a top tier clam chowder. After that, I ordered a hot lobster roll with fries and the results were great. To breakdown, the lobster roll was very good. The lobster was tender, delicate, and fresh. Likewise, the roll was airy and toasted to perfection. It was definitely one of the better lobster rolls I've had. In similar fashion, the fries were tasty as well. The fries were hot, crispy, and seasoned nicely. Everything was just plain delicious. In due course, Bostonia Public House is a satisfying restaurant with great clam chowder and lobster rolls.

We were seated immediately, the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and Sarah, our waitress, was top-notch--friendly, helpful, and genuinely delightful. We started with the Maple Glazed Brussels Sprouts, which were so yummy. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the Spicy Tuna Dynamite Roll and absolutely loved the Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert. I had the Vegetarian Power Bowl, and it was one of those meals you remember long after the trip is over. Since Moxies was just a few steps from our hotel, we thought it would be the perfect place for lunch before heading back to Arizona. We were offered a table inside or on the second-floor patio, and we chose the patio. Maybe that was our mistake. From the moment we sat down, it felt like a completely different restaurant. The atmosphere was very casual, but unfortunately so was the service. Our waitress was forgetful, clueless, and at times borderline disrespectful. Our food arrived completely cold after apparently sitting for over 30 minutes, yet there was no acknowledgment of the delay--not even a simple apology. I honestly couldn't believe this was the same place we had raved about the night before. If I were reviewing only our dinner, this would be an easy 5 stars. But I can't ignore what happened the next day. Maybe we were just unlucky. Maybe the patio has a different rhythm than the dining room. I really don't know. I just wish our last memory before heading back to Arizona had been as wonderful as our first.

It was a Sunday night and we didn't feel like going far for a meal. That's when we put the voucher to use as the Capiz is in the lobby of the hotel. We went for an early dinner. Walking into the restaurant, no one was there to greet us and there was no host stand. Finally, a server (who also turned out to be our server) told us to pick where we wanted to sit. We chose a four-top table. When it was time to order, we were dealing with a limited menu. I chose lobster quesadillas, which were listed under "appetizers". My husband chose the fish and chips. The quesadilla was sloppily made. Some pieces had hardly any cheese or lobster in them. Other pieces were overloaded with lobster and cheese. While it was all edible and the lobster was properly cooked, it still was underwhelming. My husband said the fish was well prepared, flaky and crispy at the same time. There were too many French fries, making the plate a bit messy. In a pinch, Capiz did fit the bill as we didn't feel like going far for a meal that day.

We ordered several dishes to share: beef tartare, octopus, crudo, steak, meatloaf, Brussels sprouts, and lobster mac & cheese. Out of everything, the octopus was the only dish that really stood out, and the drinks were still solid. Steak was at high price point but below average for quality. Mac and cheese somehow the sauce was all on the bottom and not covering the Mac.. Also, Parmesan seemed to be on about 95% of the dishes. I like Parmesan, but after this meal, I never want to see another sprinkle of it again. LOL. The service was honestly the biggest disappointment. For an upscale restaurant charging upscale prices, I expected much more attentive service. No one ever came by to ask how the food was, and I actually had to box up my own leftovers. At this price point, that should not be happening. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and I can see myself coming back for drinks and maybe a few apps at the bar. But for dinner? I'd skip the table and the entrees.
