I was impressed by their selection of necklace charms. I found exactly what I was looking for (after visiting 2 other jewelry place in the same mall). I knocked off a few stars for a few reasons: #1- the prices weren't clear... When I would see the price tags, she'd say "Oh there's a sale, let me get the new price" but there were no signs anywhere, so it made me feel like a used car lot where you never know exactly what the price is. #2- My piece had diamonds in it, she told me that it's covered for 3 years if any diamonds fall out. That was all she told me. Now, I know (from other places- like when I got my wedding rings) that you need to have your diamonds checked every 6 months for that to be valid.... And it was on some pamphlet she put in my bag. She never mentioned anything about getting it checked... so that could be bad for someone doesn't know that- if they had a diamond fall out. #3- Some employee (who doesn't have the friendliest demeanor) took a personal phone call at the register (literally standing between me and the girl charging me out) and just stood there in the way chatting.... verrrry unprofessional. I was referred to this store by a relative who mentioned he had received a good deal. Originally I went in on my lunch break with very little time. I needed to start looking for a piece of jewelry for our anniversary. I was assisted by Rob. I was very indecisive and had little time. But this guy saved the day. I was impressed by his suggestions on what I could buy, he was very patient with my many questions. We went to the mall just to look at rings and we stopped at just about every jewelry store there. We walked into Samuels and were immediately greeted by Shamneran (aka Shammi), the friendliest person to help us by far. She was so knowledgable and informative and confident in the diamonds she was showing me. So confident, in fact, that she told me to take my time and shop around because she knew I would be back - Samuels has the best quality diamonds. And she was right. When we went back, she recognized us immediately and was more than willing to help. She sat with us for nearly two hours while we tried to make our decision. We picked out the diamond first and then searched for a band to fit it in. We went back and forth for so long! Then she had an idea..she showed me a ring that I would have never considered on my own. And I fell in love! Shammi was so helpful! And we have been back a handful of times to get my ring cleaned and to look at wedding bands. I just want to say that I went to samuels Jewelers and they were fantastic. They helped me pick out a wedding set for my wife because when we got married we couldn't afford an expensive wedding ring . They had a special going on where I could get interest free 0 down 0 interest for 5 years on the wedding set . My credit was good but not enough to qualify for the $4000+ set that I had picked out. It was already discounted but I only qualified for 3800. So to make the sale they discounted it a little bit more to make it to 3800 I needed to qualify. I used to deal with Samuels many yrs ago, since they have a new staff, But still the same great customer service. I was totally impressed after 2yrs sinced last purchase Robert remembed our names! He went above and beyond to make sure my engagement ring was ready in such a short notice. "Ready' meaning I loved my ring just wanted the diamond to be turned a different angle, which required a jeweler, 3 days before the day my fiance popped the question. I found all this out later. Here we are 10days before our wedding, Robert wasnt in, Rachonda was such a huge help picking out the wedding band. I can't say enough about the Staff here. No high pressure! After spending 30K plus on our 25th anniversary set in 2010 and having it maintained quarterly I find out today by the new store manager that the warranty ended 3 years ago. Not quite what I would expect after spending a nice sum for my wife's rings. Now this new manager wants $600 to extend the warranty for life. Well the other reason I was in the store today was to talk about upgrading the diamond to a 2 plus caret center stone front the 1.75 stone. I was thinking to spend 10 to 15K in the process but now I have second thoughts and will start a new relationship with Roger's Jewelers instead of Samuel's. I don't know why Rob left but it appears the store is heading down in sales and customer service. read more

I'm giving 2 stars based on Customer service alone. Every time we went in here we got a snotty rude lady. Different one each time. Nobody answers the phone either. My husband and I went in at a spur of the moment, we had been looking for a specific style ring for months and we thought we'd come take a look. Karla took care of us. She was very nice. Very professional and took her time with us and made sure that the ring we finally found is the one we really wanted. They didn't have my size so she said they would have to order it and it would take 6 weeks. That's fine :) she said as it gets closer to stay in touch. We also ordered it to be engraved. So 6 weeks go by and I call and a very rude lady says they'll call us. 2 more weeks go by so I call again same lady says "yes it's in. It's been in for weeks now"...thanks for calling? So I go to pick it up and they never engraved it! Tells me it's going to be another week. Then tries to charge me again for it. Says it's not on her receipt. Well it's on mine (keep those receipts) my husband and I are fed up with this place. I'm really tempted to just ask for my $. Nobody knows what's going on. It seems like they're all in their own little world doing whatever they want. Poor business ethics. read more

Horrible experience I got a ring and have had it 5 months and lost 4 diamonds out of it . They take forever to get it fixed I've literally worn it 2 months out of the time because there always sending it off . I try and work a deal with them to give me another ring for little bit more of a upgrade and pay little more they can't do that either. I ask to have the same one sent the old douche bag manager he went around and around with me about it and said he was calling me getting me another one I called every week and he would give me some bull shit story until I went down there then decided to tell me he can't replace it ! Samuels jewelers in Modesto CA. Is the worst place to buy anything from them! They are rude and rip you off in a minute. The manager will not work with you, regardless of a warranty. They do terrible repairs. Had a ring upgrade there. Made out of platinum, they did work on it after purchasing a huge upgrade to my ring, and gave it back to me with bent prongs and made out of gold, not platinum to match the ring. Had to argue with the manager for changing it to gold without telling me! Of course he blamed his repair guy. Plus they didn't even give me back my original platinum ring head on two occasions! They just kept it. Now want to change their mistake of a six prong head back to original four prong head of platinum and they want to charge me for part and labor!!!! First they rip me off by keepping my scrap platinum, and then charge me for more money. after upgrading my ring to 16k more of my money. What kind of business is that?? BUYERS BEWARE!!! I wish I could leave no stars, but I can't. I'm so extremely disappointed and dissatisfied. I went into Samuels on February 11th, 2017 to pick my fiance's wedding band. We picked the perfect one and I paid full price that day. SHAMMY is the name of the lady who helped us and told us it would take 6-8 weeks. So, on April 3rd I called in to check on it since it had been almost 8 weeks and Shammy said she's not sure why it isn't in store yet and that she'd call me first thing tomorrow morning to let me know when I can pick it up. I called the next afternoon because I hadn't received a call just to be told that Shammy was off the next 2 days and only the person who put in the order can check on it which makes no sense to me. FINALLY, I received a call on Thursday from Shammy telling me it's her mistake but she NEVER ORDERED MY RING. Can you believe that? When I asked for a full refund she said she'd have to check with a manager to see if that was an option. HA! Ridiculous. So I called corporate and was told that I can definitely get a refund and I swear I will NEVER go back to Samuels. read more
