In Phoenix on Free Comic Book Day 2024, I googled shops closest to my location, and Samurai came up. Glad it did, we arrived at the shop, greeted by a friendly staff. Set-up for free comic pick-up was easy and smooth. They allowed (3) per person, and the line moved relatively quickly. Did some Bin diving while visiting, found some books I was looking for, and picked up some new issues w/variants. Great selection but terrible customer service. Do yourself a favor and go to the location on broadway. Much more helpful and happy to help and talk to customers. Comic book shopping at a local store is all about engaging with customers otherwise people would just buy online. Pricing not any better than competitors. Was trying to buy more but was so rushed that we only got half of what we came for. read more

they have some cool stuff and me and my friend were super excited to buy a bunch of stuff. then when my other friend went to the bathroom, they missed the "employees only" sign in front because it's barely visible and tilted towards the ground. The employee got super pissed and reminded us repeatedly to not do that again (we understood the first time big fella). sadly won't be coming back to this shit store, sucks when shit employees ruin a nice store. i get that my friend made a mistake, but it was a very easy to make mistake and did not merit the attitude of the employee, made the whole experience completely uncomfortable read more

Saw this place on the way home and decided to stop by with my son. Very clean and organized, welcoming environment. They had an area dedicated just to kids, which was so amazing. The staff was super nice and helpful, we will definitely be back read more

When we walked in, I thought the collection was pretty good. Pricing was alright; it was acceptable, but nothing too spectacular. The reason I'm giving it a one star is because the employees don't understand basic human needs and interactions. My friend just had to use the restroom and walked in, but it was apparently "employees only". That not only makes zero sense, but they were also extremely rude about it. Nice and clean location. Staff needs to be more into what they are hired to do instead of being on the cell phone. Beware of getting a pull box there. I have been using their Chandler store location since its opening. I have always been polite and have never had any problems with the store or staff. However, today I was approached by the store manager and accused of talking about him behind his back. First, this did not happen. Second, this is a personal matter and nothing to do with the store and you do not approach a customer about a personal matter in the store. Third, this is a very poor way in which to treat any customer, which I am a regular. Fourth, never going back to any of these store locations again. read more

today (10/22/2021) i had the pleasure of meeting the owners wife (i can't remember her name) but she was absolutely awesome! more below on how so! i recently moved into the chandler area and was trying to find a comic book home. i always heard of samurai comics but never really lived close by one. i visited there Glendale location on Dysart Rd back in January. and then i visited their Mesa store (before relocation) and found some great buys for super cheap! back to moving to chandler -- when i moved here from glendale az i was trying to find a place that i could call home. the closest place was Samurai Comics. so i went and checked it out. i was already familiar with the store since i had visited once before. i have had a subscription on my current list for about a month or so and let me tell you. your buying more than a subscription! your investing in a staff that talks with you! if your like me you like to talk to people about what your buying! All over the valley you have sports cards, comic shops, toy store, etc.. and they all kind of rude. but this Samuari Comics store in Chandler is the exact opposite. since i'm a guy i have gotten along with the other guys who work here at the chandler location. everytime i walk in they are so friendly and helpful. they engage i conversation and totally just nerd out with you! it's great! back to the owners. this was my 5 time being in the store since moving to chandler. i didn't notice her so i didn't think to much of it when i saw her. i walked in and was immediately greeted from a gentleman with long blonde hair (super cool guy) and another lady. i said i am here to buy the two PVC statues (Batman and Robin) as i am decorating my sons nursery in batman/robin gear. the gentlemen with the long blonde hair said "absolutely man! let me get the boxes" i replied "take your time i'm gonna look around for a while" i searched the store for nearly 15 minutes. i couldn't find anytime i wanted/needed and went on up to the counter. i purchased the two PVC statues and my subscription comics. i started talking to the owner (which i didn't know at the time) and was mentioning i just moved in there area. and starting mentioning other comic shops i go to. i mention a certain comic shop and why i loved them so much. (they have a great selection of back issues). she then starting talking to me about her getting the back issues in for me! though i know it was just a way for me to take all my spending (i spend a lot of money on comics). to her business. i didn't mind because she was being so helpful. she started writing down comic series that included nightwing that i was interested in! such a please purchasing from the chandler location will be back for the many years to come!!! read more
