What a wonderful facility!…read more This building is very new (only ~1.5 years old) and absolutely beautiful! You walk into a large naturally lit lobby, with local event flyers and news on display, as well as Millbrae branded merch (hats, shirts, etc) for sale. There is a reception desk with staff there to help and answer any questions. I came specifically to pick up a custom SF Giants Kleenex box that I ordered at the recent Millbrae Art & Wine Festival. We were greeted by Laurie, who was very friendly and told us all about what they had to offer at the Rec. Center. Just behind some glass doors near the lobby, is a game room. This is mostly targeted towards kids, with a giant TV and various video game systems to play with. We saw around a dozen kids hanging and playing in this area as we walked by. As you continue down on the first floor, there are classrooms, conference rooms, and even a giant hall that can be rented in full (or half) for private events! They also have a kitchen connected, which is helpful for events serving food. There are several clean and accessible bathrooms, as well as lots of fun historic photos on display. They have a Fitness Center with various equipment, and space for aerobic classes. There's also a room dedicated entirely to Ping Pong! If you get hungry or thirsty, there are two vending machines with drinks and snacks, and several water fountain/refill stations throughout. There is also an entire upstairs area. In addition to private rooms, there is a "Senior Lounge" which has comfortable seating, a large TV, and a half-kitchen. There is an outdoor patio connected up top with over a dozen lounge type chairs to enjoy some fresh air. They also have space for outdoor activities for people of all ages. There are multiple playgrounds for kids, in addition to multiple tennis courts and a large field. The Rec. Department also oversees many other fields (school and other) and a skate park, according to their website! If you live in (or near) Millbrae, you gotta check out this Rec. Center! There is a ton to do, it's super bright and clean, and the staff is all very friendly and welcoming! I'm looking forward to coming back again and utilizing some of these amazing features!

We have had…read morerelatives choose The Magnolia as a living option and have been so extremely happy with their new living situation. Apartments are well equipped with all you may need to live an independent life. The care offered for those who are in need is wonderfully caring and attentive. Outings, events, classes, quest speakers, trips...I can go on. My mother is so pleased living here-her life has opened up to social experiences, friendships, happy days shared. I can not speak more highly.

It is exceptionally clean, bright, cared for and well appointed. You get the feeling you are on a fine cruise ship! The residents are engaged and lively and seem to love it! The hallways are wide, and the one and two bedroom apartments are so nice. Both of my friends have stunning views, walk in closets, a small kitchen and large bathrooms. There is a swimming pool, beautiful outdoor patio areas, and many areas inside to enjoy. They have it well decorated for every season and holiday. There is also a small bistro "Emma's Sweet Shop" for a casual bite to eat, a beauty salon, and a gorgeous library where you can attend lectures etc. The downstairs dining room has white tablecloths and waiter and waitresses....definitely not cafeteria style....you always feel like you are fine dining. The food is also exceptional. Probably one of the best things about the Magnolia is the staff. Many have been there for 25 years. That definitely says something about them! They are kind, caring, and patient. They will go out of their way to make sure you are happy and comfortable and have all the services you need. This is independent living or assisted living, depending on your needs. We found the price more reasonable than most in the area. This is not a memory care facility, but if you live here you would not ever have to move. Excellent choice!

I am beyond furious at this center. My LGBTQ child matters... but not to THIS organization…read moreapparently. They strung us along all summer when my child needed services. Finally set something up after 3 months of waiting on their waiting list for 9/1. My daughter was SO happy to finally speak with someone. The therapist she was assigned to cancelled last minute, saying that she had "things come up" and wouldn't be able to see her and gave us resources to help find a therapist. She was devastated. We waited 3 months for THIS? Now I'm at ground zero with a depressed, vulnerable child who needs a professional NOW! They are so unprofessional!!! Do NOT use them. They'll string you along like they did to us!

They have a great lounge area and a well-stocked resource nook for those who are looking to get more LGBTQIA+ knowledge or just chill out and browse the web for a bit. They also have a wall full of flyers detailing the wide range of all their events, resources, workshops for any young, old, questioning, out and proud, curious, community-seeking individual. (or a straight ally maybe looking to volunteer? hint...) This center is pretty new having been open since this June, so if you're reading this please help spread the word, and drop by the center sometime if you can, because it's really quite lovely and a looong overdue addition to the San Mateo area.
