I went here for dinner and ordered the "yummy yummy" roll and when it arrived to our table and I tried I quickly realized that the crab meat was not good. I gave a bite size piece of the crab to everyone else at the table and they agreed that the meat wasn't good and it had a "funny taste that lingered in the mouth" as someone at the table put it. I brought this to the attention of my server, who was great by the way, and when the manager came out to speak with us he told us that their crab is always fresh and that they wouldn't be able to exchange for something else on the menu and because it was "half eaten", i had 2 pieces. He then said that the most that he can do is discount it from the check. He wasn't even able to take it off the bill for us, when the check came the discount was 3 dollars off. The manager clearly didn't not care about the quality of food that the restaurant was serving to it's customers. Really sad that this place let us down tonite, it has always been one of our go to's but I'm not sure it will be anymore. read more

If i could give this place no stars i would. This place is a joke we had a party of 5 waited 15 minutes got our drinks and placed our order, we ordered one hot plate and that was served before any of our sushi rolls, we waited patiently. We saw two large parties being seated after we came in, 30 minutes passed and still no food for everyone else except for the hot plate. Other 2 parties got served before us sushi roll, after sushi roll. We at this point are wondering what is going on? We asked the @!$% manager and says ill check, comes back says they are working on it. We still wait another 10 minutes and still no food. We noticed the other tables are getting served more sushi. We then flagged the waitress and we are asked her what is going on? She seems oblivious of what is going on, waitresses never asked if we wanted refills after waiting with empty cups. We asking waitress where is our food and she tried arguing that she was not the one cooking the food, so therfore it was not her fault. Then the piece of @!& manager comes over and tells us " Dont to speak to my employees like that", while telling us again that our sushi roll was being worked on 1 hour later really!!!! He then asked us to leave. No wonder this place has gone out of business 3 times!!!! Manager needs to organize and prioritize orders. Obviously something he is unable to do. I hate to be the one to complain- but this place has the worst customer service. I feel like they've taken on more than they can handle. My dinner entree comes out before my appetizer, and I've seen it happen to more parties than 1. You're lucky if you see your server after they have taken your order. My daughter wanted ice cream, but how long we waited just to get our drinks, I told her desert would be faster at McDonald's. read more

I wanted to try something new and my boyfriend told me about San Chome. I was tired from work but glad I came. The food was delicious! Their garlic mashed potatoes are to die for and rib eye was also delicious. My boyfriend had the yakisaba noodles with chicken and shrimp fried rice that he really enjoyed. Arly was so sweet and attentive and I really enjoyed her service. The manager was also very friendly. We left happy and will be returning in the future. read more

I never ever leave reviews on yell because I'm in the food industry myself. But I came to San chome with a group of friends. The waitress , Malena, was absolutely RUDE from the very start. And when I say rude I mean rude. When we fit our sushi rolls the rice and crunch on the crunch roll was stale and old. So I kindly asked for it to be remade with new rice and no crunchy and she argued me and said that she can't do that and if anything we can get a new roll and pay for BOTH. then I spoke with the other waitress and she had it made perfectly with fresh ingredients. Not to mention when Malena took the roll from us she went and spoke in Spanish to the people who make the rolls, thinking I don't speak Spanish fluently, and started talking bad about us to right in front of us. She was rude and a HORRIBLE waitress. Ruined my appetite and the experience overall. She is a horrible waitress so make sure if you go to ask for anyone but her. read more

Asian cuisine, steaks, hamburgers and seafood all found in one location - San Chome is a wonderful and tasty gem located in the valley that is the perfect spot for lunch or dinner! The food is prepared when you order it, so expect to wait but it's worthwhile. The food portions are huge and flavorful, and the service is outstanding. I've eaten here several times since the restaurant has opened - both lunch and dinner - and will continue to patronize this local business. read more

Giiirl, lemme start by saying y'all really lying in the reviews. Not gonna lie I deadass had high expectations considering the reviews. I got the garlic lemon Cajun seafood and tbh it was not the best. Other than garlic I didn't really taste much of the other favors. They also didn't give us lemons, salt or pepper which most Cajun restaurants give. I could tell it wasn't made with love, BIG sad. However, I would like to try it one more time with their more spicier version of the Cajun seasoning to see how it compares. Overall not great but willing to give it another shot. read more

Wow surprised at the variety of the menu! My boyfriend got the seafood boil and I got the San Jacinto roll and seaweed salad. I was apprehensive about a restaurant with such a variety and how the food was going to taste but my roll was actually really good and my boyfriend LOVED the seafood boil! So if you were not aware there is a new restaurant in town. San Chome. We went on their 2nd night open. It is at the old Hungry Bear location. It was New Year's eve. They have carried over the Hungry Bear staff and David was our waiter. He is very helpful. The menu has Asian Fusion food, Ribs, Steak and Seafood, and Seafood Boil (Cajun style). It was a slow night. David offered us a $10 New Year's eve bottle of champagne. My husband ordered the New York steak and lobster and I ordered a poke salad (they did not have the Ahi Tuna which was on menu) but Salmon. I also had the Sizzling beef bulgogi plattet. I was asked at the end of the evening what they could have changed and do not even think they know why they served a Poke salad with Iceberg lettuce. It was OK but I think they will change that to a Spring mix for the greens. We were looking for a aesthetic new and comfortable dining experience. The place was utilizing some of the old Hungry Bear decor.. Bears, sports decor and plastic Coca Cola water cups so not sure what type of dining appeal the restaurant is trying to portray with the different items on the menu, Steak, loster, seafood, ribs (higher pricing) and Asian. All and all we will go back and would love to try the Seafood Boil with Crab Legs etc.. The manager and head chef asked how we enjoyed our dining experience and we had a positive discussion as we left. WE spent over $70 for the 2 of us. read more

I feel bad for the wait staff that are struggling to keep up, and are suffering being severely understaffed. I writing this as I sit in the restaurant, shivering under a freezing vent, and have seen my waitress 3 times in the almost 2 hours I've been seated. The crazy boy roll was doughy, our food came in 30 min intervals so everyone couldn't eat together, I was offered a refill for lemonade and it took 40 minutes to come back. Took mom here for her birthday and she didn't enjoy the service and was very disappointed. The minute we got one word out the waitress was running off before we could finish requesting everything we needed, we said two out of four of our appetizers and she ran off before we got them all out? Who I presumed was the manager was seemingly upset that I wanted stuff that I hadn't eaten or even RECEIVED AT THE TABLE comped. He did it, then chased me down into the parking lot to ask if I'd eaten something and to pester me because I forgot to sign the receipt. He seemed aggravated as he did so. Very uncomfortable atmosphere, poor service, undercooked food, and people left to sit and wait for their food while others at the table ate. My brother received his rice for his teriyaki beef 30 min before his actual food came out so he didn't even eat the cold rice. read more

Went on our adult kids' recommendation. We'd enjoyed going there when it was Hungry Bear as we are beef enthusiasts, haha. When we arrived on Thursday evening the parking lot was full!! I recognized many of the same wait staff as when it was Hungry Bear, and they were just as attentive and friendly as always. The good news is, the same delicious beef choices are still on the menu. Even better news is the addition of a great variety of tasty asian fare. That's a win-win in my book, especially because everything we ordered was delicious: prime rib plate, beef bulgogi, pork bulgogi, tempura. We shared tastings from each other's plates because everything looked and smelled yummy. The salads that came with the prime rib dinner(could have had a delicious sounding soup instead, but I'm counting carbs) was large and fresh. One of our group is Asian and she gave thumbs up for the asian food, as did we all. Definitely recommend. read more

Not as advertised. Came in before the dinner rush. Was seated and only received one menu when two people were seated. They have a limited wine menu for a recently opened restaurant. Ordered orange chicken. See previous complaint it matches exactly. There were no real oranges with the chicken only an orange sauce and it came lukewarm in temperature. Portions are large but the quality of the food is disappointing. Presentation is good as well. Next item I ordered was the beef Bulgogi. Again a very large portion of the Bulgogi however not enough vegetables on the bottom. Entrée came out before the appetizer. Ordered appetizer well before entrée was ordered. Staff seems hurried. Even asked manager for information about the restaurant and he was sweating and in a rush. Mentioned the history of this establishment to the manager that they were the six owners of the building. He said yes he had heard such information and was hoping that they would make it. That is not a very confidence-building statement. I can think of more but this should do it. This will not be one of my revisited establishments. No prices on the wine list. And mark up price is excessive. read more
