    Plenty of parking

Convenient parking, consistent security, the offices aren't open on the weekends; we've been there many tines on the weekends and no counter help. We buy our tickets online through the app, very good. This station is clean and easy to get to with plenty of parking. Amtrak, Coaster schedules

Perfect day to take the train to LA from Oceanside. We left early so the train was not crowded. The art is beautiful as you walk up to the station. The trip took about 2 1/2 hrs. One way. I suggest bring something to drink and a snack, especially if traveling with kids. The trip back was a little more crowded but we still found seats. I recommend.

Used Metrolink the other day to travel from Oceanside to Buena Park and found the whole experience very easy and positive. I was able to relax in a comfortable seat, read my book, and didn't have a endure a congested 5 freeway. It only cost $14, so it was well worth the price. If you sit on the left side of the train as you go north bound, you'll be treated so some nice views of the Pacific.

    Finally here

Train Schedule from Oceanside to San Bernardino posted on the photos below. Oceanside Metrolink Train Station is only about 0.6 miles and 13 minute walk to the beach.

If you want a chill ride to the beach! Just take the train here! Really recommend! Bring a bike or not! Bring a friend or not! Either way you're gonna have so much fun without all the stress of getting there! :m

This station is outside and can be sketchy so be careful! Easy to commute to San Diego from here or go up north so it's convenient.

Oceanside Transit Center is huge, so getting off Metrolink, I was trying to figure things out, the layout, how to get to downtown, etc. It's a passage underneath that takes you on the other side so you can reach downtown fast. The stop is in parallel with the ocean so you get to have a scenic view from the train. If you take any trains from this station, it's a good idea to come ahead of time to orientate yourself since this is a major hub: Greyhound, Metrolink, Amtrak, Coaster, Sprinter, etc. There's a big parking lot. I found the machine to get tickets to Metrolink fast, no issue getting my weekend pass (a great idea, $10/person). The, checked my train on a display to see the platform, took the underground passage to Platform 2 for LA. There are no announcements so check that display! The train came earlier, so that was great to wait less outside in the cold, on the platform. It's the end of the line so the train stayed here for a while, otherwise it leaves the station fast, within a minute. So, do your homework, prepare, be ahead of time and you'll be fine! Safe travels!

THE WORST!!!! I got my tickets online and just before arriving to the station I activated them upon arrival many people were waiting for the train after waiting 20 minutes we were notified no trains would be running that day I had paid for 3 tickets and spoke to a customer service representative that said I would need to put in a request online. I put in my request that same day and just got an email response today a month later saying they will not refund me my money. This is the worst service ever. Definitely will not ride this train EVER.

$10 for a weekend day trip to the Southland? Inconceivable! (Yes, I know what that word means...) And yet, that's the cost of a Metrolink ticket from Oceanside to Fullerton, ultimately ending at Union Station in Los Angeles. Sometimes, when I want to save some wear and tear on my car visiting my girlfriend up north for the day, I'll take the Metrolink up. The Oceanside station is a transportation hub, with stations for Greyhound and Amtrak, ticket kiosks for the Metrolink, Coaster, and Sprinter, and cab services waiting curbside. Granted, the station isn't too clean, the Burger King on premises is overpriced (go for the snack machines, they're cheaper), and the line to get your Metrolink ticket gets long - especially as the train leaves on time, so get there early! - but at least there's ample parking, and once you get your ticket, and get on the train, prepare yourself for a smooth trip. No dealing with traffic, a pretty quiet ride, and I can read my Kindle Fire HD during the trip up? Cool!

I have lived here many years but only taken the Coaster a handful of times…read more I was going down to Petco park for a Padres game and decided to give it a try. It is about an hour from Oceanside to the San Diego Santa Fe depot (about 20 minutes more than driving by car at 1030 am). There was an option for a day pass for $15 to take the Coaster down and back, but also to be able to use the Trolley as well. That was a good deal. Avoid a ticket and tap your Pronto card everytime you get on to a train or trolley. You get down to the Santa Fe Depot and you walk over to the trolley line and take the green or blue, green has less stops and it only takes like 10-14 minutes. The conductors do come by to check your tickets, so just make sure you tap your Pronto card everytime you get on to a train or trolley. I was able to leave the game with 2 outs to go and run to the trolley which was running late, and at about 407 got us over to the Santa Fe depot at 418 and we had to run to the Coaster that was leaving at 420 but we made it, even when I stopped to tap my pronto card. Enjoy the photos.

Although, I had ridden it 2 days previously, and the Wi-Fi was out then also, on my next ride, I asked the conductor and he acted as if he wasn't aware of that and would report it. Also, at least 1/2 the bathrooms were out of order. That's a problem. I hope that's not a sign of deterioration.

This Sunday when we returned to Oceanside upon Entering our vehicle I received a notification that my wallet was left behind. I immediately ran back to the Coaster and could see my wallet on the seat where it had fallen out of my pocket. However all the doors were closed, I noticed an employee walking towards the front of the train and ran towards him while repeatedly calling for him only to be ignored. I reached him as he was climbing up to where the driver was also sitting and asked him if he could please open the door so I could quickly hop on and grab it. He said NO we're going home You'll have to contact lost and found. That's policy he said.. Long story short, my wallet had an AirTag in it so I tracked it all night where it sat in the train yard, and went to bed at 11 PM. Woke up the next morning and my wallet was an hour and a half away near Hemet. Call the Hemet sheriff department and they went to the location and talked to the resident who said he was a manager for the train and he accidentally picked up my wallet and put it in his pocket. I wonder if that is policy needless to say it was empty and two days later all my cards & ID were returned to me by a sergeant from Camp Pendleton, who found them scattered along the road, leaving the train yard. So be careful not to leave anything behind on the train, especially your wallet because they're employees and management are thieves and very dishonest.

The coasters are always clean. There's never been a foul odor. Even the people traveling on it are polite. The staff onboard the coasters are always courteous and answer and all questions I might have. I've always been greeted with a smile and a hello. You can purchase a pass at the transit center OR download the Pronto app and purchase them that way. The train is equipped with an upper and lower deck. Some seating have a table so you can do work or eat on. Do they run on time? Not 100% of the time. But a lot of that has to do with the fact that sometimes they need to wait for another train to pass by, weather conditions and some other factors that are out of their control. But you get to where you need to and safely. I highly recommend the coaster. Especially if you hate the 5 traffic! *Oceanside Transit Center: The public bathroom is atrocious!!!*

The Business class seat was amply sized and had a good amount of leg room. There were also easy to access electrical outlets next to my window seat. Lots of cool ocean and town views from the right side of the train! The included snack amenities included OJ, bottled water, coffee/tea & danishes. While the conductor indicated that snack boxes would be delivered at noon, no such boxes ever made an appearance. The bathroom was okay, but nothing spectacular. The complimentary sodas and simple snacks weren't anything fancy, but definitely a nice little bonus on a longer ride. We traveled up the coast and while the seats going up weren't quite as nice as the ones on the way back, the overall experience was still so good. Way more relaxing than flying--comfortable seats, no airport chaos, and actual room to breathe. My little one was completely obsessed with the window views--watching the waves roll in and the beaches pass by was such a highlight.
