    Very nice pool!!
    Sue F.

This is a great RV park. This RV Park isn't the cheapest by far, but its location and property value, I get it. We've been going here for 4 years... it has improved greatly over the last 2.5 years (thereabouts). No more trashy sketchy looking RV'S or folks. I get it though, price of Property they had to step it up, and they did! Accommodated our 41', 5th Wheel, pull through, easy in and out! Picnic table, no fire pit though. Good security! Every employee is just the best, friendly, helpful, I never have to worry. We've made good "friends " here. Pool / Hot tub are great areas, clean... it's too bad some folks just don't/won't follow rules! No glass or food, peeps! Restrooms, laundry areas are exemplary! Game room is large, we don't use, but it's nice. We have checked out one across the street (down the street a block). I can't figure out why folks stay there. Either place is NOT on the beach, you still have to walk or drive. Anyway, it's pricey, but if you want to be close to the Beach, it's the place to go.... The ONLY complaint, (I'm not sure what they can do), but the dog park is just smelly, it looks clean and sanitized, but I can't handle the odor! I noticed most folks don't use it..... maybe they can look into ground products (??) Just wanted to mention train noise, the other R V Park is right on the tracks too.... I just use my sleep sounds to muffle it.... And as for the Cemetery, (up hill next door) it is a Historical site (or should be), all interred have been so mostly before the 1920''s , PLUS you can't see it! It's a non-issue! We have loved every stay here!

    Flagging for entrance

This park is like all of the ones in the beach cities. They are just wide enough for the rig and a picnic table. However, this park has a fence partway between the sites. Most of the sites are concrete Pull-Thru spots. The campground is situated right on Pacific Coast Hwy and is near to everything, except a sandy beach. You can access a beach with just a short drive. The park has a nice but small pool and Jacuzzi. The staff maintains the park in a very clean condition. The Sprinter light rail train goes by frequently and blows their horn but it doesn't bother me. This is our second stay and we will definitely be returning. You can get packages delivered by UPS.

Construction workers couldn't wait until 11am check out.

Our check out was 11pm. Construction workers couldn't wait until we leave. I don't know why camp site host allowed it. Plus I couldn't use the electricity that we paid for. The place is clean and nice and all, but just scares me that it's next to the cemetery. Plus, the train/ tram blowing horn every 15 minutes is so annoying. It is supposed to be a relaxing week

So much fun at, in and poolside

It smelled like a Greatfull Dead concert 24 / 7 from all the 60's generation pot smokers and 2. Alot of the parents were too busy drinking instead of watching their kids and keeping them from running into people at night on their bikes and did I also mention mom's taking their son's into the women's restroom who are clearly old enough to use the men's restroom on their own? It was just weird and super uncomfortable. But this rv park is centrally located to everything and within walking distance to everything. We didn't find the train to be a problem and I loved the fact that they have security since the homeless population around the outside of the park usually shows up during the day and at night. The restrooms and showers are clean and the staff is fantastic about returning calls. They do allow fur babies as long as they behave themselves but check for breed restrictions. I highly recommend making reservations way in advance.

In 1962, Sandy Shores Trailer Park was purchased by Oceanside native Harold Carpenter, who owned and operated the nearby Carpenters Towing and Auto Salvage business. After several years of construction, the Oceanside Harbor opened in 1963, adding another attraction along with a spectacular view for travelers staying in the park. By the late 1960s the Harbor View Trailer Coach Villa across the street closed down and the number of spaces in Sandy Shores was reduced to make way for bigger and more luxurious travel trailers. When we arrived at the Ranger station, I was told we weren't on the list for Saturday night. Instead, my name was marked as a no-show for the previous night. I showed my reservation confirmation, but the Ranger explained the tents were run by a third party and gave me the owner's number. My calls went to voicemail. Hipcamp's customer service didn't respond. Eventually, Andy--the owner--called back. Turns out, Andy had double-booked our tents and claimed the other guests were already settled in--even though we arrived before check-in. He had no backup accommodations to offer. I was stunned. We had packed cars with food, clothes, firewood, and supplies. This trip had been planned for six months. I had to call two other moms mid-drive and tell them to turn around. We scrambled to find two hotel rooms so the girls could still have a mini reunion, but it was more expensive and nowhere near the experience we'd envisioned. To top it off, Andy asked me, "Haven't you ever made a mistake?" That's not how you handle a business error that disrupts five families' plans. This wasn't a simple mistake--it was a complete failure in communication, accountability, and customer service. Think twice before booking with The Holidays.

There's a dog park, a dog washing station, a laundry room, showers, a pool, picnic areas and hook ups for water, electricity and sewage. I felt at ease. I couldn't wait to come back... Unfortunately things changed and broke my heart. My suv was experiencing power steering issues so security was kind enough to allow my partner and I to gather up some items at auto zone and work on our car in an empty area of the Pala parking lot. As my partner was finishing up, I told him we may as well just pay for another night at the rv resort so we could use their showers because he was covered in sweat and car fluids. I walked over there and spoke to the nice young girl I had communicated with earlier and told her I'd like to reserve another night and I'm happy to pay (my stay was comp'd due to my player status at Pala Casino). Her reply was "I understand but unfortunately your RV is not allowed to be at our resort anymore. We cannot accept it. The photos you submitted were not the same as what we saw in person." See, I had to get my RV approved to even be allowed before I arrived because of the year (1998). I sent in good pictures of course with great angles... I want the vehicle to look as nice as possible. It was the motorhome version of "you can't sit with us" from mean girls. I was stunned. I'm still stunned. We fit in with every other person there at the resort. I'm sorry our motor home wasn't 6 figures. But it's not an eye sore by any means. It's just not a crazy luxury one like the others that surrounded us. I mean, one of the neighbors admitted his vehicle was $400k+ and invited us to come in and look around. It looked like the Taj Mahal without exaggeration. I know my face fell and I simply replied "...oh..". The girl then goes "I see your stay was a casino comp, can't you go to the hotel?" I was mortified. I just said "yeah... I guess." And I walked away. And I cried. Apparently because my RV isn't brand new and expensive, I am undeserving of a nice, comfortable place that feels like a second home to visit with my loved ones and our humble motorhome. Weeks pass and after my partner spoke to the manager, she let him know that two things needed to be fixed on our Class A: the awnings and the apparent unsightly what appeared to be small areas of "rust" towards the top of the RV. We went ahead and removed those issues. I proceeded to attempt to book a few nights there and I received a response stating that although they appreciate us fixing the cosmetic issues, now apparently we are told from our last visit, either the RV or my Mercedes SUV left a, once again, unsightly oil or liquid substance behind on the pad where we were parked. And I quote, "To stay at the Pala RV Resort, all vehicles must be well maintained and in good running condition. Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate a stay at this time". Honestly, I don't know why I continue to become shocked by the types of responses I receive from this place. I don't know what kind of training they're given but the elitest vibe and the "you guys aren't good enough" attitude shot back at adults who are just trying to find a comfortable, safe and pleasant area to reside for a few days in our motor home along with our sweet dogs is just so unnecessarily rude, cruel and demeaning. Is the upscale reputation being upheld far more important than respect, kindness and a helpful, welcoming vantage point? In conclusion, as long as your trailer or motor vehicle is pristine, less than 20 years old and you are upper middle, upper class or better yet, a one percenter, this place is PERFECT for you, all your needs will be met, respect will be given to the utmost degree. If you are anything less than that, go find yourself a spot in a Walmart parking lot or the bureau of land management because you won't have a place for yourself here... well, you may get a "pass" for a stay but then you'll be reminded how unworthy you are to be in "such a high standard establishment." Above offended and angry, I'm hurt, upset and appalled by the way this has been handled. Thinking of these interactions actually gives me a great discomfort in my stomach and it's a shame.

We stayed in an older more developed part of the campground and it was semi ok. Sites were tight but clean. Had all the hookups and a fire pit. But it was loud. Neighbors across from us in the center portion of the section were obnoxiously loud. We could hear their conversations clearly because they were yelling across camp sites (they were a group traveling together.) And I'm all for fun, but show a little courtesy. It was stronger than movie studio lights and they had it raised high on a pole so it shown down on the entire area. It's the first time I almost went to another camp site and told someone off. Our site was at the base of a hill and you could see our shadows against the hill the light was so bright. I had to move our car to block the light. I ended up not going over to their site and they finally turned it off. Unreal. Then the music from the restraint area was blaring until 10p. Electric bikes and golf carts were everywhere as well. It's a huge campground so I get people need them but they're a little dangerous in the evening. The bathroom stalls were flooded and the showers had holes in the walls and were very run down.
