I was given a quote for the replacement of the motherboard and installation, along with an alternative option for repair. Needless to say, I picked up my laptop since I wasn't ready to move forward, and offered to tip but they wouldn't take any money. I had two separate issues with my desktop and laptop and scheduled an appointment for remote diagnosis. No one called and after 20 minutes waiting I called back. They connected me to a technician, which I then find out is not from their company, but outsourced to another company called "Tech 2 U". This guy was named Dmitri, who was a dunce and unqualified. I had two issues. (1) Google Chrome changed my PC desktop shortcut format to a smart phone "swipe" format. He said my Chrome was not up to date. I said that Chrome updates automatically and proved it. He then recommended remove and reinstall Chrome. Did not fix the problem, but a later update by Chrome (automatic by the way) fixed this bug on its own. (2) Issue with Microsoft Outlook. He started off by saying Outlook is garbage and I should change programs. He should keep his opinion to himself and help solve the issue. He recommended remove and reinstall. I said OK because I did not want to lose anything. The mail files transferred OK. I did not notice till a couple of hours later that he did NOT transfer my address book. Years' worth of contacts are gone. I was able to reconstruct most of the email addresses from old mail, but home addresses and phones are gone. I will NOT recommend your firm to anyone. read more

The latest Windows Fall Creators update really created a headache for me. Error messages suddenly popped up on my desktop, and then worst of all, my screen resolution was stretched, distorting all the images, with no easy fix. I spent several hours online reading and fooling with drivers to no avail, till I called in the professionals. Alex, Kyle, and Sam all spent time with me, explaining my problems and describing the options available. I finally decided on a new Nvidia video card with a stand-alone driver, so I'd have a permanent fix for this particular problem. I also asked them to help me find a good program for my external hard drive, which had been sitting gathering dust in a cupboard. These guys at SDCH are smart, knowledgeable, and friendly. They very patiently explained to me each aspect of my problem and of their solutions. The cost of their service was very reasonable. I ended up getting a tuneup (first in 5 years) on my desktop, plus an easy backup program for my external hard drive, plus the graphics card . These guys performed excellent work and were willing to help out with my schedule. I called ahead, then came in about an hour after, both times speaking with Graham. I needed help replacing a hard drive with a SSD (solid state drive) on my late model 2011 macbook pro. Their prices were comparable with all their competition, within about $5-$10, however where they won my business was the service. Most places I called (including here) quoted me about a day for the work, which is completely reasonable. My issue was that as a grad student I had some deadlines to meet and really didn't want to spend the night/weekend in the library. Graham was able to help me out and get my computer back to me about 12 hours later on Saturday morning! Really helped not screw my whole weekend, up, and was not necessary on their part but was great customer service!! They've earned my business going forward, without a doubt. Although I found the computer technicians to be very nice, the problem which I contacted them for help with is still not fixed. What I thought was going to be an easy fix (connection problem with my wireless printer), turned into two separate visits by the technicians and $100.... and the problem remains. I appreciated that the technician did not charge me for the second visit, but I thought it was only fair considering the problem was not fixed. After the second visit I texted the repair technician again saying the problem was ongoing. He said he would look into it and I never heard anything from him after that. read more

I brought in 3 MacBooks, and an iPhone to get backed up to an external drive, reformatted, and all of the photos combined into one central iPhoto DB. The team truly went above and beyond at every touch point. Every person I interacted with - from my first phone call with Kyle - to my interactions with the team in store were all great. They're positive, enthusiastic and understanding. The project ended up taking a couple days longer than expected/quoted but it was due to factors beyond the team's control (my iPhone wouldn't connect/sync with any computer). I went back on the same day for a diagnostic of my laptop since it was stuck on a folder with a question mark on the screen. Absolutely stunning work and amazing customer service. This is some of the best customer service I've had from any type of business in a long time. Here's the story: My nine-year-old computer has seen better days. A Gateway desktop PC, it had been through a lot with me and contained some very important work product over those many years. However, it has started going so slowly that it was exasperating to use. Also, the fan ran constantly because the computer was so overworked with all of the junk I had managed to collect that the fan would run constantly and drive me insane. I finally just kept the computer shut off and used my laptop. But I need it! Enter this amazing service. First they did a remote free consultation - - that's right, I gave them access on my computer and they were able to look at my computer hard drive remotely. No unplugging the computer and carrying it to their office. After the free consultation they told me that it was full of junk, which is what I suspected. They said that they would charge me $169 for a flat rate clean up of my computer, again remotely so I didn't have to take the computer to them, and at the end of that time if I did need to take the computer in for any hardware work, because my problem had not been resolved, that $169 would go toward any hardware work that needed to be done. I thought this was a great deal for a couple of reasons: it might actually fix the problem for $169; but if it didn't, and if it even turned out that I needed to get a new computer, all of the junk would've been removed from this computer, making it easier to transfer the data to a new computer. So I said yes! Neither of us expected for it to take eight hours! My computer was full of crap. Full of malware! They also suggested a different antivirus program that does not have pop-ups. What's that? An antivirus program that doesn't have pop-ups? Yes please. That cost $59 and I was happy to pay it. By the end of the day they called to tell me they had finished and that there was a 30 day guarantee so I could call them if there was any problems. I went on my computer and literally it is like having a brand new computer. I cannot believe it. And the fan is not running anymore! Thank you thank you thank you! read more
