First, I came to San Diego Cell Phone Repair since they emailed me back first, telling me they could fix my iPhone 6s Plus rear camera for $50. I went to their "office" and it was disappointment from start to finish. I walked into a room with 2 guys, a desk, and pure awkwardness. I told him that I was the one who inquired about the new iPhone camera on yelp. He looked through his messy desk and determined he couldn't find my part and I would have to wait til Monday. So I left. Just downstairs in the same building, was San Diego Jailbreak. I went into a nicer "office" where the owner, Jeff, was very polite and helpful. He quoted me the same price as his competitor, but he actually had the iPhone part I needed. What's cool about Jeff's business is that he has a waiting room, so you don't have to deal with the awkwardness of watching someone fix your phone. Part of the time I was waiting, I sat near his desk to watch some college football on TV and he was even social enough to have some good conversation while he worked. He was able to replace my iPhone camera within 15 minutes and it was as painless as it could possibly be. He did it quick at a fair price of $50. I guess the only thing the other guys had a leg up on, was that they offered me a 6 month warranty on the new camera and San Diego Jailbreak only offered 60 days. So, my piece of mind is a little questionable. Despite that, Jeff seems like the type of guy who would take care of his customers. After putting off getting my daughters iphone 6's cracked screen repaired for a few months-- I finally caved when the concern that her fingers would be sliced to ribbons by her continued use of the iphone trumped the need to instill the value of earning what you receive. With most other repair shops being closed (or about to) by the time I got off work, it was a big relief to know that even after getting off at 5 pm, surviving the typical Mission Valley traffic combined with a freak monsoon that by this time had been the cause of many roadway floods and the need for water rescues--there was STILL a chance of getting the repair done in one stop--because San Diego Jailbreak is open until 7 pm. Aaah, it's the little blessings that count. I get to the office, meet Jeff, explain that I need the screen repaired, and hand him the iphone. He eyeballs the iphone and we agree to the cost of $90 (give or take, I was kind of in a rush and paid via card). After watching Jeff work on the screen in a competent, almost effortless way--he goes over his repair and what he's replaced, and was able to pull spare pieces that he already had to replace ones in my iphone that were damaged when the phone hit the floor. He apologized for having taken longer than he normally does, but getting the job done right in under an hour is something that I personally consider a victory. I'd definitely recommend San Diego Jailbreak for those needing a remedy without the hassle of price haggling and worry that it was done right. Jeff is simply MAGNIFICENT! So I actually found him on here and I called him one night because I had bought an iPhone off of craigslist and I needed it unlocked... I was just expecting to get a quote & perhaps an appointment. I found Jeff because I happened to be seeing a doc whose office is in the same building. I would sit on his waiting couch for my appointment, and chat it up. Then one day I dropped my poor iPad on a concrete parking lot in Minnesota, so it was not only cracked but also covered in snow. I dropped it off with Jeff on a Tuesday night, and picked it up from him the next day. I don't know the first thing about cost or quality - all I know is that it's 100% better than it was before, and in lightning speed time. He is up front about cost and time, which are the two most important things I would think for this kind of repair. Jeff is a lifesaver! My uncle needed to have his iPhone 4s jail-broken because he does a lot of business in Mexico and therefore needs two wireless carriers. I advised him to let Jeff take a look at it. He had lunch plans nearby so he went in to drop it off and by the time he was done with lunch his phone was ready to be picked up. Last week my computer was acting up. I must've downloaded some bug and it messed with my internet. I am not computer savy by any means but depend on my laptop for my work and schooling. I've been having trouble with the Wifi on my Dell laptop for a WHILE now and every person I had shown it to was either clueless or lazy about fixing it! First of all, this place is a little confusing to find at first. When you finally arrive at the address, just know you are on "plaza" level. Get into the elevator and press "1" for the first official floor. Suite 105 is near the patio/gazebo courtyard. I came here to get my iPhone 6s+ unlocked because I was getting ready to go to leave the country. He answered all my questions thoroughly and helped me understand between the 2 options of unlocking the device. Brought my AT&T iPhone 4 in for a factory unlock and Jeff was very helpful assisting through out the whole process. He charged me $60 for a factory unlock which was cheaper than any other places have quoted. The ETA on the getting the iPhone unlocked took about 5 days which is quite normal due to the servers being overloaded after the recent changes in unlocks internationally. After he gave me a courtesy call telling me my iPhone was cleared for unlock, he walked me through the process of how to finalize the last step through iTunes which was easy. Jeff was very knowledgeable and more that happy to answer any questions I threw his way; outstanding customer service! Location was a little hard to find due to google maps being confused with the address I punched in so I resorted to yelp for directions. This guy is a liar and a cheat do not take your phone to this guy I took my phone to him back in May 2 days later I had an issue I take it back to him he fixes it all is well for a few months later my phones not working again I called him to see if I can bring it in he tells me I'm running the old software I need to pay to get the new software upgrade not what I was told when I went into him actually brought two cell phones with me to get unlocked he told me when I originally went in If I ever had any issues not to worry come in and he would take care of it and upgrade software but now he's trying to charge me I already paid you for a service so I have to keep paying should be done correct the first time I shouldn't need to keep coming back to you for the same issue over and over go elsewhere read more

Was charged $100 to get my wife's phone unlocked. Originally we werent able to get on 4g networks and he said we needed a new SIM card. T Mobile tried multiple SIM cards with no success. I consulted other phone specialists who said the phone was not internationally unlocked. He has denied a refund or complete fix. Please avoid. read more
