I had my 225hp Yamaha outboard replaced with a 300hp Evinrude outboard. They were very thorough explaining each and every step of how they would install the Evinrude outboard and complete the testing required for a newly installed outboard. Sydney was great. He found the right used outboard engine for boat. Great service and timely. I did a bone head move and hooked the new battery i bought positive to negative, and negative to positive and fried a fuse. I didn't know where to look and Sydney worked me right in. One more bone head move, I forgot the key for the boat. He spent a half an hour finding a key for it. He replaced the fuse and when I asked how much he said no charge. I would say that San Diego Marine Performance is a hidden gem and off the road. The owner Sydney is great to work with and does great work on your engine. This place was awesome the price was amazing amd the work was excellent. Sydney is a really nice guy very knowledgeable I took an old bass tracker boat here with a two-stroke engine there . My dad and I came here and Sydney re-powered it with a awesome 4 stroke 50 horse power motor, soon after my dad and I and the kids all got back out on the water that's the best part. First off I wish I could give more then 5 stars. These guys are amazing! I bought my current boat a year and a half ago and the previous owners lied about the hours on the engine as the gauge wasn't set up to show hrs. I came to find out it had 7600 hrs on it! Insane. A friend of a friend recommended Sydney and I did my research and decided to give him the chance to Repower the boat. He had a 2012 Yamaha 300 with lower hours so I went that rout. The swap was done clean and properly with no screw in turned and the engine got a full service. It runs like an absolute raped ape! Rare this day and age to find standup guys that do a great job before during and after having work done. San Diego's best kept secret for marine repower and service - NEW (factory scratch & dent program) motors, lightly used motors, repairs, and service. The owner, Sydney, really cares about his customers' needs. He bent over backwards to get us not only what we asked for, but (more importantly) what we needed at a price we could not beat ANYWHERE. His attention to detail, and philosophy to make sure everything was right before letting us take our repowered boat home is something seldom seen anymore. He checks and services all of his used motors, and THEN has an independent dealer of each brand motor fully inspect them before he delivers to the client (after he does a sea trial....mandatory, in his book). He showed us 2 beautiful 200hp Mercury motors, serviced up and ready to mount, as well as some 20-70hp kicker motors we felt we needed as a backup.
