Cross Country Movers is actually located in the Los Angeles area. As a result they did not arrive…read moreat my San Diego condo until noontime and without the required floor covering which was clearly outlined in the condo's moving requirements which was emailed to the company. In addition the moving requirements clearly stated that movers were allowed the hours from 8 AM to 6 PM to accomplish the move. As a result the movers were unable to complete the packing and loading on the day of the move. They had to return the following day to complete the move. Fortunately I had the next day free but had to pay the condo HOA an additional $150 for the second day. So all of this is the bad news. The good news is that my household goods were transported from San Diego to Southport, NC on time and in excellent condition. This was the first move ( out of 7 previous moves ) where not one item was lost or broken. The packers were meticulous in packing everything including crystal glassware and china. It was a pleassure to work with these guys who were pleasant and respectful as well as very hard workers. My grandfather clock was packed in a wooden crate and arrived in perfect condition. I can highly recommend this moving company. The only caveat is that you should note that it will take time for them to get to San Diego and if you have a large amount of household goods it may take them 2 days to pack and load.

Not to mention, I had a lot of belongings stuffed in my trunk (of which I was feared would get stolen). Not to worry, I received all of my belongings and nothing was missing. I don't ever recommend packing valuables in your car if you ever do hire an auto transport company but I made the risk and packed gifts from my wedding in my trunk because I was moving across the country. Would I hire these guys again? Of course because I could trust them. The other car was a Scion TC being shipped back from VA to SD and the car made it back safely with no scratches or damage. We went with open car transporting instead of enclosed and it's a good choice to go with unless you drive a high-end luxury car. The owner, Joe is very responsive to messages on yelp and you can just message him to get updates on your car or ask any questions. Their prices are affordable and reasonable too. I researched around before hiring this company and most other companies either charge too much or are too sketchy.
