We literally went from the Embassy Suites by the Bay just a couple blocks away to Broadway Pier to catch a dinner cruise. The cost was $30 per person, costing us $60 for a 6 minute bike ride. More so, these bicycle drivers used to truly earn their pay with the energy they expended, nowadays they use e-bikes, requiring much less physical activity. I will say though, the driver was very friendly and easy to talk to. If we were not in a time crunch to get on on a boat, I would have checked with other private owned pedicabs or a taxi.

I had hip replacement surgery in April and knew the walk to Rady Shell was too far. I made a few calls, spoke with Pat and was able to arrange a drop off and pick up after the concert for a great price for my cousin and myself. He also had hip surgery about the same time as me, but he's on his game, he even tap dances in Little Italy on Saturdays at the Farmers Market. STRESS-FREE I have been using DayTripper Tours around 15…read moreyears for day trips from San Diego. (I have not been on any of their multi-day trips, although my mom has and has enjoyed them). They are an ideal stress-free way to see certain sights that you wouldn't necessarily see under your own steam. Trips I've participated in include visits to the Disney Concert Hall, Jeopardy live taping, America's Got Talent audition taping, Hollywood Bowl concert, Nasa's JPL, the Pasadena Rose Parade, John Wayne yacht tour and Camp Pendleton tour and museum. WELL ORGANIZED AND PROFESSIONAL Day Tripper Tours are always well organized with informative, friendly guides and professional bus drivers and clean, modern buses with foot rests. COMFORT STOPS They always incorporate a roughly 20-30 minute 'comfort' stop for the restroom and fast food options on the way there and back. There's a toilet on board the bus, but they really prefer you to use the restroom at the stops. They always hand out snacks and water on board. As with most tours, you're under their schedule, so sometimes things are slightly rushed, in other words, you don't get to linger on your own time. Pick-ups usually run on time, but sometimes traffic can delay things, which is out of their control. PICK-UP LOCATIONS We have used the pick-up locations in Rancho Bernardo, Carlsbad and La Jolla. I wish they picked-up at Rancho Bernardo more often as that's the most convenient for me. Most patrons are seniors, but I've been using them since my early 40s. It's fun to chat with your bus companions, especially if you're joining the tour solo. I have taken less tours in recent years as their prices have gone up to typically around the $150 mark, but when I do take them, I enjoy them. If you get their e-mails, watch for discounts when they're trying to fill a tour. Tips to the guide and driver are also suggested and envelopes are provided. You can either browse their printed catalog by mail or take a look at their tours on-line. One thing to note is there are no refunds if you cancel due to illness, etc., although they do offer trip insurance, but I've never purchased it. If they happen to cancel the tour, you get a refund. They also offer gift certificates, which makes a nice gift for someone that enjoys their tours. I recommend Day Tripper Tours for fun days out, either solo or with a friend.

I can't say enough good things about this company. In February, I took the MOST FUN trip to a taping of 3 shows for Wheel of Fortune = what a total BLAST! Soooo much fun from front to back; it was exhilarating (saw a MN guy win $90K in 2 hours!) Made me want to take ALL the game show trips! I signed up for the AGT auditions in Pasadena for 3/26 and was all set to go with hubby. We got an email maybe a week ago Friday that it all got cancelled, but we could switch to the other date for it, which was today. Bc of work situations, I could go, but hubby could not, so I replied such to the email, and it was all arranged WITHOUT ME EVEN HAVING TO CALL THE OFFICE, and the full refund for hubby was instantly given. So hassle free, wow! Today I left home 1.5 hrs before my bus pickup time...but due to traffic, GPS kept ADDING 5-minute chunks onto my trip, and by the Temecula traffic bog, I could see I'd be at least 25 min late = not acceptable! So I rang the 800# CXL line, since I had taken the $15 CXL fee option. I explained my situation to Corbett, who said he'd let the bus driver know, so they wouldn't have to wait, but he didn't know/wasn't sure about my cancellation refund. However, by the time I got home, the full refund was already processed and they sent an email, so again , I didn't even NEED to call the office: it was all just handled. Wow! Even though I was VERY VERY disappointed to miss this day I'd been dreaming about...I trust that I'll get another chance, when it's meant to be. In the meantime, I've got my eye on a few other trips, which I'll happily sign up for without a moment's hesitation. VERY impressive customer service!!! Do beware you have to wait in the sun if it's a hot day. Boarding was easy and fast, and the bar was open as soon as we stepped on. The bartender was enthusiastic and helpful, and they had a great selection of drinks. Prices were pretty typical to a bar in San Diego. They have a musician, who was great, and he started right as the boat headed out. The boat itself has covered and not covered spaces, and you can move around as you want. I was pleasantly surprised that the bathrooms were nice, and you didn't have to climb any stairs to use them. All their staff were welcoming and helpful. They were offering to take photos with your phones if you wanted and collected cups as you were finished, so you didn't have to get up if you didn't want to. We sailed around the bay, under the Coronado Bridge, and back. There weren't any points where we stopped and people got in the water. We just cruised along, which was perfect for the day. I would highly suggest taking a Triton trip. We had a great time, and as locals, we will definitely go again another time. Thanks for a fun day!

I was prepared to book a 25 passenger limo bus for 10 kids. Eric suggested the limo sprinter. I went ahead and booked the sprinter hoping that it would meet my expectations. I am so glad I did. Not only did I save money, but the bus would have been too big for just 10 guests. The sprinter was the perfect size with plenty of room. It looked exactly as the limo bus, just in sprinter form. The driver was very professional and courteous. I followed behind the sprinter but had to park far away from the venue due to the limited parking downtown. The driver offered to pick me up from where I had to park and take me to the venue. He went above and beyond.I would definitely recommend this company and will gladly use them in the future.

This continued on the actual trip. They had lots of interesting information to share, had an eye on all the details and overall they made us feel safe and comfortable so that we could enjoy the tour. I especially liked how they picked 3 wineries that were quite different but all had something nice to offer. The wine tour was very interesting and I really enjoyed the wine, but for me it was also a lot more than that. We got a very nice introduction to Mexico and saw some of the beauty that it has to offer. A perfect combination of a great wine tour, beautiful scenery and a cultural experience. We recently took a full-day tour run by Ark Voyage & Tours based out of San Diego…read more The drive to Guadalupe Valley was uneventful (which is the best kind of trip to take). Once there, we visited a number of wineries, all of whom are producing some very decent red wines and even a few good whites. Our guide, Kurt, started at Vinas Pijoan where we sampled some excellent and usual red blends as well as a sweet dessert wine called "Manel" that wowed us with its raisin-y, chocolate-y goodness. We moved on to Hacienda La Lomita where a truly gifted winemaker showed what he could do with chardonnay, syrah and old-vine grenache grapes. There's no denying that he had talent and some very luscious fruit. That was followed by a jaw-dropping scenic Las Nubes lunch (and wine tasting). We also visited Quinta Monasterio, Trevista, Torres Alegre and LA Cetto for some short visits/tastings. Torres Alegre offered some remarkable aged wines at reasonable prices - a 9-year old Cabernet Franc/Merlot blend was selling for $45 and left whoever sipped it walking on clouds. LA Cetto produces value wines that can compete with many California wineries -- its Terra red blend cost $14 and could easily play in the California wine game. Kurt was well-versed in wines from around the world and specialized in his insights into Baja wineries. What we discovered was that the wines being produced in Baja are now easily as good, if not better than those being crafted in Temecula and came surprisingly close to Paso Robles quality. But what Baja uniquely offers is the experience of tasting wines in an entirely different cultural setting. The vast majority of visitors to Guadalupe Valley are Mexican, along with some Europeans and Asians. As close as it is to San Diego, relatively few San Diegans make the short trip to this wino otherworld. There are a lot of reasons, including concerns about safety, US restrictions on importing liquor from Mexico, language barriers along with an entirely different currency. While these concerns may have had some validity in the past, most are no longer issues. The merchants in the Valley all speak English, use U.S. currency along with all credit cards and the region is as safe as most places in San Diego County. Moreover, the roads are well-maintained and marked. Yes, it is a different country with different rules and customs. But that is what makes the trip there so exciting and, well, different. Ya gotta check this out. It is a great outing and Kurt made it effortless.
