My dogs are my life, so when I woke up early to find my precious Marky Mark stuck on the stairs, unable to go up or down and shaking with pain and fear, I started to panic. I am 66 and petite. Where do we begin? We have a 5 year old French Bulldog named Queenie and since both Steven and I were both out of town when all this craziness occurred and honestly Bruce was one of the many heroes that week. If I can remember this was on a Tuesday in June. I had received a call from the Vet's office saying that the daycare place brought her over because Queenie wasn't feeling good. They had ran test but could not find anything. They also performed an X-ray in which they thought perhaps she could have an obstruction but to be sure she needed to be taken to the Animal Emergency Hospital for an Ultrasound. They drove her out of town to the Emergency Hospital for ultrasound in which they could not find anything. Finally the attending Physician at night called me at 4:30am and stated that she believed that she may have a herniated disc. She said that Queenie would need a Neurologist asap to perform an MRI and possibly surgery. I immediately began looking for flights to come back to the states. She called back at 10am and said she had reached out to a specialty hospital with a neurologist and they would take her. But again; this Hospital was 1 1/2 hours away. We told her we didn't have anyone that could travel to where they were and transport Queenie, she said that she knew of a service and just like that, Bruce called. We spoke on the phone. He had received the information from the Emergency Hospital the main thing is that he provided a price and we agreed, within minutes the transaction was complete and he was on his way to grab my baby girl. At this point I couldn't get a direct flight and I began to panic and started thinking about how scared she was. Out of the blue, I received a text with a picture of Queenie and Bruce. He stated he had her and they were enroute to the Specialty Hospital. Once he arrived he took another picture and said she is okay and they were waiting. I know that this seems weird, why would I take the time to write this whole story when I could just say he was good. It's a lot more. The reassurance of the pictures the communication was so needed. Queenie ended up having surgery for herniated disc's and is going through Physical Therapy and now at home. I have now received two follow up emails and a text from Bruce asking how is Queenie. It means so much to me and if this story isn't enough to get you to see how great his service is and how much his small tokens of communications and follows up means then I'm not sure what will. This is a Christmas MIRACLE! my family and I were staying in a lovely house in OB for the holiday and my sister brought our family pet as a surprise (to see her once more while I'm in town) but the place we were staying in did not allow pets. Much more than a pet taxi! I've been trying to get set up with a mobile veterinary service for my two very shy, elderly cats who simply loathe being taken to a vet. Somehow that turned into the mobile vet telling me my female cat will need specialized dental work that can't be done in a mobile clinic. On top of that, it turns out, she has a serious heart murmur, so she will also probably require assessment by a cardiologist before she can safely undergo anesthesia. In short, I can expect multiple trips to various locations to get all of that done. Oh, argh! I've just moved here and don't know my way around at all, and my health has gradually declined to the point I can't drive very far and I can't carry an empty pet carrier, let alone one containing my admittedly chubby cat. (She's on a diet. She's not speaking to me.) I was trying to find a local taxi service that allows pets ... and tripped across Bruce and his San Diego Pet Driver. The more I read about all of the things he does, the more interested I became. I've loved reading the reviews all over the web about the many different clients he's had and the jobs he's done for them. I checked him out thoroughly and then made appointments with the specialty hospital for my cat's first assessment, and with Bruce to be our designated driver. Bruce kept in touch in the days before the appointment, and sent pictures of himself and his van so I'd recognize him. He picked us up a little ahead of time (which I really appreciated, being the type to always arrive early myself), and brought a carrier he thought my cat might prefer. She was inside it before she knew what was happening or had time to object. Bruce drives well and clearly had planned the route ahead of time. Despite the hospital being in an area with lots of confusing little streets and road and sidewalk construction everywhere -- even the hospital driveway has been dug up and is hard to find in the mess -- we arrived a little ahead of the scheduled appointment. The hospital was behind schedule (not a surprise for a place like that), so we waited comfortably in the van, away from other pets that might have distressed my cat and away from their owners who might not see eye-to-eye about Covid precautions, until they were ready for us. This gave me time to get to know Bruce as a person, and as a professional. He is a lovely man, very calm and reassuring, organized and efficient, kind, wonderful sense of humor, very easy to talk to, and with a wealth of experience. He doesn't just drive -- he's a concierge who sees his job as doing everything he can to help his clients. And he clearly takes great pride in his work, and is constantly seeking ways to improve his equipment and techniques and to add to his capabilities and contacts who can offer additional kinds of assistance for any type of emergency. Once my cat and I were called in, the vet examined her very carefully, asked all sorts of questions and listened to my concerns, confirmed the heart murmur and what he thinks it may be due to, and took extra time to discuss possible treatment alternatives, diagnostic work that might be a good idea, and how best to involve a cardiologist without Cat and I having to travel long distances for separate appointments. Happily, despite finishing up more than an hour past the anticipated time, I didn't have to worry about getting home again -- Bruce was right there, waiting for me. It was when he told me about one client that I realized Bruce is the solution to a problem that keeps me awake nights. The continuing care retirement community where I live will take care of me in the event of an emergency, but I have no local friends or family who could help with my beloved cats. My lawyer has my Durable Power of Attorney and has the experience and contacts to arrange for my care, no matter what might develop, but cats? Not so much. The client who made me see the light had called Bruce at 2:00 in the morning, saying she'd been in a car accident and would have to stay in the hospital for a couple of weeks or more. He immediately went to the hospital to collect the keys to her home, went to her home to pick up her pet and the pet's food and medicines, and took them to his own home to care for the pet until he could find space at a good boarding facility. He kept her updated on everything he was doing, including daily pictures and videos of her pet to keep her reassured her furbaby was fine. (And I knew that was a true accounting, since I'd seen a review posted by that grateful client.) So when I finish posting this, I'm going to add Bruce to the list of emergency contacts for my CCRC and for the lawyer who has my Power of Attorney. read more

My story is: I needed to move my husband (who is a disabled vet with health problems) to San Diego for his health which is going down hill after the stress of an awful situation that happened to us on Maui. We lived in the Hawaiian Islands for many years and didn't plan to move back to the mainland. We had (probably too) many animals (4 cats/5 toy breed dogs). This move happened after a renter destroyed our rental property, illegally sublet it, exploiting the COVID moratorium on evictions and stole our rent money, which lead to a many month legal battle and renovation, which included a lot of physical labor for me (since my husband was too ill to do it). I blew my back out doing this reno. Bad. I'm not young, or healthy myself. I have a heart condition and high blood pressure, so this rogue renter and the subsequent reno literally put my life in jeopardy. But I persisted and survived this evil man. My determination and a lot of prayer got me to San Diego. But....to manage getting my pets (however small) through the airports and all that entails physically, mentally and emotionally both pre-boarding, boarding and post-boarding was really one of the hardest things I ever had to do. My back was in constant agony. Due to the pervasive drug abuse that exists in the Hawaiian Islands, the doctor I saw refused to give me even a small prescription for pain. I survived the airport by using a heating pad, when I could plug in, advil and DoTerra's Deep Blue rub. At times, I was gripped with spasms that forced me to stop/sit down until it passed. I had to leave for the airport 4 hours in advance because of the back pain to make sure I made my flight. The pain was horrendous. My 16 year old daughter (who weighs about 105 Lbs had to help me carry the animals. She's a dancer and has orthopedic problems now too. Hopefully, they will go a away in time, but I think my back will be an issue for a very long time to come. In short, we flew 3 roundtrip flights in 6 days, because I didn't feel comfortable leaving my disabled husband (who has a brain injury) alone in a new house for very long, as he is very dependent on me. So, to get off a plane, in agony, and find Bruce waiting for me in his grey van was like a miracle. I can't imagine what would have happened if I'd had to leave my teen late at night and the animals at the airport to go stand in the shuttle bus line, take a bus to the off site rental car place, stand again in line to rent a car, then drive back to my daughter to pick her and the animals up. I might have ended up at the E.R. with my back. But, by the Grace of God, I found Bruce, who gave me a reasonable price to transport us to our new home, was on time and a great communicator. When you are out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, communicating with a stranger who might be a scammer, you feel very afraid, but there's nothing else you can do. I needed help and Bruce provided it. He was an honest, hardworking human being who helped me at one of the worst times in my life. I don't know what I would have done without him. I made it here to San Diego, with my family. We are still in "recovery mode", but I wanted to take a few minutes and write this review to say thank you to Bruce and recommend him to anyone who needs animal transport in San Diego County. Bruce was AMAZING. The amount of love and attention he gave to my dog for the 1.5 weeks he had her was on another level compared to my previous experiences with kennels and dog sitters (not that they were bad or anything like that). My dog was a rescue from a puppy mill and requires special care, such as limited exposure to another dogs, medical issues, physical limitations and Bruce took that all in stride. He kept my dog with him at his home and I got adorable texts and pictures every single day. In my personal opinion, he went above and beyond in his care for my dog, which we both very much appreciated. Bruce is absolutely amazing! My cat went into diabetic ketoacidosis on Saturday morning and I had no way to get her to VCA. Our family dog, Nike, is currently in a Pet Emergency room thanks to Bruce at San Diego Pet Driver. San Diego Pet Driver is a wonderful service with caring, friendly staff that made our lives a lot easier during a very difficult time. My dog Maggie was enrolled in a cancer study all the way up in Carlsbad (we're in Downtown) and I was having to drop her off at 8am, drive back down to Kearny Mesa to go to work, head back up after 3:30, sometimes 6, then head back home during rush hour on the 5... 5 times a week!!!
