San Diego Piano Movers have definitely earned their nearly five star status. I was beyond impressed with the moved they did for my 6.5' Weber grand piano yesterday. I would not have believed two guys could move a grand piano that quickly if I had not witnessed it myself. I have moved this specific piano across the country & 5 times within San Diego. I have never had it moved this efficiently and safely. The team of two arrived on time, within the allotted window. In about 15 minutes, they had they piano on the the piano board and were rolling it into the elevator. After a short drive to the new location, they had the piano upright and and on its legs again in about another 15 minutes. They were very patient in moving it into the exact location I wanted in the bedroom before putting it back onto the weight distribution disks. They even gracefully handled our HOA's insistence that they place blankets under the piano board despite explaining that it makes it extremely dangerous to push the piano. This was my first time hiring separate piano movers from the regulars movers, and I will never go back to allowing non-piano movers to move my piano. I have watched a team of 5 guys almost drop my piano while getting it off the board and had to jump in to save it. I was never concerned watching these two guys move my piano, and honestly, it wasn't that much more expensive than adding the hours it has taken regular movers to the bill. Absolutely stellar from initial quote to day-of service. I submitted a quote online and had a reply back within an hour. On the day of the service, I was called early in the morning with a pickup and drop-off window that was totally respectful of my day. Our friend at the pickup location called and said she couldn't believe how quick and quiet they were with only two guys, and sure enough, within the hour their truck was pulling into our driveway for delivery. It was a quick and careful job and in about 15 minutes, our piano was in the perfect spot in our den. It was well worth the very reasonable delivery fee for such quick and professional service. Not a scuff on the piano, the floors, or the walls, and my dad & husband's backs are thankful as well. :) I would recommend this service to anyone considering moving a piano. San Diego Piano Movers moved and delivered a giant, heavy, carved palmwood statue (Tiki), that ended up weighing more than 2000 lbs. Dave was quick to respond, professional and friendly, gave a reasonable quote, but suggested pickup from Long Beach to North County San Diego instead of just unloading here, which proved to be a better idea as Dave and his team were able to load and unload it easier. The guys were prompt on the delivery time, worked very quickly and had a great positive attitude. The final cost was very reasonable and the Tiki arrived undamaged. I called San Diego Piano Movers to move my baby grand piano from our living room to the adjacent entry way (up a six inch step) so we could have our carpets replaced. Ryan was so easy to work with and his price was really competitive. He arrived on-time and kept me informed about what would happen when. He returned a week later to move the piano back where it originally was. Difficult to get a date, I found-out later on that they only operate 2 days a week... The lady answering was very courteous, accommodating and professional, but next call the husband answered and he was rough, not caring and border line rude... Finally I was able to get a good date but took almost a month! They came to pick up and did not follow instructions at all! They just rushed in the house trough the gate following another truck, run trough a completely separate area... They picked up with ease placing into a doily and then delivered 5 hours later even easier in like just 5 minutes! Overall was ok but too expensive for such an easy job $435 is too much! read more

They came highly recommended. When they came to pick up the instrument, they examined the nearly new Kawai grand piano, with three of them examining the case and legs so we could document the condition of the piano. I watched them run their hands over the top of the lid. When it was delivered two months later, there were two indentations on the lid. I pointed the damage out to the owner, who delivered the piano alone, and he said those marks must have been there before. I do not recommend them. read more

Ultimately, this company damaged my piano, and so I would think twice before having this company move yours. At the very least, I would insist that the piano be wrapped, inspect it carefully before they put it on the truck, inspect how they secure it in the truck, and inspect it when they take it off the truck. The damage they caused was most likely due to how they secured it in their truck. I was careless and didn't inspect the piano when they were done, and when I noticed it later and called them, their attitude was, "Tough luck, buddy". read more

I requested my instrument to be moved by them, and after reading the reviews, I decided to give a call. They were very good at responding in a timely manner. Very nice, polite, extremely helpful. Here is my reason for the 3 star: 1. they didn't wrap my instrument AT ALL. It's not a shiny brand new instrument, but I do believe they should to avoid scratches 2. they dragged it on the ground in stead of lifting it up. There was no wheels under... 3. two movers came to move one instrument, and my husband had to help them balancing it, lifting it and so on. I just think that if two people are not enough, then bring three. And if it's risky, heavy, not easy to balance, then at least wrap it all around for extra protection. read more

Again, they did a fantastic job. --They arrived on time! --They had the piano disassembled, wrapped, and on the truck in less than 20 minutes (and that included a flight of stairs). They had it down to a science. One of the crew was a trainee and I was amazed at the level of detail of the training he was receiving. --At the destination, they had the piano reassembled in no time with no damage whatsoever.
