Dr. Pardo came across as very condescending throughout my visit, but what concerned me even more…read morewas the billing. I was told that a 2D oral photographic image would not result in any additional cost to me or my dental insurance. However, when I later reviewed my insurance explanation of benefits, I saw that my insurance had been billed $346 for that imaging. After noticing the charge, I reached out to Dr. Pardo for clarification. Instead of receiving a straightforward explanation, she responded dismissively. Because Dr. Pardo knew I was trying to make the most of my annual insurance benefits, I was disappointed to see my available coverage used for a service that wasn't necessary. Dr. Pardo later said the imaging was necessary, but then why would the dental hygienist ask as if I wanted it in the first place? I shouldn't have to pay for the lack of communication between Dr. Pardo and her staff. I also called several dentists, and they all confirmed that those specialized images aren't necessary for care. There is absolutely no reason for Dr. Pardo to be dishonest and rude.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about EVERYONE at Foothill Family Dental! ESPECIALLY Dr. Mariam! This is a long story I'll try to make short. In May 2021 my daughter (in her 20's) was in a really bad skating accident. Think skatepark bowl, doing tricks, not sidewalk skating. She had messed herself up so bad. Sitting in the emergency room with her she had one tooth cracked in half, hanging literally from a root and another broken in half, numerous cuts, scraps & lacerations to her beautiful face, a fractured wrist and a major concussion. I was FREAKING OUT and scared for her, she was in so much pain and I knew she was going to loose her two font teeth. While sitting in the emergency room with my daughter I frantically called NINE emergency dentists and left a message with every single one of them! The ONLY dentist to call me back was Dr Mirium, less than 10 min. after I had left a message. She immediately calmed me down & comforted me and reassured me that my daughter would be okay and that she would take care of her right away. Fast forward to today. I never did receive a return phone call from any of those other eight emergency dentists I left messages for. Through This whole process Dr. Mirium has gone above and beyond for my daughter, making sure everything was perfect and comfortable. Calling frequently to check in on her. She's not only given her a gorgeous smile. She has also given back her self esteem and confidence. My whole family now see Dr. Mirium, we wouldn't trust our smiles with anyone else! We are all so thankful for everyone in that office! I hope that my trust, love and respect for them are conveyed in this review! My daughters and I have consistently been going to our dentist for 19 years, getting regular…read morecleanings every 6 months. Unfortunately our family dentist retired and I made appointments for us to be seen at Foothill Family Dental Group. While the staff there is friendly, I have never paid so much out of pocket for regular cleanings. We have dual coverage with two different insurance groups, however billing was not clear and "irrigation" was not covered. I also do not feel the "cleaning" was done well. They said we needed "Deep Cleaning" which was never something our regular dentist required. When I did that and went back for the regular cleaning I never saw a dentist, and they simply polished my teeth. My family and I will not be going back... Also be prepared to wait a long time for your appointment! Save your money and do not go here.

The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming, which helped my teens feel comfortable right away. The hygienist and dentist were patient, gentle, and took the time to explain each step so both my kids understood what was happening. I'm so glad we found this office. It's not always easy to find a place that makes teens feel comfortable, but this team went above and beyond. Highly recommend! So grateful for all the ladies there!!

I used to see Dr. Castellanos when I was a kid with my mom, roughly between the ages of…read more12-15(2004-2007). Now as an adult I've realized how horrendous of a doctor he was. Our family eventually stopped seeing him after 3 years of being under his care. We went to him because it was hard to find doctors who spoke Spanish in our area at the time. I'll start with the worst. My mom used to be really concerned for her health. Over time we realized her concerns were signs of what she's now developed, diverticulitis and other digestive issues. She often came in with pain and explained her concerns. Dr. Castellanos would tell my mom that she was fine and to take ibuprofen. Any time she came in it was the same thing even though her symptoms progressed - continue to take ibuprofen. Eventually she told my mom she was too worried and was a bother. We finally stopped going to see him when she used the restroom and found blood in her stool. She developed ulcers in her throat and stomach that were very painful when eating. After we stopped going to see him we found out all of her symptoms were the beginning of diverticulitis. In 2009 she ended up going to the ER because she was heavily bleeding when she used the bathroom. A diverticula had burst open and it was discovered she has 3 total that had developed. She was taken to emergency surgery. She's suffered through diverticulitis ever since with multiple ER visits. Dr. Castellanos was negligent as a doctor when presented with symptoms. He could have referred her to a gastroenterologist but never did. We had HMO at the time and eventually switched to PPO but it was after dealing with him. For my own case, I developed gastro issues around 12 and realized I had sensitivity to certain foods that lead to a lot of gas and odd noises in my intestines. I felt shy about it as a kid but was worried because I didn't want to sit in class having those noises come from my intestines because well... it was awkward. My side of the classroom could hear my gas issues and I didn't understand what was causing it. When I told him he blew me off and told me to eat more fiber. I didn't bother more about it or ask because I was too ashamed to ask more. Years later I realized I had food sensitivities and that I need to be careful to avoid dairy. All of this to say - I would absolutely NEVER recommend anyone to see Dr Castallanos. My mom could have sued him for negligence but decided not to. Seeing him still in practice now and talking to family about health made me 20 years later have to go back to write this.

I have been a patient at Dr. Bunker's office for over 25 plus years. Dr. Bunkers or (Dr. B), the hygienist and the staff are a team of very dedicated and caring professionals. The office is up to date with current dental technology. Even though I visit the office twice a year for teeth cleaning only with an occasional emergency, I feel as though I am part of their family not just a patient. Everyone gets to know you personally and vice versa with sincere conversations in regards to life and family. I would like to share a particular tooth emergency. It was a late Friday night a crown on one of my front tooth fell out while brushing my teeth. It is not easy to talk and what was I going to do over the long weekend with a missing tooth. The office is closed on weekends but I decided to call. Lucky me I was able speak to Dr. Bunker's directly on the phone. Dr. B. went out of his way to make sure my dental needs were taken care on Saturday morning. Thank you for taking care of my teeth so I can keep on smiling. read more

Dr. Brar was able to successfully fill a cavity that was under the gum line when in such a way that not only ended up looking great cosmetically, but also literally saved my tooth from either a root canal or an extraction. He was willing to work with me in terms of helping me to find appropriate dental materials that I was not reactive to based on my Clifford report and I am pleased to report that I have had no problems since he completed the work. He conducted a thorough exam, which included assessing how deep the cavitation was and whether or not it was going to affect the nerve, and then developed a detailed and appropriate treatment protocol to take care of the problem. His professional and friendly demeanor was critical: He explained everything that he was going to do, as he was doing the procedure, and as a result, this event was both painless and anxiety-free. I highly recommend San Dimas Dental Group. Their staff is wonderful. Dr. Real is the best. He is so patient and understanding and always explains with great detail the dental work I will be having. My entire family has been going to Dr Bunkers for about 28 years. Our very first visit was a result of my 4 year old son falling and injuring his teeth. Dr Bunkers was so gentle and professional that I decided he would be our family dentist. I recently had an insurance change that required I change insurance plans so that I could keep going to Dr Bunkers. I hear others say 'a good dentist is hard to find' but I beg to differ. Throughout the years when my kids were young, finances were hard, he let us make payments and was extremely patient. The hygienists and office staff are also very much like family and I can tell they like where they work because there is little to no turnover. This is the best dental group I have ever had in my 62 years of living all over the country. Dr. Savani is an exceptional dentist and I hope she is my dentist for life! Julie is my dental hygienist and the most caring and compassionate person I have ever had to clean my teeth. I had bad experiences in my early 20s with dentists back in Connecticut, but this is the most caring and professional dental group I have ever experienced since moving to California. I have been going to Doctor Bunkers since the 1970's. That in its self says a lot. He has taken care of my teeth and they are in excellent condition, even at my age of 73. I highly recommend his office. I had an opportunity to see Doctor Savani when I was experiencing some dental pain and Doctor Bunkers was not available. She too was very caring and took care of my problem. Today I had my regular six month cleaning and Yvette cleaned my teeth. She was very thorough and did an excellent job. I was impressed and requested Yvette for my next cleaning. Their office has recently been re-modeled and provides a very nice atmosphere. I have been coming to San Dimas Dental since I was about 9 or 10 years old, and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. The staff is very friendly, the facility is clean, and I'm always able to get an appointment when I need it. I would definitely recommend trying here if you're looking for a new dentist. I personally am a patient of Dr. Bunkers, but I've heard that the other doctor in the building is just as good. I normally get my teeth cleaned by Elaine (who is so friendly!), however last time I was there, Alexis cleaned my teeth. She did a great job answering my questions, was super friendly, and also made my teeth feel sooo clean :) read more

I've been coming to this dental office for close to 30 years. I want to give a shout out to my hygienist, Julie. She always does a fantastic job. Getting your teeth cleaned can leave you sore. I've had some hygienists who have left me feeling roughed up. But Julie has always done a great job at cleaning and yet not leaving me feeling sore. She is thorough and encouraging, never making me feel like I'm doing a bad job at my own dental upkeep (I've had some hygienists make me feel horrible, even when I feel like I'm trying my hardest). I have been going to Dr. Bunkers at the San Dimas Dental Group for over 15 years. A co worker recommended him after I had a very bad experience with another dentist, and hadn't been to a dentist for years after that. Due to that bad experience and others I am very dentist phobic! But the whole experience of going to this office was a positive one for me. I felt at ease and comfortable. The dental hygienists are wonderful, thorough and careful. Dr. Bunkers is great. I have been visiting this office for over 17 years. After Dr. Lipowski left I started seeing Dr Savani who is incredibly kind and professional, understanding. The staff is so friendly, esp Cindy at the front desk. For the past 5 years I have requested Peggy for my hygienist. She has been SO sweet and kind. I have been going to Dr. Bunkers, with the San Dimas Dental Group, for over 25 years. I first went to Dr. Thompson because I went to him when I was growing up, so I wanted to take my son to him. Dr. Thompson retired and I have been seeing Dr. Bunkers ever since.. The didn't take my HMO insurance anymore so I took out whatever insurance they offered so I could stay with Dr. Bunkers. I am always hesitant to visit the Dentist, so I procrastinated several years. My recent visits with Dr. Brar was a fantastic experience. He provided me information of each visit and walked me through each process and procedure. Dr. Brar knows what he is doing and is very kind to the patient as well to his staff. Wendy the Dental Assistant was nice and calmed me down throughout the visit. I wish I had found this wonderful Dental office earlier. I have been going here for many, many years and have always had a great experience. Recently I decided to get Invisalign Braces. I have been more than happy with the process. Dr. Bunkers is so knowledgeable when it comes to these braces and explained everything that I wanted to know. They are less expensive than I had imagined and work so quickly. I called the office and spoke with Ely who confirmed the details and then I proceeded to make the appointment online. The process was very easy. Upon arriving at the office I was greeted by Brenda who was very nice (not sure what the other reviews about her were about) she sent me a link to complete my patient profile and it took all but five minutes. I was taken back for X-rays and photos of my teeth first and a saliva test which I'm so happy that they did. Everyone at this point had been so nice and caring which can usually be a hit or miss with dental offices. Then I was greeted by Dr. Courtney (USC educated Go Trojans!!!!) who was one of the most pleasant dentists I have ever been with. We had a briefing of my visit and then I was taken to the treatment room. Dr. Courtney then came and went over my X-rays and photos. I had been a previous tobacco smoker for years and knew that my basic cleaning was likely not going to cut it so I had come prepared. Dr. Courtney thoroughly went over the issues and suggested doing a deep cleaning to match my expectations of the visit for the day. She didn't try to upsell me on any additional unnecessary cosmetic services or anything that was beyond the scope of what we spoke about in our briefing prior which really made me feel comfortable. After I questioned cost Ely (who is such a sweet person) came and went over costs with me, everything was transparent, and I had a budget that I was working with. Without having to have a long extended negotiation and without any pressure Ely worked with my budget and came to an agreement. Once the treatment began I was greeted by the RDH Sarah B. Who was OMG so amazing and so knowledgeable about her craft!!!!!! She let me know that she had a meeting and that she would be doing half and Dr. Courtney would come and do the rest. Deep cleanings can be painful I knew this going into it and I didn't even feel the numbing injection that's how great she was. She got straight to work and was a perfectionist which I appreciate so much. Dr. Courtney returned for the second half and also with a perfectionist mindset really went in as gentle as possible and took care of my teeth. They were both so attentive in the process and asked if I needed breaks or if there was pain. Sarah returned to finish the process and when she showed me my teeth I was just amazed. They looked 100x better than what I arrived with! Yes. Pricing is a marginally higher than some dental offices, you just need to have a realistic budget to allow them to work with you. I would also say that the overall team was great and if it helps support the entire team then it's worth it. I will definitely return to them and highly recommend both Dr. Courtney and Sarah B RDH, not only for their knowledge and care but also just for the great energy they gave off during my visit. I expected clearer communication, clearer documentation, and a more transparent explanation before being presented with a significant periodontal treatment plan. I scheduled what I understood to be a routine dental cleaning, but the visit became a comprehensive diagnostic appointment with X-rays, CBCT, intraoral photos, and an OralFitnessCheck/aMMP-8 test. I was then told I had Stage III periodontal disease and was given a treatment plan for four-quadrant scaling and root planing, plus an added "Bac Decon/Qd" procedure. My concern is not that periodontal disease was discussed. My concern is that I did not feel the diagnosis and treatment plan were clearly explained to me with objective documentation at the time of the visit. I was not shown a full periodontal chart with probing depths, bleeding-on-probing findings, recession, clinical attachment loss, mobility, or furcation findings. I also did not feel that the CBCT/X-ray findings were explained in a way that clearly justified a Stage III periodontal diagnosis. Because Stage III periodontal disease is a serious diagnosis, I expected a clearer explanation of the clinical criteria, the imaging findings, and why each part of the treatment plan was necessary. I also felt overwhelmed by the financial/treatment plan when I had originally come in expecting a routine cleaning. I have requested my complete records, including the periodontal chart, imaging, clinical notes, written diagnosis, and explanation of the treatment plan, so I can review them and seek a second opinion before moving forward. We will see if they send me my data. Update 6/1/26: Only one test was given to me. I've asked again for all the information and called the front desk. Front desk staff said I would have this by end of day today. I will update again. Final update 6/2/26: The office eventually sent me a PDF of my records after multiple MyChart messages and phone calls. After reviewing what they sent, I remain concerned. The records I received do not appear to include a full periodontal chart with six-point probing depths, bleeding-on-probing findings, recession measurements, clinical attachment loss, mobility, or furcation findings. That is the type of documentation I expected to see after being told I had serious periodontal disease and being given a treatment plan for four-quadrant scaling and root planing. The written clinical note in the records states: "Stage II, Grade B Periodontitis, Distribution: Generalized," not Stage III. This differs from what I was verbally told during the visit, which makes me agree with other 1-star reviews that they engage in "scare tactics" to have new patients agree to costly treatment plans. The CBCT note in the records also states that alveolar bone levels were within normal limits, bone density was good around all teeth, and CBCT findings were normal. However, the exam note also states generalized mild horizontal bone loss, and the treatment plan still recommended scaling and root planing in all four quadrants plus "Bac Decon/Qd." I have now asked the office in writing to clarify: whether a full periodontal chart was completed, whether my diagnosis is Stage II or Stage III, and how four-quadrant scaling and root planing is supported by the records they provided. My next steps are contacting my insurance to reject their additional charged services and obtain a covered second opinion due to their inconsistent reporting. LESSON LEARNED: Please be informed about each test they are running if you are coming into this office. The time spent, the imaging taken, and the tests performed may go beyond what you expected if you scheduled a routine cleaning. Ask in advance what procedures are being done, why they are needed, whether they are covered by your insurance, and whether you may be responsible for any non-covered costs. If you are given a serious diagnosis, ask to see the objective documentation before agreeing to treatment. For periodontal disease, that should include the periodontal chart/probing depths, bleeding-on-probing findings, recession or attachment-loss measurements, X-rays/CBCT findings, and a clear written diagnosis. Do not feel pressured to schedule treatment immediately if you do not understand the diagnosis or the charges. Request your records and get a second opinion if needed. Good luck!

My recent experience trying to get care for my son has been beyond frustrating and deeply concerning. My son is in pain and needs his wisdom teeth removed. I spoke to Silvia, the office manager, who assured me she would contact our insurance and provide an estimate. Days later, she emailed me a quote that raised red flags. When I checked the exact procedure codes on my insurance company's website, I discovered she was charging the full 70%--which is what insurance is supposed to pay--directly to me, the patient. This made it seem like they were billing both me and the insurance the same amount, potentially engaging in double-dipping. When I called the Glendora office to get clarity, the staff said I had to speak with Silvia. She wasn't in, but the front desk casually explained that "this is just the price we feel like charging," and if insurance pays more, they'll refund the patient. That's not how transparent billing or honest medical practice should work. I tried contacting Silvia again, this time at their Claremont Smiles office. Not only was she evasive, but when asked to explain the pricing, she suddenly claimed she needed to speak to the regional manager, Ariana. I reminded her that she is the office manager--yet she couldn't answer a basic question and delayed the conversation for another week. When she finally responded via email, she said my son needed to come in person for an estimate, more than a week after I originally reached out and after acknowledging my son's pain. I asked to see the billing breakdown from my husband's previous oral surgery (also done at this office) to compare. My husband was sitting next to me and verbally authorized Silvia to speak to me. She refused to proceed unless he repeated a very specific sentence she demanded, even though I had already explained the request clearly. Once again, she deflected responsibility to Ariana, and when I asked for Ariana's contact information, Silvia hung up on me. The lack of professionalism, the runaround, and the shady billing practices are unacceptable. I will be reporting Ecco Dental to my insurance company. Patients deserve honest communication and ethical care, not to be misled or dismissed when they're trying to help their child in pain. Steer clear of Ecco Dental. You deserve better.
