The screen had lines and would black out, making the laptop unusable. When I took it to the Apple Store, I was quoted $1,100 just to send it in for diagnosis, or $1,400 for a new laptop. I contacted two other repair shops, but they didn't handle Macs or water damage. Thankfully, I found San Francisco Bay Computer Services. They quoted me $467 for the repair, which included a screen with the Apple logo. I paid a 50% deposit, and they ordered the part, which arrived in just one day. I dropped off the laptop in the morning and picked it up the same day--fully repaired and working perfectly! They also provided a 30-day warranty on labor and assured me the parts have a manufacturer warranty. To top it off, I received a 20% discount on labor for my next visit (not that I hope to need it anytime soon!). Ed was responsive on the phone and texted me when laptop was ready for pickup. Their professionalism, efficiency, and fair pricing make them stand out. I highly recommend this business to anyone in need of computer repairs, especially for Macs!

Imagine paying hundreds in penalties for a defective experience that the store itself admits is "normal." Meanwhile Costco and Amazon manage returns without punishing customers for faulty products. Lesson learned: Best Buy's policies are stuck in another decade. Shop elsewhere.

They have a superb selection of various dongles that allow you to attach anything to anything, and their prices the same or beat buying off Amazon for Hard Drives and SSDs and RAM. Their sales people have turned over since the 90s, but my buddy, Candy is still there. (Hi Candy!) :-). I often call in an order of parts and have it waiting when I get there a few hours later - park the cark outside, run in and pick them up and return to the car in under 3 mins! However I love to browse there to see what's new. I miss Fry's but Central has been able to somewhat fill the void. Go Central!
