    Maximum Pressure Forefoot

It's odd not to know that something exists--and then wonder how one ever did without it. My neighbor had commented on his new pair of Hoka shoes; then, a few days later, there was an article on the company in the Wall Street Journal. And, just down the hill, they were being carried by San Francisco Running Company. But, in all of this unexpected sequence of events, the best part--the very best part--was being helped there by Mecque, who patiently explained the differences between the seemingly infinite variety of Hoka styles and models, helping me to choose the one best suited for me. Too, she introduced me to store's very high-tech Aetrex scanner that measured every metric of my feet. An extraordinarily comfortable shoe, fancy technology, truly informed and courteous assistance: a perfect day!

Expert advice from experience endurance athletes. Making my transition from pavement to trail for the NFEC. One short chat and boom. Three options I tried on the treadmill and I was done in minutes. Thank you. #eatmytraildust

Sometimes you find a shop that just nails it on all levels. I'd say this is the top running shop I've ever been to. Recently I decided I wanted to add trail running to my list of things that get the endorphins flowing. I heard about SF Running Co and made the trip over the bridge to Mill Valley. It was a short drive from SF and they have a parking lot! These guys know what they are doing. The shop was recently closed for part of a weekend so the staff could run Western States - fast. Jorge was super helpful. He talked to me about what I like in a shoe and came out with 4 different brands in my size. I did some research online for trail shoes. It seemed that shops closer to home would have one or 2 options that I wanted to look at. This place had EVERYTHING I researched plus other options I never thought about. Bought a pair pf Brooks Pure Grit that worked perfectly for me. They even gave me some great trail suggestions and sent me off to run up the Marin Headlands. (For some reason, running miles uphill seem like a good idea lately...) I also learned that they have a very popular run that meets at the shop on Saturday mornings. Looking forward to checking that out. If you haven't been here yet, be sure to check it out before your next new tire purchase!

I got new shoes here several months ago & since Jorge's help, my feet have never been happier. It truly is the only store I'll ever get another pair of running-type shoes. Today, I brought in the significant other & he also experienced the same extraordinary customer service. I told Brett the SO's complaints about his current shoes & the SO shared what he'd like in a new pair. Brett brought out a couple different pairs & both were tested on the treadmill before the SO walked out with a new spring in his step. He's been running on the new pair every day for more than a week now & not one complaint. Only I know how rare this is. If you need a new running shoe, look no further than this perfect place filled with a great selection & the most helpful staff.

I tried on a pair of shoes and a dress. My friends also shopped around. This is a very high end shop with New York energy. I loved the dress and bought it. I loved the shoes and as I tried them on asked my friend what she thought, she didn't love them as much as me and the store salesperson said, if you don't love them don't get them. I appreciated that and ended up with just the dress. Well, I happened to be in Mill Valley today and it's been a couple weeks since the event. I went back to see if the shoes were there and if other shoes might also be on sale. As soon as I entered, from out of the back, the same salesperson acknowledged me and literally followed me with his eyes on everything I went near-boots, dresses, pants. He kept commenting on everything and didn't stop. It was really uncomfortable. I really loved a pair of black stacked boots, but at 50% off $658 of last pair in my size, I felt his energy was too much for me just wanting a calm no pressure experience. He didn't move from the counter but just kept watching me and it was just more than I could take.

Their rudeness, their aggressive behavior is off the charts. This is a couple that obviously has not worked on themselves at all. They can't deal with anything at all except taking your money. I bought a beautiful dress quite a while ago and had never worn it - it actually still has the tag. I wanted to put it on a couple of days ago. And when I got it out, it started shedding like crazy. The leather part was flaking completely. I went to the store expecting first an apology, and I was hoping I could get some kind of store credit. I paid over $300 bucks for it! I didn't expect the full price, but I figured it was only fair to get some kind of store credit in order to purchase something else. Well, these monsters threw me out of the store and threatened to call the police if I didn't leave. Unreal! They took no responsibility whatsoever. No apology, no normal and decent reaction to see what could be done. Completely reactive, bellicose and combative attitude. Avoid them like the plague!

They have an Orange Theory Fitness center, a Woodland's Pet Store, as well as a AAA location (for all my automotive/DMV needs). Over the years, they've done a really nice job of landscaping the property. There are plenty of palm trees and outdoor seating areas (which is especially convenient now during this Covid craziness). The shopping center is always clean. Seldom will you find litter or debris on the ground. In the past few year, more upscale shops have opened their doors to appease the local Soccer moms, including Spanish Table, West Elm, Lavande Nail Spa, and Athleta. You certainly won't find a Target, Panda Express or $1 Store in this mall. Welcome to Mill Valley, folks. Although Strawberry Village continues to expand its vendor portfolio and spruce itself up, my favorite thing about this mall is the smaller businesses who have been there for years. I'm talking about the old shoe/watch repair store, the copy shop, the camera store, and Arch Rival (which continues to sell sporting goods and shoes). Even in this Amazon home delivery world, these businesses continue to survive, and I'm happy to support them. * If you're a dog owner, I'll let you in on a little secret. In the last year, the prices have skyrocketed. What used to be the highest priced item is now the norm. $600 sweaters, $800 slip dresses, etc. Listen I get it, it's Mill Valley and an increasingly wealthier demographic with inflation being insane. But also, this sucks? Your prices have literally doubled. What once felt like an occasional shopping treat now just feels alienating and over the top.
