You know right away if the shoe on display has your size by looking down at the inventory stacked below. You won't find the latest greatest models of shoes but you will find something for your feet. Manage expectations. You aren't shopping at Nordstrom or even Neiman Marcus designer shoe parlours. I bought New Balance for my sweet mother in law. Then I bought a pair for my loving husband. They both LOVE their new shoes, the fit, and how it makes their bodies feel. I'm delighted that I have made straightforward no fuss purchases at a great price to persuade both of them to exclusively buy footwear that fits well from day 1 while supporting your body. I knocked off a star because while I do understand their great prices are due to self service and not stocking the latest style. I wanted the latest style New Balance like mine from Nordstrom. I was too lazy to drive to Nordstrom Corte Madera when I also wanted to take my MIL clothes shopping at the lovely Vintage Mall. I swear snails move faster and once the manager left, she tried to continue her gossiping over the registers and in between instructions for the customer. The selection is pretty broad and easy to find something you need no matter the occasion. And they have great brands that are well worth it. Of course, upon receipt, the box was crushed and torn in a corner. As you can imagine, I was highly disappointed and commented on their instagram page expressing my dissatisfaction. I then called yesterday on 03/22/2025 and spoke with a manager named Crystal. This woman was completely unprofessional, disrespectful and threatening! She was totally unhinged. Not only did she insult me, but she actually said I wasn't a runner (which couldn't be further from the truth as I actually run a 5k approximately 3-4x a week). She said I needed to "put on my shoes, go outside, be happy and smile." Unbelievably presumptuous and rude! Then she ended our call by hanging up on me right before calling me a scammer then she was going to report me to the Shop app. Even if I wasn't a runner, which I am, whether I chose to wear my shoes or take a dump in them is entirely my business! When I purchase something new, especially when it's close to $300, I would expect that not only the shoes, but the box arrives to me in new condition. To add insult to injury, she demanded I send the shoes back "in a box," which I found to be totally rich as they hadn't even sent it to me in a box! The woman is mentally unstable. I could even hear her shaking through the phone. Not once did I raise my voice or use profanity and her reaction was 100% unwarranted. Update: I'm changing my feedback from 1 star to 3 because apparently I was issued a refund, but unbeknownst to me. I only saw it appear on my account after the fact. As I had previosly mentioned to leadership, an apology would have gone a long way with me. No one was asking for money back or charity, but I appreciate the initiative nonetheless. I explained my foot problems as I had just returned from my Podiatry Dr Visit. Explained my need for the ideal shoe for work and for non-working days. All the while as I'm trying on shoes she set me up to try, she's juggling other customers graciously and successfully, also stocking shoes. I felt very relieved and happy with my purchases. I want to walk into no more than three or four stores, get everything I need, and be done with it. That said, I enjoy walking through my favorite stores and checking out the goods without any specific purchase in mind. Sometimes, I find something I wasn't planning to buy, but I realize it could help me or make someone close to me very happy. I know this sounds confusing, but I think you get what I mean! Anyway, Nordstrom Racks is one of the stores I enjoy walking through. They are organized and carry well-known brands, which is not as important to me as it is to many others. This specific location is one of those stores that we visit often, and I have found and bought many items here. The staff has been helpful whenever I needed help, and we've never had any issues shopping here. The prices for certain items may be somewhat higher here than some other comparable stores, but if you do not have the time to go from store to store hoping for a better price, then it is worth it. The only drawback is that the racks can get very messy during busy shopping periods like the holiday season. So, it is always best to visit and get what you need before the crowds rush in and mess things up!
