We attended a storytelling/ playtime class. There was singing, hand gestures and lots of toys. It was so much fun. Lots of toddlers too! I am looking forward to more activities. We also got our first library card. We now have access to several other libraries in the area. We checked out a few books. We are hoping to also join the 1000 books before kindergarten next time we go. Overall, it was clean, spacious areas for all ages.

For the new welcoming place for all parking permits it's remarkably unlabeled and not easy to find. Don't go to the main doors of the building go down to what seems to be a lower level area to find the police department. Also write down your license plate number yo save yourself a trip back to your car. I love that everyone just kept saying sorry new rules. Library visits require a visit to the police station. Someone call the firemen.

The staff is always friendly and there is security on patrol in the parking lot. I love to read and find it super convenient that I can check out books online and pick them up at any library location in San Joaquin County. Not only is it location in a very busy area that would make it tough to visit if you aren't able to walk or use public transportation (parking on the street is metered & in high demand and the parking lot is beyond small), but the location itself is quite small. It feels almost like a satellite branch than an actual library. I guess it would be good for just working, but that's about it. It didn't look like it had much of a selection. Finally, I want to believe it was a one off, but the librarian who helped me was the first in over a dozen library visits who wasn't beyond friendly and helpful. She just seemed to not want to be there that day. It just capped off a disappointing trip.

Who doesn't love libraries?!…read more This library is our favorite! It is kept clean, organized, and have a wide variety of children's books to choose from. Staff and volunteers are always helpful. As other libraries, this branch also offer self-checkouts and easy drop offs. They they also offer automatic extension for borrowed items and you can also put books on hold if you are waiting on a specific one. I also had a privilege of using one of the conference rooms with other mom friends to help our kids with their homework. Parking is ample and is located in downtown Brentwood, so you can also shop, eat, play and walk around after. If you also want to support the library, one way is to check out their second hand books on the second floor or donate books as well.

My family regularly travels to Lodi for my sister, and we spend time at this library, although we…read morelive an hour away. This Saturday, we were there, and I needed to use the bathroom very badly before we left. When we asked for the key (because they keep the key on a stick at the desk) we were told "Sorry, we close down the bathrooms 15 minutes before closing time." It was 10 minutes before closing as we were asking. As my husband, who already has a library card here was having one issued for our daughter, I came around to the other lady at the desk to ask again, as I'm visibly pregnant, and we have an hour drive home. I implored, "I'm pregnant, I have a baby sitting on my bladder." She didn't even respond. She's sitting there issuing my daughter a library card, but she can't make an exception and hand a pregnant woman a key to the restroom. It felt inhuman. So now, although it is otherwise a great library, I don't feel like supporting a place where policies like that supersede humanity and compassion.

Being a part of that community is one thing, but introducing sexual concepts to children is another thing that is inappropriate, no matter what you prefer in the bedroom. The fact that none of the librarians could tell me who to complain to I found very odd since I'm not the only parent who does not like sexual content mixed into kids books. It truly is sad that so many companies have dialed down the rhetoric but the Lodi Public Library is not concerned with protecting kids from sexual adult content.

So many books to do with my culture so many colorful books waiting to be explored wanting to be read by young and wise hands. I was welcomed with such a wonderful sight. fond and old memories started finding their way back to the surface and I could recall my first visit to the elementary library discovering words and pages for the first time. Shelves upon shelves stacked with knowledge to be rediscovered. Small and cozy. You'll have to search for it and like all good things its a hard find. But so worth it. Didn't know stockton held such Gem within its city. Mr Soto has an Awesome variety of Chicano/Mexican culture books from the pre-hispanic era to the Chicano movement and much much more!! A very knowledgeable man patient and willing to sit with you and share his life experiences. I truly was blessed to have spent 4 hours sharing stories, ideas and books with Mr Soto. Sad to leave but happy to come back for more books! And yes I got a membership so now I can take home and read all the books I want! Except for Mr Soto's collection those you'd have to read in the center!
