    Fajitas!
    Krystle M.

First time dining here. Best friend picked it for a taco Tuesday type place. The bean dip we ordered was rocking. $8 Cabernet wine was good, chicken and steak fajitas were awesome. Didn't love the 1.75 up charge for "extra" sour cream (didn't need a whole dish of it, just another small side). Our experience felt a little rushed. Overall, good authentic Mexican food for okay prices.

Chori Pollo taste perfect!!!! Just right amount of flavors - great vibes. They have outdoor patio seating. Came on a Friday night and seated promptly. Customer service is very friendly however depending on server ( can be slow ) Overall 4 stars experience due to lack of attentiveness by server. Definitely will be coming back for in dining again.

So we were looking for a new Mexican food place close to where we are moving and found this place. The atmosphere is pretty inviting and it has its Mexican undertones. As for the food the chips and queso were average for what they are. The salsa was tasty with the right amount of spice. As for main dish the pollo loco was good and a nice large serving. I ordered 2 beef tostados and they were a basic tostado. Now everything was good and then I got into the Al pastor quesadilla. This shocked me at first bite. I love pastor and the flavor of the pineapple and spice was a bomb of flavor in this one. Probably one of the best if not the best I have. As far as why I have 4 stars the service left a little to be desired. Our server was not attentive and didn't check on us. But overall this is a most try and I will be back.

Oh my gosh! I can't believe that I have not reviewed this excellent restaurant. I was here Tuesday (11/15/22) for our retiree lunch. This was our second time together - all 12 of us! They are very accommodating, especially since we all need separate checks. I've also been here several times with family and friends. Every time was something new and I was not disappointed with the service (friendly, fast and thorough) or food (hot and good). Tuesday, while waiting for our food we snacked on the crisp tortilla chips and mild (thank goodness) sauce. Both were addicting. I ordered the enchilada special and I wish I had taken a photo. It was beautifully prepared. I ate every bit of it. One of my friends had the Speedy Gonzalez, rice with a taco and something else. I don't remember as my food distracted me from others' enjoyment of their entrees. No one complained, and some took home what they could not finish eating. So much food for great prices! We will definitely be back, as this will be one of the restaurants in our rotation. It's easily accessible from Pasco, Pinellas or Hillsborough, just east of the Veterans Expressway on the south side of State Road 54. We are so grateful to have found a quality Mexican restaurant with outstanding service and food!

Cute place, nice cold a/c, comfy to go seating, and outdoor seating next to the sound of a splashing fountain and topiary arch. The beef in these tacos is fantastic! Sadly the shells were stale. Huge miss. Inspired to try the dish place across the street next!

San Jose Mexican Restaurant is located on the Eastern end of Lutz by State Road 54 & the Suncoast Parkway in a Plaza next to International Beer Garden, Babs Secret Speakeasy Lounge, Bangkok Sushi, Carrabbas, & Glory Days. San Jose Mexican Restaurant serves tacos, enchiladas, Quesadillas, burritos, soups; and salads Chips & Salsa were complimentary. The salsa had a great flavor! 8/10 The Burrito Mexicabo came Stuffed w/ shredded beef, topped w/ cheese, sauce, lettuce, tomato, sour cream & guacamole. The shredded beef had a good marinade and was flavorful. 9/10 The Grand Burrito Maravilla came with a large flour tortilla, stuffed with grilled steak. chicken. cheese and beans with lettuce. avocado sour cream, ranchero or green sauce on top. 8/10 The Steak Taco Salad came with crispy flour tortilla filled with beef, beans, lettuce, tomato, cheese, sour cream and guacamole. The taco and filling was such a big portion size I could only eat half of it in one sitting. 7/10 The decor for San Jose's is festive with Mexican wall art, black furniture, and comfy booth seating! There are TV'S by the bar if you want to watch sports. If youre in the eastern end of Lutz or Land O Lakes near the Suncoast Parkway and in the mood for authentic Mexican food, definitely try San Jose's Mexican Restaurant! There is also a second location of San Jose's off the Northern end of Land O Lakes Boulevard next to the Connerton area.

Don't you love good surprises? Yeah, me too…read more I'm a long fan of Vallarta's... and had been to most locations-except for two. This was one of them. For some reason, I never seemed to be in the area during margarita hours. That changed on Saturday, when we met up here for a weekend wind-down. It's bigger inside than you think-with a large dining room and a roomy separate bar area. I love the colorful Mexican-inspired tables and the tile on the room divider. There's a fun and festive vibe flowing in here. I'm very familiar with the Vallarta's menu and knew I wanted the cheese dip. You can use the complimentary chips (that come with salsa) for dipping, but I was craving the warm, soft tortillas---totally worth the extra $1.50 for three of them. I could have been full on that, but couldn't resist ordering one of the combos. For $16.95 (as of June 2026), I had a taco (beef/crunchy), an enchilada (cheese with verde sauce) and a chile poblano (no tomato sauce on top). What an amazing mix of flavors and textures-so tasty and filling, I took more than half of it home. That taco was stuffed with well-cooked beef, crunchy fresh lettuce and their yummy white cheese. Divine! The verde sauce had tons of spice and a depth of flavor. And the stuffed and battered poblano was huge! This is a massive value for money... and so satisfying! And the adorable sun shaped lime wedge on the margarita... sensational!!! That's their Instagram moment... and such a fun extra. So, I expected the solid food and fun atmosphere. But the service took this to the next level. Carlos was so accommodating. He really listened-made great suggestions-always picked the perfect moment to check in. He brought a plastic bag with the box for leftovers-and even a container for the remaining queso. His kindness and thoughtfulness is so appreciated-and elevated this experience. Bravo-and thank you. This location is in a bustling strip mall, on the south side of SR 54... just west of Wesley Chapel (the Caribou Coffee Shop is right in front of it-and there's a Trampoline jumping place next door). There's lots of parking-and you guys know how I love that. Can't wait to go back and bring the whole crew with me!

First time here and was pretty impressed…read more As usual they offered chips and salsa that was pretty good. Personally wish it had a little more of a bite but that's just me! I ordered the Grande Burrito. Great size and packed full of meat and other filling. They offer 2 different sauces for topping so of course I went with both half and half. One was more tangy and lite bite to it, other had more tomato base with a creamy under tone. Both are great but the green sauce was my favorite. Service was good overall. Kinda wish the waiter came around a little more as they weren't very busy but he did keep my water topped off for the most part so can't complain too much. Overall this looks like a Mexican restaurant but way more themed chairs. Really makes the whole place pop more than regular boring chairs. Local place to the house will definitely stop by for more food and drinks.

Great food & service! Always a fun experience!…read more Waitress was fantastic & so much fun!

Let me clarify first, our waiter deserves 5 stars and he was great…read more CHUY's: a Pathetic attempt at Mexican food The food is a 1 star though. Honestly, hands down the worst attempt at Mexican food I've ever had. This place honestly is a disgrace to Mexican food. The salsa was pathetic, no flavor and tasted like plain tomatoes. The second "salsa" we were told is a house favorite. It was literally a cold tomatillo ranch, gross. I got 2 ground beef enchiladas with Tex mex and a chili relleno. The enchiladas were not good but were also not the worst thing ever. The chili relleno however, tasted like a frozen pack of TGI Fridays mozzarella sticks from the store. No joke, you could taste the freezer burn on them. The beans were watery and had no flavor. The rice, you could easily tell has been sitting in a fridge at least over night. It was dry, hard, and also had no flavor. It amazes me these restaurant owners want to have a successful business, but insist on cutting corners and not making fresh food. Your food sucks and I won't be back. I wouldn't even let my dogs eat this food. Harsh huh? Simple solution, make your own food. If you want a successful restaurant, make your own tortillas, cook your own beef, make your sauce fresh everyday, shred fresh cheese, STOP CUTTING CORNERS. Any person with a good palette can clearly tell everything has either been sitting in a freezer or a fridge over night. The ambiance is also quirky and I'm not sure what themes they're going with. Woods, bricks, dogs on the wall, 90's color schemes, it's just not it. It takes me 5 minutes to make great food at home, I'll never understand why restaurants can't do the same. This is the type of place you see on a Gordon Ramsay show that he tries to save. My taste buds will never forgive me for eating here, don't make the same mistake.
