Dr. Haber was willing to take on my husband who had an emergency hip surgery done by Dr. Gary Lynn, an orthopedist contracted with Good Sam hospital. Dr. Gary Lynn abandoned his patient and was not returning calls from disability, my husband's primary doctor, the OT, PT, and nurse, and the hospital case manager. Apparently, Dr. Lynn does not have an office and was unable to offer a follow up appt for my husband, which he told him directly. Despite recovery complications and reaching out to several local orthopedists to take over my husband's care, none were willing except Dr. Haber. Dr. Haber immediately ordered Xrays and met with us the next day and spent 1 1/2 hours carefully explaining surgery images and the second set of Xrays and the best steps for recovery. What a relief and what a help! He was willing to come into the office on a day he's normally off. read more

Absolute nightmare that I am still reliving one year later!! I went to see Dr. (and I use this term lightly) for a torn meniscus, which was supposed to have a very easy recovery time. I was told I would be on crutches less than a week. I was on crutches for 6 weeks! I still (over one year later) have bruising from the botchered job and had to have a second surgery (by the wonderful Dr. Warren King) to fix the tear. It apparently was never even fixed in the first surgery! I went back to Dr. Haber many times complaining of ongoing severe pain, swelling, and bruising which he told me was all in my head. How can bruising and swelling be in my head??? He just kept giving me pain meds and blowing me off. Once we saw another knee surgeon, he did another MRI which showed tons of scar tissue damage, and the existing tear that was not fixed before. Dr. King and both of his assistants were totally bafffeled about my scars from the surgery because they were not consistent with the type of procedure I had. Also, when Dr. King did the surgery for me, I was off crutches the next day! I am still having problems from the first surgery and my knee is beyond discolored from it. He is still calling me asking for payment and as far as I am concerned, he is lucky I don't sue him! If you go here, you will never be the same. He is super cocky, could care less about your pain, and is not a top notch surgeon. More like a butcher. I hope this post saves someone else the pain I went through and I am currently going through. On a side note, if you go in with an appointment, expect a minimum of a one hour wait AFTER your scheduled time. read more

No better than unqualified trainers at a 24 Hour Fitness. Not thorough in the examination/evaluation and lazy. They don't watch your form as you're doing the exercises and their approach to therapy is, well, to put it lightly, not in the least bit helpful towards rehabilitation. Absolutely no individual attention or concern for your needs, medical history, and lifestyle. They basically just give you some regular gym exercises with a bunch of reps and go talk on the phone while you're doing them. My body is now rehabilitated incorrectly because it learned to compensate in a way that resulted in a huge imbalance in my functioning. Especially if you are a dancer or an athlete, don't expect to recover under their care. The worst is their billing/records. Horrible racket these guys are running. read more

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience with this Dr. To be clear, I only had 1 visit to this office and never had surgery performed by Dr Haber. The office staff was nice and helpful. I hurt my shoulder lifting weights on a Friday and was in a lot of pain throughout the weekend. I came in on Monday morning and was examined by Dr Haber. I felt like he rushed through the examination, telling me more than once that he really can't do much until I get an MRI. He also told me in more or less words that he "knew what was wrong with me" - that I had a torn labrum (sp?). I was kind of surprised that he would know this. Anyway, I guess he eventually got the hint that I really didn't want to leave just yet. So he finally tested a couple of movements, and of course he was shocked that I was in so much pain. He put me on an xray (flouroscopy as I later found out) machine. That whole process from start to finish took about a minute, but would end up costing me $124 even with insurance. I was scheduled to come back but I ended up going to a new orthopedist and had a 100% better experience. The new Dr actually conducted a FULL and THOROUGH examination, with his aid in the office taking notes the entire time. Communicating every single test to me and explaining everything in detail. If not for this second Dr I would have thought that Haber's examination was just routine and I should just expect that level of service from all doctors. I'm not out there to ruin this Dr's reputation or business, and maybe he is one of the best surgeons out there (maybe). But as a patient and paying customer, I definitely feel that the service I had here was not deserving of the money I (and my insurance company) paid, and that there are definitely better orthopedists out there. Oh and a word of advice for *anyone* considering surgery with *any* doctor - get a second opinion! I definitely *DID NOT* have a torn labrum - far from it. read more

I am seeing Dr. Haber for an ACL reconstruction and lateral meniscus repair. The MRI did not show it, but when he went in, he found the tear in the lateral meniscus. Instead of just cleaning it up and cutting out the torn portion, he decided to repair it, which my primary physician said was a favor because down the road, it could help prevent arthritis in the knee. I believe Dr. Haber goes the extra mile with you and does what is best for you. The physical therapy place I'm going to says Dr. Haber's surgeries always come out well. My brother, who is a surgeon, looked up his credentials and said they were excellent. I am hearing great things about him! He is also an excellent communicator. He described things to me in technical terms, but I was able to understand it most of the time. If I didn't understand, he'd show me on a model or draw me a picture. We recapped the surgery, and he showed me photos and gave me commentary of what was happening. He also gave me a DVD movie of the operation highlights! He is up to date on the latest techniques, at least I can speak for my knee surgery. Both ACL and meniscus repairs were pretty new "all-inside" techniques. There's not much on the web on those techniques, but I found a medical journal that described it, and it was very cool to me that I was getting this cutting edge (no pun intended) technique used on me. There is only one area I think he is not perfect: scheduling. As can be expected from such a busy and caring doctor, you can imagine that he will occasionally get behind schedule. I've had to wait up to an hour and a half to see him, and once I had to reschedule. However, it's really worth it. I believe I'm getting the best possible care, and he is giving his best to every patient, which means we have to wait around once in a while. Bring some work with you, or read a magazine. That's part of the cost of seeing a great surgeon, I guess. Billing has been fine. There was a small mix up, but it got sorted out quickly. He has a good support staff. Finally, he's a youngish caucasian guy... maybe early 40's. Super fit -- 6% body fat? Every time I've seen him, he's worn hospital scrubs... so I'm sure he has a very busy operating schedule. My passions in life (outside of family of course!) are skiing and mountain biking. Last season I tore my ACL skiing and was devastated. I was not willing to accept anything less that a complete recovery. I researched all Dr's in this area before coming to the conclusion that Dr. Haber gave me the best chance at a full recovery. From the first appointment to my last one, Dr. Haber was very patient, answered all of my questions, never rushed me and discussed all my options with me, at length. I had no idea that the decision of how to treat my injury would be up to me. He helped me make the decision that was right for me. My surgery went well. When i 'came to' Dr. Haber was there waiting to answer any questions and review the surgery with me. it's been 7 months and already I am well on the road to recovery. For the record, I chose an allograph. Physical Therapy is right down the hallway and is top notch. I am baffled by the negative reviews. Jeb and Ryan are as professional as they come and I have them to thank for my quick recovery. They are friendly, they push you (in a good way), are extremely knowledgeable, and just like Dr. Haber are patient and take the time to explain things to you. While the location was not convenient for me, it was well worth 30 minute drive to go to these guys, I am confident that they got me back on my feet quicker than anyone else could. His office staff is extremely friendly, billing was fair, clear and on time. I would not hesitate to go back to Dr. Haber or give him the highest recommendation to anyone that needs an Orthopedic surgeon, same goes for the Physical Therapy office down the hall from him. I came in to see Dr. Haber for a lower back injury. I was in a great deal of pain and couldn't stand up straight. Dr. Haber's calm attentive demeanor, willingness to explain what was going on with my back and clear and concise answers to my questions showed respect for me as a patient and my own role is getting better. Dr. Haber is very thorough and mindful that treating the pain is important. He also knows that treating the cause of the pain is what will make you well and fit in the long run. Dr. Haber is a great doctor who takes the time to patiently explain what he is doing in full. I've had poor experiences in the past with some other healthcare providers charging me for follow up appointments on test results, after asking whether I can just be emailed/sent the test results. That was not the case for me as a follow up appointment was quick and to the point. Furthermore, I was given an unbiased analysis of my test results and was not pressured at all to go forward with additional procedures. This is an excellent and trustworthy medical practice. I have been a patient of doc Haber's for almost a year now. I can't say enough about his bed side manners. His willingness to listen to your concerns and takes the time to explain any and all of your questions that you may have about your condition he is treating you for. The surgery was done in a manner that I felt like I was there only patent that they had to care for. After the procedure was finished and some what alert, they took the time to explain what they found, did and how to care for my newly repaired knee to me and my wife. He did a "Fantastic" job on my knee and went above and beyond the repair. He cleared out the arthritis that he found as well as a large bone spur that grew between knee cap and joint as well as repaired the tear. I am a appliance technician and I am on my knees, climbing ladder's, getting in and out of my van every day five to six days a week and tore my meniscus during work. He has helped me with issues at my job and has gone out of the way on his own time to deal with them, I didn't have to do anything. Today I am very pleased and confident of DR. Haber and bragging to everyone about how well I am doing and how I owe it all to him. I am 51 years old and he will be the one I recommend and continue to see if I have any other issues that he handles. I just want everyone to know how much of a real person this man is and I wish him the best because to me, "HE IS THE BEST". I had my surgery with Dr. Haber 2 years ago. I came to him with knee pain and he insisted I get an MRI so he could see better what was happening. I obliged and got the MRI the next day. I will say his office staff was easy to deal with for making appointments. After looking at my MRI he said I had no cartilage and he could perform a surgery that was experimental. He also said he needed to realign my knee and shin and after showing me the video of what he was going to do to my knee and leg he quickly changed his mind that I might not need that surgery after he saw my horrified reaction. I have 2 small kids so there was no way I could be out of commission for months without being able to walk. Anyways...it was a little weird how quickly he decided I didn't need that surgery. After asking me what insurance I had he said he could perform the experimental juvenile cell injection surgery but I would need to go out of network for insurance billing purposes. He said it was no big deal, he knew the right coding and his billing department would take care of it. It just gets worse from here...the surgery center (he is part owner in) was an uncomfortable experience. He was late, they sent me home with very little after care instructions and a flimsy leg brace. I wasn't to report back to his office for 2 weeks. No rehab or instructions we were just on our own. When I went back to his office he was an hour late for my appointment. From this appointment on he was was a minimum of 30 minutes late for every appointment. I was of no monetary value anymore so they didn't care when I saw him. At the end of the very brief first appointment I told him my knee brace (flimsy straight leg brace) was sliding and not working and he was like "oh, well here is your real one". He handed me the full range brace that you usually see on people after knee surgery that provides a lot more stability and protection than the original first brace. Around week 2 I finally got the machine needed for moving my leg. Everything just seemed very disjointed and not organized. And then the financial problems began....around month 7 post op we received news that our insurance denied the claim for overbilling reasons. I start doing some research (which I will let you do on your own but just google his surgery center and the lawsuits pop up). I had no idea that the dr I was dealing with was involved in such questionable practices. It all started to make sense at this point that my care wasn't of his concern it was all monetary which was very disappointing. For the past 1 1/2 years we have received letters from our insurance saying that the surgery center was rebilling or appealing the claim. One appeal was denied because they didn't do it in a timely manner. We never received a bill from the surgery center until this week and receive a settlement letter stating that if we don't pay the proposed settlement amount in 10 days it will be turned over to collections and we will be on the hook for $34,000+. I'm still very frustrated with this entire process. If you are wondering about my knee...no, the surgery did not work. I have a Baker's Cyst (that was not there before surgery) on the back of my knee that fills with fluid. The cause is severe trauma or cartilage damage. Please do your research about this Dr and his Surgery Center before proceeding with your surgery. I wish I would have known all the facts before go along with the surgery. I wish I would have gotten a second opinion. read more

Even more praise for Dr. Haber. He is helping me with my rotator cup in my right arm and my ongoing severe arthritis in my left shoulder area. He gave ma a cortisone shot in the left shoulder area just recently and it all ready feels better. The back brace that I got from Junior is outstanding. My back is feeling much better now but I have a great brace if in need it. Dr Haber is a great surgeon but he never presses you about doing surgery. He many times will find alternatives for you that work and no surgery is needed. I will probably have to have surgery on my right shoulder for the torn cup but I can postpone it until I am ready. I also will eventfully have to have a left shoulder replacement but I do not need it yet. I will not let anyone do those surgeries but Dr. Haber. He also has a wonderful staff and I like them all. Dr. Haber has replaced both of my knees with Biomet custom knees. The surgeries went well. I was walking with in a couple of weeks. My new knees are greatl and I am pain-free (in the knees, other parts of my body need some custom replacements too). i have greater flexion and extension than I had with my arthritic knees. I saw Dr. Haber for a dislocated patella injury, for which i needed some ligament repair and some bone/cartilage fragments removed. My internal medicine doctor recommended him to me, and i'm glad i followed through. Dr. Haber is hands down just really good at what he does. He's extremely knowledgeable and took his time answering any questions and concerns i had. I'm one week out surgery now and the knee is feeling pretty good. Everything seems so easy for him. He's just a really easy guy to talk to even on a personal level. i am very thankful to my husband that he took me to Dr. Haber for my ankle and other bone fracture.Dr.Haber did my surgery by putting two screws in my ankle.He also put a metal plank in my leg for stability. I was on crutches for two weeks and later Dr.Haber gave me a boot.I was able to walk around with the boot. Dr.Haber is an AWESOME DOCTOR.Thank you Dr.Haber. I have been to him for a few sports injuries and for each one, his focus has always been getting me back to doing what I love as quickly as is reasonably possible. Dr. Haber is not only a board certified orthopedic surgeon. He also completed an an advanced fellowship in the treatment of sports injuries. Recently when I came in for a hamstring tear, Dr. Haber showed me a new study on treating hamstring injuries that had just appeared in the orthopedic journal. I feel confident that Dr. Haber is up to date on all of the latest innovations in treating orthopedic issues. Dr. Haber also has had excellent surgical results. I have been so impressed with him that I have recommended him to friends and family. He repaired a forearm break for my teenage cousin, a torn rotator cuff in an older family member, a partial knee replacement for my aunt 9 years ago ( her knee is still working great and she could hardly walk before), a minor shoulder surgery for me ( I was back to yoga 2 weeks after the procedure), and a major shoulder surgery for a 30 something cousin( who is now back to surfing). Unfortunately my son broke his arm while wrestling. Fortunately, I know the best doctor EVER to take care of it. Dr. Daniel Haber and his staff at "Silicon Valley Sports and Orthopedic Rehabilitation" (quite a mouthful!) are superb. I am a competitive triathlete/runner and got a stress fracture in my foot last year. Dr. Haber was great at getting me in right away, as I was in a lot of pain and couldn't walk. After an Xray and MRI it was decided that it would be best to try and avoid surgery and let my body heal itself. I was impressed with his decision to avoid surgery if possible, instead of just charging in with a knife. He was VERY understanding and concerned about my return to competitive sports. It turned out that the bone was not healing quickly, so we opted for the surgery to avoid any long term weakness that I could have in my foot. Having Dr. Haber do the surgery was the best option ever! I am 6 months post-surgery and am absolutely pain free and I am in no way concerned about my foot. From my initial consultation to my final appointment when he removed my post-op stitches, my experience with Dr. Haber and his wonderful office staff was unparalleled. Ten months ago Dr. Haber replaced my painful right knee. I was not able to climb stairs because of bad pain and was not able to bend at the knee I had to bend at the waist and caused my back to "go out". The problem was arthritic knee. Now I am able to climb stairs, and bend at the knee to pick up off the floor. Dr. Haber didnt rush into surgery. He gave me the knee shots which helped a lot. But I decided I wanted to go ahead with knee replacement. He managed my pain after surgery. One of my questions to Dr. Haber was if I am too old, since I am 80 and afraid at some point doctor's would say I am too old. But he said my health was good and I was a good candidate for knee replacement. And I just am very happy to have my knee working again. Thanks to Dr. Haber. read more

This review is for the PT group; Jeb, Ryan, Bill and crew. My 14 yr daughter has been going to them since 2010 for patellofemoral instability. My daughter is on the quiet side and the guys have been really supportive to her and her rehab. They walk her through the exercises and explain everything. Her 6 yr old sister always tags along and they are just as nice to her. Both girls always look forward to the office visits. There are other PT offices closer to our home but its worth the trip to get that specialized care and attention from a really nice group of people. He had me in the next day for surgery when I was in severe pain. I received personalized care from the day my accident occurred to being released. He made himself always available to me when needed.
