Wow, San Ramon Aquatic Center is great if you're looking for a place for beginner swimmers or a place to splash during a hot summer day. We've been to Dublin Wave and Larkey Swim Center but I think San Ramon Aquatic Park takes the cake: 1. Low entry fee of $8/pp. Big, clean family room for changing along with showers. 2. The main splash pad is a sight to behold. They have this gigantic bucket that gets filled with water pumped from the main pool. It rocks back and forth like a slow bell, signaling impeding doom. Eventually, the bucket tips over and drenched everything and everyone below. It never gets old watching this. 3. They have separate pools for diving, lap swimming, and one with a gigantic inflatable structure that looks like an obstacle course from American Ninja, only above a big pool. As for minor downsides: 1. Limited places to sit around the perimeter. Its crowded here and many folks set out blankets for picnics. 2 Despite a pretty big parking lot, it does get busy so you may need to park a bit farther. read more

If you're looking for an outdoor rec swim pool for the summer with flexible hours this is the place. I love that they have later opening times to accomodate those of us who want to take our kiddos to the pool after work. Most other spots close by 6pm. We've gone a few times to their 7pm to 8:30pm rec swim time slot M, Tues, Thurs, Fri, and my toddler absolutely loves it. Lifeguard are paying close attention to everyone and making sure everyone is being safe. Very clean locker rooms/shower facilities as well. Reasonable prices, $8 per person, but just keep in mind there is a service fee if you use a credit card, so bring cash if possible! We've happily incorporated this into the rotating group of rec swim places we hit during the summer. read more

We had such an amazing time at this facility for my son's end of the year 1st grade class field trip for IISF. From the kids area, to the free swim area and both diving boards, they had a blast!! I would definitely come here again with my son for ourselves. It's clean, staff is professional and friendly and most importantly there was parking!!! This is a nice local place fof swimming, picnic with a tennis court too. A great place to celebrate kid's party . There's a minimal entrance fee of $8 to enter in the pool area. Downside is there's not too many tables and shaded area available. There's not enough parking space too but there's street parking. For that entrance fee, I think it's really a bargain. read more

There are 3 separate pool areas: one for kids who just want to wade, another for those who prefer floating, and a third one to get on the high dive or slide down their inflatable water slide. There are plenty of shaded benches to keep cool, or you can relax on the grassy area for a picnic and to soak up all the sun! Feel free to bring blankets, snacks, and food and enjoy all day here! I was looking for some fun place for the kids to have fun other than parks. This place is perfect for a sunny day. Tucked next to the high school with a limited parking spots. The entrance fee is 8$ for a splash pad and swimming pool. The splash pad is tiny one with 2 slides and the water is bit deep near the structure. We just spent an 1 hour in the pool and it get crowded around 2'o clock. There is no covered shade or tables for the people to sit and relax. So, get your own tent and snacks. They have lockers and showers. Overall it is totally worth on a sunny day. Please check their website for the timings. read more

This place is not just clean. It is immaculate. Locker rooms are newly renovated and feature a machine that wrings the water out of your swimsuit. Lockers are free. Bring your own lock, your own food/drinks, and a picnic blanket to spread out on the grassy areas in the shade. Parking was good when I went on a Thursday. The entrance price can't be beat either: $7 per person whether or not they swim, regardless of age. I can bring my whole family here for less than the cost of one ticket at Hurricane Harbor in Concord or Calibunga in San Jose. Although I wish that kids 3 and under were free, it's still such a steal. Pay by cash or card; cash is better. Obstacle course is fun for older kids, lots of swim lanes for the recreational swimmers, plenty of lifeguards on duty, and splash area for kids is fun! I also like that there's a bell in the tot lot to warn when the bucket will dump the water on folks. Only drawbacks are the hours and dates. Tot lot time is only an hour, doesn't occur on the weekends, and runs into lunchtime/naptime for my youngest this year. The pool should also have longer afternoon hours on both weekdays and weekends. Because this is located on high school grounds, it is open only two months of the year for the aquatic park mid-June through mid-August, and limited swimming hours September through May. read more

Cool concept but in my opinion it's not as safe as it should be. There are pressure valves that can be turned on in the splash pad area where we observed the pressure knocking people down. Two of children we were with scraped their legs going down the water slide. The landing at the end of the slide should have a cushion but it does not. There isn't enough shade on really sunny days and they limit the size of the tent you can bring. Cool idea but it doesn't land. read more

The other reviews about cleanliness are not wrong. This place is so clean, so well organized, and safety seems to take top priority. The lifeguards are plentiful and take their job seriously. Overall, a very positive vibe here! If I had one nit-pick, I wish it had a snack bar. On the other hand, it's probably why its so clean. People bring big picnic baskets, shade tents, and some have quite a spread of food. They are pretty lenient with what you can bring in and it's all listed on their website. I had read there aren't any lounge chairs, and that is correct. The only seating is a set of bleachers by the swimming pool. Otherwise, you can find shade on the hill by the lap pool. We brought small beach folding chairs that were perfect. Others used blankets. Just bring what's comfortable for you to rest when not participating in water play. Two diving boards, one high, one low in use, obstacle course, lap pool, kids splash/fountain play and another pool for general swimming with the deep end blocked off with a few inner tubes. Be advised, if you want a tube, get there early. There were maybe 6 tubes available (3 single and 3 double), but people mostly shared and we all got a turn. Came on a 95 degree Thursday and the longest line was the obstacle course at 10 min, otherwise, you could do what you wanted. Only $7 per person and the diving boards and obstacle course are open 1230-330 which was perfect. No snack shack, but the vending machines take all types of payment and have a decent variety. I got hummus, carrots, pita bread and cheese for $3.50. It was much like a boxed item from Starbucks. So, the options aren't just total junk food. We will definitely be back. We had planned on Hurricane Harbor today, but saw how awful it has become and half the rides closed. This was a fantastic affordable and clean alternative. read more

Pros: Really great spot to take the family for water playtime on a hot day. Lots of options for different ages (high dives, lap swimming, inflatable obstacle course, large pool for family swim/play, splash zone with play structure), definitely something for every member of the family! Cons: A few cons--Very little shade, so bring your own tent or umbrella if you don't want to get burned or overheated in the sun. Another down side is how long the wait was to get in (because they don't accept Apple Pay and the credit cards slowed things down considerably). We got there 30 minutes after it opened and had to wait in a very, very long line in the hot sun (no shade) for 40 minutes before getting inside. Staff was not very friendly. read more

My kids and I had a great time here! We usually stay at the pool for many hours, so I was a bit reluctant to drive out here with shorter rec swim times, but the amount of time ended up feeling perfect. There is tons to do. The diving boards are really exciting, the obstacle course is fun, the splash playground is great for the younger set. My teen likes swimming for shorter periods, so it was great that a big shopping center is only a mile away so he could walk over when he felt done. read more

I've lived in Livermore or Pleasanton for the last 25 years. I'm not sure how long this place has been around but it is THE BEST KEPT SECRET in the Tri-Valley. I found out about it and went because friends form SJ invited me! The kids area is very nice. Just watch out for big kids running around if you have little ones. We came here on a Monday and OMG I am so impressed with this place. #1) SO CLEAN! I have been to so many water parks or splash areas that have been so run down and dirty, it really takes away from the experience. You don't want your kids playing around in dirty water or walking through dirty things. It is such a vulnerable things since they're wearing swimsuits and totally exposed in those environments. So I appreciated it to the fullest how clean this place was. I didn't see any nasty or dirty areas I would avoid. I was so happy to allow my kids and myself play in every single activity they had laid out. #2) The different play areas. This was so cool! After 1230 they open up more areas, so there's literally 2 Olympic sized pools open with different things to do as well as the huge splash area, which is going for most of the time. They open up an obstacle course that runs on top of the water on one of the pools, so cool!! Just keep in mind, the child has to be able to swim on their own to do any of those kind of activities, including the diving boards. There are two diving boards, the 1 meter and 3 meter. So much fun! My daughter went off both and I genuinely feel like going off a 3 meter diving board is something she may never have had a chance to do if it wasn't for coming here. I even went off it twice! It was awesome. The other pool has a basketball hoop and open swim area and then is divided in half where they have single and double tubes floating around, and people can come and go and float on those as they please. Again, you have to be able to swim on your own to go in that area. We were there for over 4 hours and honestly could have stayed even longer, but they do close at 330 and open again later in the evening. #3) The lifeguards!! They have SO MANY lifeguards! And they're attentive and good at their jobs. They constantly rotate to make sure they're not dozing off or getting too comfortable in any one spot. I was fully impressed with the staffing they were using. #4) Parking is free! #5) It's only $7/person to enter and you get unlimited use on all the different areas. I am so happy a friend mentioned this place to us, and can't wait to go back. The one downside is they close on August 6th, so it's not open that long! This place is fun...music is playing and there are several pools for various ages, however, the life guards need to be more vigilant. I was holding my baby in the splash zone pool when two young girls turned up the water pressure on one of springs that sprays water out. This was intentionally done to hit us not once but twice in the face. my son hit his head on mine as a result of the pressure, or the pressure from the water felt like I hit my head on something solid (not sure which). The lifeguards just stood there. I had no idea that the pressure could be manually turned up, until another person swimming brought it to my attention that he observed the girls doing this for fun and laughing. My head still hurts from the incident, I just hope my son is okay. This feature should be turned off anyway, it felt like a pressure hose. why have this in a kids area? While i think its great to employ young kids, i think there needs to be more adult life guards on staff. Hoping I can get in touch management, there is no email or contact form. UPDATE: My son woke up with a fever and a cough most likely from swallowing water and potentially getting it up his nose when we were sprayed. Taking him the doctor today. Took my daughter and her bestie here when we had a crazy heat wave. It was 95 out and a few hours at the pool was a great idea for them to cool down. We arrived right when the center opened and was able to post a few chairs and blanket under a tree. Check in was east and quick. Plenty of life guards on duty and a great job at monitor the pools. Very impressed that they were very attentive and slowed kids down that were running. Thanks for keeping the kids safe. Keep up the great job!! read more

Okay so this lil water park was pretty dope, we went on Saturday hours are 1-4pm for rec swim and the water park area if your not there by 12:45 waiting you probably will not get a table as they are very limited but there is plenty of grass to post up on if you have an umbrella or small tent. No 10by10s. The free swim area was cramped with families I didnt want to get in, hoping next time they have the other pool open its not officially summer so it was closed. But my kiddo loved the inflatable Obstacle course. And the water park area. Entry is $6. Lifeguards need to work on there Approach. Yelling at Patrons is frowned Upon in my book. I witnesed some man get yelled out instead of properly directing him to lap swim area. Otherwise nice place for a quick dip. Hoping for longer hours in the future. read more

We live in Pleasanton and the local pool we go to here, is not good and they whistle at you for everything.... if a damn fly passes by they whistle at you so we decided to find a new one. We found this one! We love this pool and will continue to go here every summer...the big bouncy thing is fun too! Well that was a surprise. Took some swim classes here and coaches etc were all good. The best part is the water play area, although it is mainly for kids, but you can't avoid going in too. It does get packed over the weekends though, weekdays not so much. There's no shortage of life guards here so you can rest easy a bit. Shower & restrooms are pretty decent enough. People on weekends, pack a picnic, and come here with their sunshade tents. Its a great place for kids and family without breaking the bank. My kids love this place! Great for toddlers, kids and teens. I don't rate a 5 because there is not much shade or seating. One great thing about his place is the life guards are supper attentive. However if your planing to visit you have to arrive early for shade or be prepared to sit far away from swim area or be in the sun all day. LOVE this place. The only reason why i'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because they have very limited hours. We just went yesterday, 6/13/2015 and their hours were 12:30 to 4:30 pm. We were there as soon as they opened and until they closed. It was so much fun! I bought my tickets online so I didn't have to wait in the long a$$ line to purchase tickets. If you want to save time, definitely purchase your tickets prior to going or be prepared to wait. My son, husband and I loved the children's wading/splash area. It was clean and they had plenty of lifeguards. Since the place was crowded, they rotated the children's area every half hour. When we were rotating out of the children's area, we would just go to the larger pool which was just as awesome. My son loved being in the water. They also provided several floating inflatables for the public to use. The locker rooms are clean. They have showers with hot and cold water and dispensable body wash. We loved it here and highly recommend! Such a fun place. I seriously can't wait to return. Don't forget to slap on the SPF so you don't get sunburned like my husband and I did. $4 entry fee with a full on kiddy play area?! YES PLEASE!! Very clean and well maintained. We take our kids here quite often and they love it! The kiddy play area for the kids, and separate dive/obstacle/lap and wade pools too. It can get pretty crowded but for being local and only $4 entry fee, its worth it! Life guards on duty. They don't have a snack bar but welcome coolers for your personal snack and drinks. We usually bring a wagon and small cooler with snacks and drinks and find a shady spot in the grass. There are a few picnic tables too. Parents remember the lifeguards aren't babysitters -so please keep an eye on your own kids! read more

This place has nice facilities especially for young kids. The kiddie pool area is gated so that the kids don't wander off too far. Although the water is at most two feet deep, there are several lifeguards around which makes it feel safe. There's also a big water slide in the middle and the traffic there is all controlled by the staff, which was nice. Only downside is the long wait to get into the facilities when they open. It's also only open for just a few hours between 1pm - 4pm, which was sort of odd. There's not a lot of shade here, so be sure to bring a sunshade/shelter if you won't be in the pool the whole time. read more

NorCal is a treasure trove of city-run aquatic centers and I LOVE IT! I love this location because the facility is clean and the life guards are always alert. Only $5 per person and splash zone is a extra $3 (btw - it includes a pretty cool inflatable obstacle course). My son doesn't use the obstacle course yet so we just spend the $5/ person. They are open from 12:30-3:30. A little short on time but still a great value. read more
