I'm immensely appreciative of them for opening up and coming up with a system for those of us jonesing to get in a pool. They're a saltwater pool now (I just moved to the area, but my understanding is that they did not used to be saline), which I love as it's a little easier on skin and hair. In addition, they keep the place immaculate- every time I'm there swimming, there are lifeguards wiping down all the surfaces repeatedly, and they enforce social distancing very well. I'm really excited to get to swim here more often once things calm down.

We politely and patiently waited in line behind her. This same elderly lady had the audacity to let her 3 acquaintances who showed up later to cut in line w/ her. I spoke up and told her friend that we were in line and that they basically cut. She apologized, but for the future, it would be good for an employee to pls step out and assure that the general public must practice the common decency when waiting in line in a fair and orderly manner. Otherwise, thank you for providing the clean swimming pool, and courteous services!

First time visiting this pool with some friends and kids on a weekend. There's a huge parking lot…read moreright outside the pool, which is very convenient. The parking signs were a little confusing because they say "pool permit parking only," but I later found out that this only applies on weekdays. $8 admission is a pretty good deal, although there's an additional service fee when paying by credit card. The front desk didn't mention the fee, and I only noticed it after reading a sign off to the side of the desk. The changing room was clean and tidy, with hot showers and plenty of lockers. There aren't individual changing stalls, though, and the bathroom is located inside the changing room. The kids' pool is probably the highlight. It's very shallow and perfect for little kids, with water slides, a play structure, and a big bucket that fills up and dumps water over everyone. The kids had a lot of fun waiting for it. The main pool has a dedicated lap-swimming section and a shallower area around 4 feet deep where people can hang out. The deep end has an inflatable obstacle course that looks like an American Ninja Warrior-style setup, along with diving boards at different heights. My biggest issue was the very strict lifeguard monitoring. They were watching the pool extremely closely, with whistles ready to go at any moment. During our three-hour visit, I saw multiple parents and kids being spoken to by lifeguards. I was also approached for having a small child on my back in the shallow section. I was standing comfortably in the water, but I was told not to carry the child that way. What confused me was that I was allowed to carry the same child in front of me, but not on my back. I understand the lifeguards have to enforce safety rules, but I wasn't clear on the difference or what additional safety concern the back carry presented. Overall, I appreciate having lifeguards who are attentive and focused on safety, especially with so many kids around. However, during our visit, it sometimes felt like I was being watched the entire time and had to walk on eggshells. The facilities are clean, the kids' pool is fun, there's plenty to do, and $8 is a reasonable price. Would I come back? Maybe 50/50. It's a good community pool, but the very strict enforcement made the experience a little less relaxing for me. ‍

Wow, San Ramon Aquatic Center is great if you're looking for a place for beginner swimmers or a…read moreplace to splash during a hot summer day. We've been to Dublin Wave and Larkey Swim Center but I think San Ramon Aquatic Park takes the cake: 1. Low entry fee of $8/pp. Big, clean family room for changing along with showers. 2. The main splash pad is a sight to behold. They have this gigantic bucket that gets filled with water pumped from the main pool. It rocks back and forth like a slow bell, signaling impeding doom. Eventually, the bucket tips over and drenched everything and everyone below. It never gets old watching this. 3. They have separate pools for diving, lap swimming, and one with a gigantic inflatable structure that looks like an obstacle course from American Ninja, only above a big pool. As for minor downsides: 1. Limited places to sit around the perimeter. Its crowded here and many folks set out blankets for picnics. 2 Despite a pretty big parking lot, it does get busy so you may need to park a bit farther.

For years members have complained about a litany of problems at this club. Wondering if the toilet with the broken seal will ever be repaired. The water coming out of the base of the toilet in the women's locker room floods the stall. Caution: Wear shoes as the water that is evacuating the toilet may be gray water. Ick. TVs CONTINUE (after years of complaining) to either pixilate unmercifully or have no signal for several channels. Suggestion to faux management: Just place signs around the club that read: WE DON'T CARE.

Whether or not you join the swim team, this is a great neighborhood pool. If you look at the pictures from when it was first built, the core elements are the same (in a good way) while upgraded amenities have been added as well. Kids love the diving board and simply playing with their friends - we have outgrown the wading pool but that is a hit with toddlers. That spring, after I turned 8 my family joined the Ygnacio Wood Swim Club and I also joined the swim team. Without a doubt, my fondest memories of the 8 years I lived there all tied back to Ygnacio Wood Swim Club & Team. Years later, when it was time to settle into a community and start a family, I came back. Our family joined Ygnacio Wood Swim Club and Team with little kids and we fell in love with everything it has to offer, just as I remember when I was a kid. Now our kids aren't so little and they have all had the same experience I had as a kid, probably even better. Ygnacio Wood builds lifelong friendships. My best friends today are either people I met and grew up with at YW, or parents we met as our kids grew up at YW. Same with my kids friends. I think it is the legacy culture that attracts like-minds As for the Ygnacio Wood Swim Team...or Y-DUB Nation as some call it...it is like nothing else. Ya, meets follow the same format as other rec meets. The kids start off blocks. People are timing. The water is wet. Etc. But, this is not your -- stand around bored while you wait for a monotone megaphone announcement of your kid's next event, followed by an awkwardly started song off a random playlist that someone made 5 years ago for the one party they ever had, which honestly wasn't even that fun, even though the host keeps asking "remember that party at our house?" while you think to yourself, "Uh, yeah how could I forget when you play that sucky playlist every single meet..." -- kind of meet. Nope. At YWST home meets, you get an experience that starts with a state of the art sound system with clear and fun announcements, music professionally fading in and out between starts and announcements, and a custom playlist uniquely curated by our DJ for each meet theme, guest team and age group. And, well there's the digital display board visible to all and broadcasting the times of each race. Oh, what's that--the display board just turned into a video of the swimmers at they step on the block, but the starter calls them all back down, except for little Billy, who stands on the block not sure what's going on. Ahh, the announcer explains it's Billy's birthday and suddenly 250 people join in for a quick happy birthday song while Billy tries his best to play it cool but at the end he just can't help bust out a smile while he gets ready to take his mark. Oh yeah, then there's the real secret sauce...the coaching staff. They're all home-grown former YWST swimmers who have taken the time to know each and every kid on the team, and bring absolutely nuclear energy and motivation passed down by their former YWST coaches. They recognize and congratulate swimmers at every age and skill level when they achieve a personal best. And, if there enough kids for a B or C relay, they swim. Because its rec swim and the kids are here to swim not watch the A relay team swim. Even though its fun to watch the A relay because those swimmers are fast... I'm very fortunate to have had the opportunity to experience Ygnacio Wood Swim Club and Team as a kid, and now as a dad of a swim family. Very proud to be a Sea Horse. Ooh, ah, you wish you were a Sea Horse. GOOOO YGNACIO!!

At swim meets, especially the large multi team events - YWST is always seen as the team with the most spirit. We joined YWST in 2008 at the advice of our neighbor, whose two children were on the team. Our oldest daughter was 6 and our younger ones were barely 2 and 4. Over the next 10 years, we watched our children develop into accomplished swimmers. More importantly in my mind was the great environment for my kids to be in each day after practice, mostly hanging out with their friends, being outside, being active, interacting with kids of all ages and young adults/coaches who were great role models, etc., - versus-being indoors on their phones, with occasional scheduled play dates.
